I love my husban so much we have been married for years. When I was in high school I brought him to see my parents and they hated him, it hurt me so much. I love to share my faith but I'm also scared of the same reaction from others to hate something so sacred and beautiful to me. That's why it's hard sometimes for me.

Rosa Gomez having faith should be embarrassing, because it is irrational and delusions. believing in imaginary friends and superstitions should be embarrassing. people don't hate it, they just think you are an idiot

When one is reborn in Christ Jesus, baptized by/through Holy Spirit, and you know for yourself (by first hand experience aka being a witness) of what Jesus has done for you personally because if a relationship. Then we cannot be silent. The spirit of fear is not from God. He gives us a more than a overcomers spirit. We all can get scared at times, but it is very important to lean on Jesus instead of our own power. Ask Jesus the questions. We must choose to be empowered and sent by Jesus. Love is longsuffering so it can still exist even being rejected . Do not be hard on yourself sister Rosa. Let Jesus carry the burden for you. God bless you in Jesus name. You got this! 😊

Here are few questions: What Jesus would say about this? why are we not doing what Jesus did rather what Paul said? Jesus never ate pork. Why are we still eating pork?

The most Loving thing to do is not to let someone Figure it out in the End when they get thrown into Everlasting Fire. Our Beliefs are backed up by Evidence and personal experience. Our Faith is not Blind like yours, tell me what happened Before the Big Bang?

I am 100% sure that playing the banjo can enrich our lives. I am never embarrassed sharing that truth. Could it be that Christians feel awkward sharing their beliefs because deep down they harbor doubts about them?

+FriendlyBanjoAtheist Why don't you settle down for a deep think on that & how it resembles or differs from an atheist approach on sharing their deeply held beliefs.

+FriendlyBanjoAtheist Doubting is probably a part of it. I think most, if not all, Christians doubt in some way or another. Even Peter sank after he had already walked on water (Matt 14). It's in our nature. But I think it's largely the social aspect. There's a stigma attached to it, and many people make snap judgments as soon as they hear that you're a Christian. It's kind of hard to volunteer to be thought of that way, especially when it's so much easier to just stay quiet. And if you do it at work or school with people you see every day, you'll be known as "that guy". But we're commanded to spread the word. If we really believe in God, what are we to do but swallow our pride and do it anyway? Not to mention losing friends and making enemies. We grew up in the same world. We're fully aware of how socially awkward it is. . There's a certain amount of courage it takes to speak up at all.

+fordictionclass That is a thoughtful reply, but I think you severely understate the role of doubt in making things awkward for Christians. If I am certain that the building is on fire, I will have very little awkwardness in bursting into the ballroom to interrupt the waltz and let the Lords and Ladies know that they need to vacate. It's only if I'm not really sure that awkwardness starts to fit into the picture. And by the way, I do not blame Christians for having loads of doubt. I appreciate those who admit to it.

I think some are leary about sharing the gospel is because they could be afraid of a possible verbal confrontation, not sure of the reaction they'll get. or if they'll get the immature questions and they don't want to hear it.

''Helping the thinker believe''. I don't know who said this '' all religious belief, without the weight of childhood indoctrination, would die of absurdity''. Religious belief is as learned as the language you grew up with. Christian parents generally bring up christian children, hindu parents generally bring up hindu children, muslim parents generally bring up muslim children and so on. If you could prove your jesus belief, or for that matter any other god belief, is anything more than learning a language during childhood, , you might have something to think about . You won't be able to... ''Helping the believer think''. Not if you want to keep them a believer.Your need for a heavenly father is nothing more than a psychological crutch. It's this reason alone that shows all these ''one true gods'' cannot be proven. It's also the reason you don't believe in the other ''one true gods'. ''Helping the thinker believe'' is nothing more than religious arrogance and your specific psychological need to make the specific god myth you grew up with, more believable and acceptable to you. This is the only life you are ever going to have. Stop wasting time on the myth you grew up with.

Mike are you discounting the hundreds of thousands of conversion stories throughout history? How about C.S. Lewis, most famously known for his work on the Chronicles of Narnia? He was an atheist and came to faith in Jesus Christ after a few years of questioning. He then devoted all of his creative efforts and literary prowess to writing fictional and non-fictional works revolving around Christianity. And my dear father, who spent a lifetime singing in the nightclubs, only to be converted in his 30s and then spent the rest of his life singing for the Lord? He's now singing for the King of Kings in Heaven! Mike, there is plenty of evidence for a Creator -- we call Him Father just as we call our earthly creators our parents. It's not a weird mythological concept. Modernity makes it seem that way. I implore you, brother, seek Him and you will find Him!

With no foundation for objective basis for knowledge as known as God, you being cosmic stardust cannot call someone elses belief absurd because they are stardust as well and your idea and opinion about someone elses idea cannot extend past your own mind since that what evolution produced; you'd have to blame evolution. Just because someone grew up with a religion, doesn't negate it's truths, truth is truth no matter the region, country, city or someone's opinion. I believe the evidences for Christianity show how true it is, historically and sociologically and theologically. Instead of just saying it's absurd, do research and find out the evidences for Christianity, then place your faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sin that you may be saved.
