Even warrior Monks that are truthfully engaging Kong Fu's life and discipline do not fight in any competition. Also is a totally different combat style. For example a Wing Chun fight would last seconds, ending with few broken bones. They train, they fight Sanda when they are young, but later on they just keep training and meditating, teaching this wellbeing tecnique to others. By the way, we could not lift up our Shifu from the ground pulling him up with our maximum strenght (thanks to his strong Qi), i would suppose it would be a thug Karate opponent.

Some of the practices and exercises tought in those WuShu/Karate schools are religious spiritual ceremonies. Faithful Christians/Jews/Muslims must be aware of that, if they ever plan to participate in intensive advanced Oriental martial arts training. Even if you are an atheist, you should oppose, by definition, to practicing various Taoist/Buddhist/Hinduist religious rituals. One cannot be a non-believer exclusively regarding Christian/Jewish/Muslim monotheistic practices, and consecutively dedicate many years of his life into practicing advanced esoteric Oriental religious rituals!

It was inevitable that shaolin monks incorporate muay thai and mma routines in their system, i've heard that this has been going on for a last 15 years.Without that they are just a demo performers, and thats has nothing to do with fighting, they realized that qi Isn't helping agains real fighter who fights on high level.

Yeah, off course they do pratice tecniques that are not allowed in any combat legal sport, like attacking vital organs, ball, neck and so on. Is just an old style to defend themself from the emperor trups at the time, and to balance the body. The forms are beautiful, all designed to attack bare hand a full geared soldier with different ancient weapons. I would style bet on my Sifu against a strong MMA fighter in a street fight with no rules , even if he is 30 kg less and 10 years more than him. They know of to break bones, quickly and effectivly, especially with Wing Chun

I respect traditional martial arts, cuz with out them every combat art is incomplete , but i'm also realistic

You cant put in relation a tecnique like Wing Chung with MMA (ground fight, jujitsu, etc), is a sport with rules not a free fight where you can hit neck, balls, (etc) of the opponent. One of mine 60 years old Sifu hit me close to the stomach without touching me, i was on the ground 5 minutes like i got a punch from a boxer. I thought too it was magic hoax, but staying and training there i definaly change my mind. Do you ever train with them? By the way, it all depends by fighters i supposed, but i am convinced a wing Chung master would break the opponent arm at the first few punches he tried on him, does not matter how big he is. Greetings from Italy

Hi, like i said i respect traditional martial arts, i'm kyokushin black belt, but also i've trained in dutch style of muay thai.I don't know man, picture tells a 1000 words, every fight that i watched where kung-fu and wing chun fighters fights real fighters ends disastrous for them. And from your video i saw that these guys wear traditional shaolin outfits but they kick and punch thai pads, so you must admit that something has changed in their routines.I think that's positive and realistic new approach.Oh we're neighbors, cheers from Zagreb Croatia

Lift the brick in order to be able to break it. Always the same trick.

this is me in the temple, not the perfect position to break it but good enough. There is tecnique (breathing, explosive power, etc) but is not any lifting or trick. kzread.info/dash/bejne/rHmgu9SMZayTYLg.html

I see a little lift, I mean, a little trick. Be honest to yourself.

try yourself;) is not hard, is physics (hitting it in the center has you was going trought it) plus strenght/speed. Anybody can do it with some training, i personally dont think the side lifted is the key :)

Also steel bar are not hard to break, did once when i was drunk, you must be convinced about and hit the bar in the middle with the top of the skull (they are not made of steel but iron "dust")

It depends of the kind of steel, the heat treatment, the alloy...
