I think maybe he was trying to avoid saying how silly this product is. As you can see in this video with only one corner, imagine how bad will it look with all side and corners being shove-in like that. How many people that would pay 60 USD for this willing to let their bed looking like that? 10-20 dollars for single college kids, maybe. No patent too...dollars store and Amazon sellers will flash the market even if they can get enough people to get on board with the concept of "half making the bed"

HARD pass for hotel use. I was a housekeeper at 5 different hotels before I became a housekeeping manager. Did that for 5 years. Quality control and training employees to be make beds fast without having to run, was something I did very well. This would NOT make it a faster process. It would slow it down. And it would not only look sloppy to guests who like clean corners. It would also do nothing but catch crumbs and need to be washed at LEAST twice a week even if it nothing was spilled on it. This would mean more wear on the laundry, more shelf space needed, more to cary of the cart (that's already heavy enough), and more wear on the actual employees who would would be spending too much time fussing over making the sheets look tight and then try to keep them tucked into this. This would mean a big slow down in their number of rooms they can clean in a work day, and more people would need to me hired. OR they will be expected to do the same amount of work in the same amount of time, so they will now be over worked and quit. Meaning very unhappy employees with a higher turn over rate, and more work related injuries. Because its a physical job with a LOT of bending, and making beds wrong repetitively can injure you. On top of that, it would make it a lot harder for every room attendant to be doing their regular bedbug checks. Basically impossible to do it properly really. A hotel would purchase this, and find out it was a waste of money. Something that happens often when things like this come out. I know a few things the hotels got that were not practical in reality. This isn't an efficient product for hotels. This is a product for those with mobility issues or difficulty using their hands. Or for kids who have a hard time making their bed. It has uses. And that's perfectly fine.

Very good points! I'll add this too, though I have zero hotel work experience: Customers expect the room to be a certain way. Whilst some might marvel at the genius of this I wonder if most higher paying hotel customers would frown at the different-ness of this?!

This one I actually do feel for Barbara cause she seemed the most supportive, gave the better reasons to work with her compared to Lori AND gave them the better deal. That being said, this was clear psychological hierarchy at work. Lori was more laidback, never even looked at Barbara, never even sold herself, same ages - so she is seen as the more desirable choice.

Daymonds offer was the best one why try to sell a product to a home or an apartment with anywhere from 1-5 beds when you could sell en masse to the hotel industry where each hotel has upwards of 50-500 beds. Not to mention branching out to cruise lines, health care industry such as assisted living homes etc. QVC seems like such a bait and offers a quick flash sale and then back into obscurity. Daymonds offer has loads of potential scalability.

They made a massive mistake. Daymond was the clear choice. They would have blown up under his connections that he mentioned. All Lori is is QVC, or flash in the pan sales. All of them would have been able to lower manufacturing cost to the level Barbara stated or even better. Therefore Daymond’s deal would have provided the most long term growth and possibly the quickest growth as well. Their business could have been in the hundreds of millions in sales under his approach. QVC will get them the quick buck only and a bigger fish will swoop in and steal those absolutely massive contracts with the hotel chains, etc. Finally they probably could have gotten Daymond down to 20%.

@@herewego1067 That is true, she absolutely kills on products. Ok maybe I was a bit harsh on Lori in my oc, but in this case the ladies could have built a massive company around their product. Daymond was the clear choice, their contract with AAHOA alone would make more money than multiple QVC runs. Plus contracts with Purple, Casper, and Lisa mattress companies would be massive as well. Commercial for this product/company was the way to go and their sales would have dwarfed anything Lori produced with QVC. Also I believe Daymond’s connections in manufacturing would have given them the best results on manufacturing cost.

Keep in mind that when they leave, if they have a decent product, there are investors out there who have their people watching these shows as well as referrals from the people on the show. $33 cost for that is absolutely insane, unless it washes the bed clothes itself, weekly.

Poor Barbara. She gets made fun of for never making offers, and when she finally does make an offer that's actually lower than any of the others, she gets rejected. Well damn

This is the first Shark Tank invention/company that I immediately knew I had to buy. It doesn't create a solution to a new age problem. This is something that everyone needs and just makes life better.
