jermaine johnson Leaf idk much about, but Tebow was projected to go in like the 3rd round. His release was slow and ugly, and his arm is awful. Manziel ran a wildcat offense, had no arm to speak off. Both were college playmakers, Mayfield is a quarterback.

Steven Williams Velocity at the combine measured and he hit 60mph, as much as mahomes, and right below josh Allen at 62mph. He's also had plays where he throws the ball 60+ yards in the air. Maybe football is going over your head?

Love you guys but please stop referring to his one off the field issue as ISSUES. It happened one time and it was a bad look. All his time at Texas Tech and OU he had one issue. He was jetting every weekend to catch a basketball game and partying like Manziel. There is no comparison from that standpoint.

All depends on the state and how much supply you have in the area. When I'm on the East Coast I'm getting $30 in Philly but when I'm in Oklahoma I get $60. You can do up to $1 a mlg in some places.

How do people just determine where someone will get drafted? Like oh he looks like a late 1st rounder, how? It varies year from year who picks late or early. A guys draft position is determined by the need of the teams at draft positions.

They factor all those things in. Plus they take the things teams look for and see who has what and does it the best. It's not a perfect science but it's usually in line with how the NFL teams see the talent for the most part. They don't just rank the players and throw them on the board, they look at who needs what and who fits that team best to see if they go there. Saying someone looks like 1st or 3rd round talent is just making a prediction of their upside based on what they're seeing now compared to past experiences in most cases. It's all speculation but based on the information available at the time.

baker was a 3 stars and unwanted recruit unlike others in sec or big 10 which were 4 or 5 stars. if he can win the heisman does it not tell you anything at all what he can do if given opportunity even in the nfl?

it's a mystery that so much / so little is known about this guy. So much potential there

If he sat for 2-3 years with good coaching, he’ll be very good.

I understand what you’re saying but I’m not everyone. There are numerous QB’s who I said simply wouldn’t be good irrespective of coaching. I personally see BM as a highly productive QB under the favorable tutelage. The question is if he’ll ever have that, among other things.

He has potentional. Only wotries are hes only 6 foot. He has average hand size and hasn't run a pro style offense but he can get experience and the offense with time.

I don't know if Baker will start or play much next year in the NFL. I do know that if he does, he's going to light some teams up. I said this about Cam Newton when everybody said he would be a bust. Last I've checked he's put together a successful career so far. I say the same for Baker. I do worry about his behavior, but I don't think he's at the level of craziness as johnny manziel (who lets face it was a complete embarrassment to himself). A few teams overlooked Deshaun last year and we saw what he's capable of at the next level, and I don't see Baker being any different. He's got the confidence, intelligence, and athletic ability to very successful.

As a patriots fan I hope the Broncos draft this guy

Baker Mayfield has the highest qb rating in college football this season over the last 7 years. The second highest is Mayfield from his 2016 season. He is elite. Get used to it.

bsp not a hater just joking. As a fan and former player he's actually a huge inspiration going from walk on to heisman winner and #1 NFL prospect but we've seen this before in football and basketball where someone dominates in college but can't cut it in the pros and with Baker's physicals I can't really get behind the hype he's gonna be mvp in his rookie year due to the jump in athleticism from college to pro. Not a hater just waiting for him to play in the league cuz that's all we can do. Rooting for him tho

Adrian in terms of draft stock. I do agree on it being factor for what coaches are looking for, but in terms of how you will be as a QB, it doesn't matter in my opinion. Jared Goff has small hands , still was drafted 1st overall and went to the Rams and balled out his Sophomore year. Is just doesn't matter in my opinion.

Bill Mitchell some short people are good at basketball. That doesn't mean that short people are just as likely to be good as tall people. The draft is about probabilities. Height and hand size DEFINITELY matter when making these decisions.

Baker Mayfield is a Jeff Garcia clone. He'll be a good QB, in the right system, and with the right coaching staff.. combined with a continued great work ethic.. However, if any of these fail him? He'll be a bust. Which is usually the case, with most failed, high drafted QBs. Which hopefully, Baker doesn't become a part of.

UGA fan here... I have respect for Mayfield, but I agree with Skip that the "Manziel" factor is in play. Any team picking him is risky.

Stefon Brandon If Mahomes starts next season, I don't think he will destroy everything in his path like Watson did, but with Tyreek Hill, Kelce, and Kareem hunt, that offense will be terrifying.

I’m not saying it’s the same exact case but I’m pretty sure they said the same thing with Aaron Rodgers. As a Packers fan, if he is available I’d love to see them draft him and let him develop behind Rodgers. I know we have a defensive need, but we also have a glaring problem at our future. Hundley doesn’t look like he’s our guy as bad as I wanted him to be. Mayfield may be that guy. He may be the next Aaron Rodgers who was looked over by countless teams and ends up being one of the best picks in this draft

Nobody has commented on the Freshman Quarterback that played for the"DAWGS". He was playing High School Football last year. You put a young Man playing Quarterback as a freshman for the College Football Championship, and he throws for 200 plus yards and 2 touchdowns, leading the team to a 12 wins and 1 lost season is not TOO BAD!! PLUS He was pretty composed doing it all season. Hang in there Jake Fromm.

The stats simply explain that he has been a great COLLEGE quarterback. His NFL potential only rests in his competitive nature, technique, and football IQ. He has played for pass happy coaches at both Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

I absolutely HATE Oklahoma, and Baker, but the kid reeks of star. Just fits the mold for franchise QB, but so did Jonny Football. Time Will tell. Big difference in Baker and Jonny, Manzel had cash his whole life, don't think Baker has it like that.
