Sharpe was shot on 16mm film and framed for 4:3 TV...the new transfer loses a slight bit of information from the top and bottom of the screen (mainly bottom). does it matter which Sharpe to watch first ie: Sharpes rifle, eagle, company. If so what is the order?
@Maksimfan11 жыл бұрын
its completely different. Cornwell does a tremendous amount of research before writing each one and the scene where he worries about promotion is neither a confrontation with Nairn, nor in front of his men. His worry is also explained where as here its only explained by the sentence 'With Lawford gone, I am but a captain of sufferance'. in the book you learn why it is such.

I don't think it would actually be possible to cut off an arm with a sword. Certainly not without a long swing. The shoulder is an incredibly strong joint. Also, why is Picton always shown to wear civilian clothes? I thought it was only at the Waterloo campaign that he did so, and that it wasn't his own choosing.

Often when two lieutenants of the Royal Navy met for the first time it wasn't long before the question "What is the date of your commission?" was raised. Thus they immediately established who was the senior lieutenant of the two.
he had a french lover in the last india book she ran off with some it was all jewels from the sultan of tipoo, its also where he actually got his gazette then he shacked up with a lords wife & he had a house bought for them in london then she died in childbirth, the rest was spent on bickering lawyers after he was taken to court by the lords family
I thought I saw colonel lawford in Sharpe's Regiment but with the left arm missing, not the right.
does it matter which Sharpe to watch first ie: Sharpes rifle, eagle, company. If so what is the order?
its completely different.
@Norguy77 i love that game, whats ur steam name?
@TowerHamletsNeil He's actually not that hungry in the books. He goes for a captaincu yes to secure it he takes the eagle. But all his other promotions have been just through his merit. He doesnt nessesarily go looking for it.
@Norguy77: Can your PC HANDLE Napoleon Total War?!
Let's then say he was very islish. As he came from one of the islands ...
I'd suggest reading the book
Now,correct me if I'm wrong (which I'm not) but in the last part, Sharpe said that he needed to get the French Eagle to *CONFIRM* his captancy (become a captain)... why now should he lose that just becaus Colonel Lawford lost a arm? (the obvious being that he captured the eagle to secure his rank).... am I just picking faults here, or is there a legitimate / army regulational reason?? :)
@Norguy77 oh me too, this show why i basically forced my brother to get the Peninsular DLC
quick question, is the guy at 8.50 meant to be harris, or did they run out of actors
what could be so bad right after the injury that slicing off his arm would be better? what did harper see?
big overlap with cast of hornblower
Horse Guards is in London. They're in charge.
Love you ShinigamiTiger99! :D
@notoriouslizw Actually they played this series in America back in the 1990s on PBS. As for Sean Bean never getting an oscar well, there is no accounting for taste.
I don't think it would actually be possible to cut off an arm with a sword. Certainly not without a long swing. The shoulder is an incredibly strong joint. Also, why is Picton always shown to wear civilian clothes? I thought it was only at the Waterloo campaign that he did so, and that it wasn't his own choosing.
the man who sleep in his bed while being attacked by the french? XD Yeah im a hornblower fan myself..

Alas, so am I, but they were not able to keep making them.
Bah, no scene with Sharpe taking the massive guns or that colnel getting blow up by the mine from the book... moderatly dissapointing.
