This is what happened in my marriage. Divorce after 22 years of marriage. Husband had 7 affairs, one he got pregnant during our marriage, and even with a neighbor down the street where we lived. Nine years after I left him my ex husband STILL blames all his cheating on me. His excuses are I got cancer, I spent too much time with the kids, he was embarrassed I made more money than him, his ex put it in his face what was he supposed to do and I was over just reacting, etc ..... It is REFRESHING to see Shaq own it - he has moved beyond his ego, and towards healing and growth which is amazing. My ex is still stuck in the same place with lack of ownership. I told my ex that I hope one day he owns it - not for me - but for himself - so he can grow and learn from his mistakes. I had to take ownership over the parts of me that stayed so long with that type of marriage - I was diagnosed with C-PTSD from his chronic cheating and it took me years to recover.

It doesn’t take a way the woman’s pain and those kids pain however, just to admit and “man Up” in this way would possibly ease the pain somewhat. This is why I love Shaq, honest he kept it 100th, this is what you call accountability, not running away from failures but facing them head on. All the best moving forward Shaq, you are awesome in my book, watch you all the time on NBA on TNT
🎯Shaq is an example of a "grown" man💙He made bad decisions in the world💚owned it in front of the world❤and continued to protect his family from the world💛
How refreshing to hear a big man speak truth about his own failings. That is why he is respected.
My respect to Shaq for being open about the loss of his marriage. Good for the soul to hear truth
I have so much respect for shaq. Makes me reflect on my own life as a new father and a relatively new husband, I appreciate everything he said. Keep your vows, be there for your kids, shaq is helping a lot of men by saying those things.
Love Shaq, he’s a class act. Sometimes you just have to grow up.
Respect to Shaq for approaching this the matured way. Accountability, vulnerability, honesty, open heart. Self awareness is extremely important in life... You understand yourself better, you are able to forgive yourself and others better, you make decision better etc etc. Self reflection leads to healing and growth.
So much I can say about this video! It’s just that powerful! As a life coach, owing his stuff is powerful in itself. I have another level of respect for Shaq. I have never been a Shaq basketball fan, but I am now a fan of the man.
Damn. That’s awesome to hear. Even though he made mistakes like all of us. He manned up about it. You could tell Shaq has a good heart. Wish him the best.
They tried to take him down that misogynistic road but Shaq made them all quiet and thats so refreshing. Men don't seem to understand how unnecessary it is to beat down and break the spirit of the women that love them because it was a woman that birthed them raised them nurtured them and endure their anger and frustration with life as it is. To carelessly hurt us then blame us for their behavior is a smack In the face and degrades not just us as women but as the mothers of their seed which destroys a piece of their children in the process being that they are both of us in one. Why the safety and validation of their children is not a priority over their ego I will never understand. Then to sit with other men and drag your children's mother and call her out of her name when you have daughters is beyond me so cudos to Shaq for calling a spade a spade. Thats some grown man love my seed gotta build a sturdy foundation for my tribe type logic Love him for that. He really restored my faith in the Black man alittle because I have never been ashamed of the Black man until this bandwagon generation started tearing down their women so openly and viciously trying to gain brown points with one another. Its crazy

@@fateswarning1070 I'm sure if the man was present a woman wouldn't need to take on his very necessary role.. and if the man won't be the strength of his family then what do you expect... She has got to fill in the gaps. For you to not understand is mind boggling to me. Its simple take care of the life you created. Point blank period. Then you would not have to see women in mens roles as you said because the men would be positioned in their rightful place. Just because the man has walked away from his responsibility does not mean God is going to allow the entire family to be destroyed. If you are called to action in your family and you refuse it God equips the woman to do what is necessary. But most men are angered by a woman's strength because their angle in leaving was solely to literally watch his own family crumble without him. SMH
