    What’s crazy is you can honestly say Shaq underachieved ,, his peak year was 2000 mvp season when Phil challenged him to win mvp , that’s what Shaq should’ve been every year easily and even better , crazy the man still averages 35/15 at almost 60 percent fg percentage in 3 straight finals , prob won’t see that kind of dominance again .

    Yeah as a person that didn't like the Lakers during their 3 peat, I couldn't stand Shaq. He was unguardble. The only thing you could do is wait and hope for his decline. He kind of declined quick. He was kind of washed during than 2004 season they lost to the pistons in the finals.

    3:56 is basically a summary of just how dominant Shaq was. The 76ers rush over to triple him as soon as he gets the ball in the post and he still looks completely unbothered getting an easy dunk. He was getting this type of coverage the whole series and still averaged 33-16-5 on 57% shooting. He made Mutombo, who won DPOY that year and was 7 foot 2 and 260lbs look like a baby out there.

  • @kimarhironso437
    @kimarhironso437 Жыл бұрын

    Prime Shaq was unstoppable. Even dudes like Ben Wallace, who could play Shaq one on one without him completely dominating STILL would get twenty plus posted on them on a nightly basis, and Big Ben was a 4 time DPOY physical specimen who could bench 460 lbs and had a 39" vertical. BW would sometimes have a good game against him, but more often than not, Shaq posted good numbers the other way, just not his game changing numbers. It let the Pistons lock up everyone else on the Lakers for that final series. The three years he played and won championships with the Lakers were as physically dominant of a player I've ever seen. People look at him now and just think he was a big guy who overpowered everyone, which is true, but he also was WAY more mobile than most people think with excellent footwork for a guy his size and surprising speed. In the early part of his career before carrying that weight slowed him down, he was as fast as a north to south sprinter at the C spot that was playing in his era. I don't care what anyone says, Shaq was as responsible for those three championships as Kobe was. Shaq would spend three quarters yeeting everybody out of the way and scoring at will, and Kobe would close out the games because Shaq couldn't hit free throws. If Shaq could hit free throws, he would be a top five player of all time.

  • @tracyelsinger1088

    What made Shaq special was that he wasnt just huge. He was huge, and freakishly quick and athletic for his size, and also had great touch. Supposedly the size of his hands contributed to his FT struggles, but close to the basket they were an advantage. He could hold the ball like an ordinary person holding a grapefruit.

    @@TC-yx1qt Wilt didn't play with a 3-second rule. Imagine a league where Shaq didn't leave the damn lane. There were two big old rules that the NBA enacted to make sure the league didn't become a center's league. Hack-a-Shaq was one. Even before it was official, they were NOT calling intentional fouls on the people who mauled him. The other was the 3-second rule. Shaq is the best center I've ever seen play the game. Wilt had special rules made for him so he got three free throws whenever he was fouled... plus the ball. Imagine that with Shaq. And of course intentional fouls weren't allowed on Wilt. And no 3-second rule. Host of reasons why prime Shaq was better.
