Out of all the countless chiptune songs i've listened to, this still remains my ultimate favorite. A hidden masterpiece of composition! Especially around 4:34 there is so much emotion behind those notes, it keeps getting better every time i listen to it. Geir Tjelta, you created something truly special!

Actually i think that 3:57 is the part, with the most emotional hit in the song.

Its a incredible effort to produce this on this machine, unbelievable graphics and demo design. Who would have thought a 1982 machine could produce this ?
After a year from discovery of this tune, still can`t get enough of it. There is none SID on YT, that i beloved so much.
One of the best soundtracks I‘ve ever heard, and so in tune with the exceptional graphics.
Absolutely amazing demo! :-)

Best C-64 Musak ever made, for me! SID rules!!
Insanely well-produced SID tune. Much love :)
i absolutely love the change in music starting at 3.34
I always wished that Commodore would've released a C64 with dual SID's in it. Cool stereo tunes and sound effects at the same time in games might've become the norm. One can dream!

Modern boards does it now or also some SID-compatible chips.
This stuff is amazing, I must have watched this video about 30 times now and I just can't get enough of it, it's probably my favourite C64 demo, and the music is bloody fantastic! I'd sure love to hear more from the same composer, or at least more in the same style...

What does it mean 'demo'? Is it demo version of a game?
@ericorsio555
6 жыл бұрын
This might be a lot to explain, but I'm going to explain it briefly. This is not a game nor a demo version of a game. It is a non-interactive demonstration of what C64 can do through 6502 assembly. There are many great productions from the C64 demoscene, such as this one.

@@TrueNeutralEvGenius well, I'm russian, and in our language "demo" means "demonstration", which means "something you want to demostrate" (for example: demo of a game, demo of an application). This video looks more like a "piece of art" (such as music, picture, sculpture) than as a "demostration". So it is not my fault that somebody accepts a weird terminology. Concerning "stupid" questions - I see no lesser really stupid statements about Russia VS U.kraine. So first you'd better to heal yourself.

@@alextrezvy6889 No one here cares about your nationality and political agenda. It was about Demoscene. Demo was a known term, first demoparties were held in Russia since 80s and 90s, and in fact, я был одним из тех, кто эти Демопати впервые проводил в России. Не надо свою невежественность прятать за личиной национальности или каких-то других нелепых признаков. You could check the term and it's semantics easily with technologies there are today. Yet you are just writing bs and absurd justifications of your foolishness. Stop being so infantile, educate yourself.
Love how the music is perfectly synced to the effects. An awesome demo in every way. Thanks.

One of the greatest C64 Demos.
Maybe the best C64 demo ever.
As has been said, best SID tune ever written. And I've heard a lot! Other than that, very nice visuals in this demo and some really well executed routines. One of my top 3 demo's now, lets see if that changes soon..
Outstanding Tune....
I just love this song
Simply the best demo ever.
You gave me goosebumps ! Awesome job ! This is amazing
Beautiful
That guy with the Purple Screen reflection at 2:40 appears to be very iconic. I've seen many users of KZread and demoscene website use it as their avatars. I've even seen it on a T-shirt design

Is that not one of the best sounding sid tunes ever?
Can we find this artist somewhere? Like on Bandcamp?
Check out from 2:11 too ('She's up all night to the sun..')
intro effect rox !
The opening/ending arpeggiation appears to be taken from an old AHX tune: Gier Tjella - A new beginning. The songs are otherwise very different though!

too hype
those guyz know the secret: that is not about trying to proof that you can make codes on codes, push the tempo and blitz the viewer with 1000 tricks. That is al about the story, narration and proportions
Sound is awful, starts with superb echoed something - which is great! but then it quickly becomes something with too much echo/reverb/I don't know what more, let me switch that immediately off thing. No, that tune needs more respect, not that awful mastering, the mono version is better :) although I must admit in some places it works really well.
