I grew up watching Kobe when I was a teenager.I would count down from 3 to 1 and hit the fade away or at least try every time I would miss the shot I’ll do it over again and again until I made the shot.I would practice his moves his epic fade away with his right foot out and fall every time, missing never stopped me from going for it.I fell in love with the game everyday ,and I can honestly say I grew up watching my favorite player. What’s crazy is my daughter was born on August and since the first day I seen him play I couldn’t stop learning.I will definitely be there to see his statue be unveiled to all of Los Angeles

I remember being part of a community service based organization in High School and the org bought us tickets to a Mavs game. And it just so happen to be against the Lakers in Fall ‘09. And seeing that I’m a Cali native in Dallas, I think I might’ve been the only Laker fan in that arena buuuut it was close game n I didn’t have money for food and was like “I mean if the Mavs win I’ll eat a free Taco Bueno burrito…but Im ok wit starving if the Lakers win” and sure enough the Lakers won and it was my first time seeing Kobe play live and in person and remember I was in my college dorm watching his last game and too hear/see Kobe & Gigi gone too sudden and too soon and to this day it still seems surreal and has me teary-eyed about it everytime I talk/write about him. Yesterday I went to shoot hoops at at local gym in South San Diego. I'm 47 years old now and I was a big fan of the Lakers during the Shaq - Kobe era in the early 2000's & the Kobe - Pau Gasol era from 2008 - 2010. And as I was leaving, I saw a Mom coaching her young son how to play better basketball, (maybe 6 or 7 years old); and heard the boy say, "yeah like Kobe." I mean, Kobe is even impacting super young kids 8 years past his last NBA game & 4 years after leaving life. Just incredible!

Me to budd,I'm here watching this video in my worktruck all teary-eyed. R.I.P Kobe, I love you man.
A force multiplier not just in basketball, but life in general. Mad respect for Mamba❤
Kobe goat Bryant! You are deeply missed. The reason i started watching basketball 🏀 Inspired me outside of basketball to challenge myself and continuously try to improve. Mamba lifestyle for life!
Crawford is so humble and ion even think he realizes the level of respect folks have for his game. So ofc Kobe is gonna come watch you play. Crawford was before his time. If he played in this Era we'd be having a very different conversation rn.
Well deserved. One of the greatest basketball players ever. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to watch his NBA career.
It's like getting over your childhood and letting it go, you just can't, you always go back, you recall, you remember, with a smile on your face and a basketball in your hand. Just like Kobe.
I loved the clip of Kobe training with Candace. If Kobe saw in you that you really wanted to be great he would help. I love the willingness he had to pass his knowledge of the game to other players. Huge Celtics fan and I can see how much he did for Tatum every game.
We can all put Kobe's hunger towards the game to the game of life. Work, family, friends. Give everyone a 100%, everytime.
My favorite player ever. Truly one of a kind and well deserved 💜
Losing Kobe was one of the worst days of my life it's something I don't think I'll ever get over I've never been so inspired or motivated by one person in my life, it's tragic we didn't get to see him live the last chapters out of his life😔 rest in peace black Mamba🙏
Crazy how someone can work so hard on their damn self that they leave an impact on you years after their passing when you never even knew much about them when they were alive. Gone too soon
Wish Kobe was still here with us. Man it's been 4 years, but still miss him. RIP to everyone on that tragic day.
I’ve never gotten choked up for someone I never knew or met. A lot of us grew watching Kobe grow up on TV. RIP KB WE MISS YOU
Just the fact that she can sit there, smile, and speak on a broadcast speaks volumes. A lot of people would drop off the face of the earth and crumble in despair and depression for losing a sweet little daughter and, of course, her husband. Much respect to her and her incredible strength.
I don't know if I ever watched a player with as much passion as Kobe. One of the most skilled basketball players to ever play the game & one of the greatest winners to ever play the sport. Thanks for giving me & the 💜💛 two decades of amazing basketball. No excuses, no shortcuts, & no flopping.
4:24 Facts. Shaq & Kobe; BEST Duo of All Time 🙏🏽💪🏽
I came home from school/basketball practice and would watch kobe Bryant highlights every day. It's what got me motivated. We were pretty poor growing up but one year my parents got me tickets to see them play against the blazers. Will never forget watching him play, dropped 36 but the blazers one. He was so much more than a basketball player to me. RIP Kobe, rest easy up there. You deserve it
Damn it doesn't feel real like it's been 4 years since my favorite player passed, but I'm glad he's getting a statue tomorrow, I miss Kobe a lot 💜💛
Kobe will always be in my heart
Rest In Peace Kobe and Gigi Bryant 💛💜
Thank you Kobe, you'll forever be the reason I love basketball ❤️
Kobe the only celebrity or person i dont know personally that i ever cried for when he passed😢
Was planning to book our tickets and get the accommodations together to see the unveiling in person, but we won’t be able to make it. So happy that they touched on this and we continue to send our love and thoughts to Vanessa and the family. May we all be continue to keep that Mamba Mentality instilled in us in everything we do, everyday.

He was my favorite player/person (yes over MJ) and grateful for the impact he made in my life as a Man, a competitor (in any field), and hopefully soon as a Father. Thank you so much Kobe
Still begin to tear up anytime I recall that Kobe's past.. Mamba Forever

@@mortystraphouse5077 Simple math. 6 rings ≠ 3 rings. Pippen was INCREDIBLE and still doesn't get the credit he deserves. He and MJ are by FAR the best duo ever. Kobe and Shaq weren't always in sync bc Shaq could be lazy and Kobe was, ahem, not always a people person. Yes, the 2000-01 Lakers would have beat some iterations of the MJ Bulls championship teams. Still don’t feel right that he’s gone my favorite player my goat.
The world heartbroken when Michael died. When Prince died they mourned together. When Kobe died the world fell to it's knees. The biggest impact he's had on people was more from the man he was and the way he took life by the horns than what he did on the court. Which is saying a lot considering what he accomplished on the court. Legends never die.

Rip Kobe we miss and love you forever,Mamba Out!!
Shaq loves to rewrite history about their beef but they did settle it. Im glad they became friends in the end
It's hard to hold back on the emotion. This was no ordinary guy. He was so much more to so many.
I don't see any player of today striking fear to opposing players the way Kobe did. They just using Mamba mentality because it sounds good but Kobe actually lived and breathed it.

Like no, jokes are fine and actually important. But you can't just call anything a joke. lol You were simply trying to be a lazy edgelord and no one over the age of 15 would find it appealling.
