I was born in 1979, so I was 15/16 years old when Penny started playing with Shaq. Perfect age, still young and impressionable 😂 It was very special and I'm very nostalgic towards that era. I just recently watched Blue Chips, too. It's wild watching a young Shaq and Penny in that movie. Great movie, BTW.

Penny still my favorite player ever. I lived in Orlando during those days. They had the town lit up! Sad to see how ego's played into their breakup. Shaq was dominant, but Penny was a phenom and was more marketable. He became the crowd favorite and Diesel couldn't handle that. Will always hold that 95 team as one of the best starting 5's ever, and definitely THEE most entertaining team I ever watched play. It blows my mind Penny's not in the HOF. At his peak, every pundit was already talking about his potential to be the GOAT. He would have surpassed Magic as the greatest PG ever if he didn't get hurt. Wear Pennies, GET DIMES!!!

As a Lakers fan, I am obviously happy with how everything unfolded for Shaq leaving Orl for LA. damn in the 90s those two were the up-and-comers that were gonna take over AFTER the Bulls' reign. As for the question, how many more would Kobe and Shaq would've won if they stayed together? lmao. at most 2. realistically 1. At that time, Shaq was getting lazier and lazier and getting hurt more and more. Bro. I witnessed the whole thing. Stop changing the narrative. I love you Shaq. Probably my favorite basketball personality of all time. But brotha, it was a struggle tryna get you to be all in on basketball...or just the conditioning aspect of it. Stop the cap.
