So now that Luffy's Gomu Gomu No Mi reveal its true name Hito Hito No Mi : Model - Nika (Sun God), means it has a contrast which is darkness because Nika represents Light then its possible Oda-sensie will represent it as Yin/Yang which corresponds to Light/Dark. gomu gomu fruit was planned to have the most versatile power entire OP. He is not easy to chew. Enels electricity, Sengokus shock w fist doesn’t work on him and many more actually luffy can do but Oda put a barrier between the fruit and its ability which is Luffy himself. He never went to school, even kindergarten and doesn’t know what those features can do. Trafalgar law knows doctors stuff very well thats why he can do so many things with its ability even though it wasn’t meant to be for doctors. and I’m quite sure Luffy is laughing during Gomu Gomu awakening is he is now imagining those cartonny things he actually can do which he just did with kaido. Its luffy by the way, thats the first thing he will do, something looney, funny or stupid.

Its predicted luffy is there when fisherman island get destoyed. Guessing most fish-men aren't happy about idea of moving surface, because humans are there, so i think luffy destroy it purpose with shirahoshi. Then they don't have any other choice than move live under the sun and i guess that was joy boy original promise that time poseidon. This is what for noah is made to move fish-men their current place to land. Example. Levely arc shirahoshi mention she wanna live under the sun and also it was her mother otohime dream to emigrate fish-men sea floor to surface. I thought of a great one piece theory, so just like the “Going Marry” object can develop souls and some of Zoro techniques such as “Ashura” and “king of hell” is actually him tapping into his swords unconditionally. I think that his “Ashura” is actually him unconsciously connecting to his white blade “Wado Ichimonji” as well as the “king of hell” technique is actually “Enma” and the reaper he sees is the blades soul, and the next step to achieving a black blade. If you look at the Oden vs Kaido battle, Kaido uses a blast breath and oden was attempting to counter the move, but Oden started losing them pulled a new technique that allowed him to basically fly and it’s what led to him cutting Kaido. That could of been the, “ame no habakiri” which translates to “Feathery Cutter of Heaven” Which could make since that ability was him tapping into his sword. Now this reason has not evidence, but it would be cool if the reason Reighley got the name the “dark king” was because of a blades technique. I can’t think of anything else but if you managed to read this and can think of other examples please comment and like. It would be cool if this became a KZread video.

The way luffy stretches his body like rubber, and that one panel in chapter 1044 where Luffy's eyes pop out of his head really remind me of a western animation style that fits really well that really, REALLY old cartoons used to use... RUBBER hose animation

I think that luffy's devil fruit being a zoan(Myhthical) really make sense because there are times that he can be hurt by normal attack like when his crew beats him up when he does something stupid even though they are not using haki like nami. So in my theory luffy subconsciously turn himself into human and become rubber man only when he's fighting or purposely using it.

They created the smile smile fruit because kaido or "they" are trying to be joyboy. Putting smiles in people's faces albeit forced and unnatural. Shiryu technically would have disappeared from service because he was imprisoned on level 6. Maybe he told Who about Nika. Would also provide motive for blackbeard's recruitment on him and his acceptance and 2nd captain position...

The fruit in vegapunk's blueprint is not luffy's. The swirls on the blueprint fruit are simple spirals, whereas the model nika has spirals connected in S shapes. Still it may be a separate wukong-themed fruit

WHAT IF!!! Roger told Shanks before he died, that he will ask Garp to take care of his son and that's why Shanks came to the village where Garp grew up. In the hope he will find Ace there to give him the gomu gomu no mi (hito hito no mi - Nika), instead he found Luffy. So he decided to let Luffy eat the fruit. They stayed there for 1 year enough time to know what kind of kid Luffy is. That's why Shanks Bet on Luffy instead.

This chapter gives a hint about the secret of Initial D or the will of D. One of the gorosei mentioned that zoan types has will of their own.. on other translation of manga, it says devil fruits has will of their own. So D stands for Devil Fruit or just Devil.. Gorosei are considered Gods and of course the opposite of God is Devil. This is just my theory Btw

I think you're right with SMILE being attempts at the nika no mi (I reached the same conclusion reading the manga) but I think Kaido goes deeper. I think Kaido is an attempt to recreate Joy Boys body. We have hints that Joy Boy was a giant (the huge frozen straw hat) and experiments including gigantification (punk hazard, oars/oars jr) and we know Kaido escaped from a world govt science facility. Maybe Imu misses joy boy and is desperately trying to revive him as he was.

It would be out of character for luffy to change his mind when he decides on a name for anything. See tra guy or pineapple for example

They showed in one episode a guide with images of different devil fruit identifying them. Shanks knew that the fruit was the gomu gomu no mi from that book. I think it was also through that book that Blackbeard knew which fruits he wanted.

Luffy's JOYBOY power resembles to the Hindu god Hanuman. It was said once he went to catch the sun and flew near him but he was stopped by the Sungod and he locked some of his ability. Later Hanuman realises the powers and abilities he had and finally awaken to his full power. Even his powers are similar with Hanuman. Hanuman can increase his size, like luffy in gear 3rd. He can commend others like conqueror haki, Hanuman is a monkey god, luffy was quite mischievous like Hanuman. We all know luffy's father Dragon can control wind and weather and Hanuman's father is also the wind god Pavan. I think ODA took quite a lot reference from the Hindu mythology for luffy and I would say it was awesome and worth it.

We can’t imagine luffy to be like other characters but there are some similarities with Hanuman and his stories from India and as you said Oda might take some reference from wu kong too. So wild take because of what I keep seeing over the internet, is that Blackbeard probably has a Moon God fruit to parallel Luffy with the Sun God fruit.But what if instead of Blackbeard, it was Imu who had the Moon God fruit. Luffy is new JoyBoy, then his counterpart should also be the same as JoyBoy would be Imu as well. Everyone talks about Luffy will "bring the dawn" which implies that it is currently night, and who is controlling things and keeping the world in "eternal night": Imu. The one who rules the night, Imu the Moon. And Imu probably came into some power before the betrayal of JoyBoy due to his influence, kinda just how the Moon only shines due to reflecting the light of the Sun. Now besides the night references to connect to the Moon, the Moon is also associated with controlling the tides. And it is believed Imu is the one responsible for the presented day structure of the world, but what if it's more literal. As in, what if Imu being the Moon God fruit User actually rose the tides of the world to flood the world turning it into what is now. Only islands and a single strip of land, with vast oceans and powerful currents that could easily be controlled by a Moon God's power. The secret of the Void Century is that there used to be more land, continents, and the structure of the planet itself was different. Then the term "Celestial Dragons" could be that because they were given power by a Celestial Being or chosen by a Celestial Body like the Moon. The reason they wear space suits could be in reference to mankind's first exploration into space, which was the Moon. Then finally, if some project or operation Eclipse comes up in One Piece in response to Luffy awakening his Sun God fruit; I would double down hard one Imu being the Moon God User as the most popular Eclipse is a Solar Eclipse which is literally the Moon blocking out the Sun.

Luffy doesn't want to be Pirate King because he wants to rule over others but because the Pirate King has the most freedom. Throughout the series Luffy has always helped others achieve Freedom as well. Shanks main goal might have been to keep the world in balance and from destroying itself until Joy Boy returned. Shanks likely didn't know if Luffy was a candidate or not but decided to simply tell Luffy to follow his dreams and see what happens because he had truly grown fond of the boy.

@Digitech my theory was he was searching for one of the ancient weapons or something world changing that he didn't think anyone should have. It's also very possible that he was searching for Ace, he would have been one of the few who likely new about him. Or he was just taking a break for a bit.

Two of the ancient weapons are accounted for and we don't have the confirmation of the egg or anything else yet.

Personally, I hope that's not a matter of the devil fruit but a matter of merit instead. If it was the case of Luffy proving himself worthy of summoning the Will of D, then simultaneously awakening his devil fruit, it would justify the attempts of others to accomplish the same. Like, it wasn't useless, and they really had more to learn in order to complete the objective. Then Luffy could be a model for future generations, making another awakening after his passing an attainable goal.

I like how I don’t even read or watch one piece but I know a lot about it because I watch your videos.

How would a fight luffy vs blackbeard look like? luffy can turn everything he touches in comic like figures and applies his realityshifting new power on it blackbeard cancels every DF ability when he touches the user of it

I was just speculating, it could be a possibility. Being that Luffy is now the Sun God, and Enel went to the moon.. you never know. Nobody saw Hita Hita mythical zoan model Nika to be Luffy's true fruit.

What's funny is I'm just getting caught up in the anime; in the dressarosa arc momo ask luffy how to control his devil fruit power and luffy responds with "I wouldn't know my power isn't a zoan type." I'm not sure if that was foreshadowing but it definitely caught my attention when he said that.

What if shanks was joyboy who has fruit stolen in his time and got sent to the future to reclaim it, but while doing so found Luffy and entrusted him with it .

Sentimental but not factual, what makes him bet on Luffy ?

I personally think either roger told shanks or he learned but was taught the will of the fruit and maybe even told to give it to the next pirate king as its almost like fate it all follows alone with shanks because i do believe there is something more shanks is hiding but he might be hiding to grow luffy strength as if luffy knew about his fruit since the beginning he would probably have more strength I do believe this all ties around maybe after will get answers from zunesha and learn more about nika as he most have a tons of power and when we hear him it fits with them describing the zoan as having there mind of there own and what nika stood for

About Zoro, I rewatched the first episodes and saw a resemblence between the samurai and zoro. Samurai are able to hold their hunger for more than 10days just like zoro did in episode 2. In the chapter 1024, we get to see some samurai starving for more than 10 days and still going rampage just like zoro.

I also believe that Shanks didn't lie to luffy, however I do believe he intentionally withheld information about the fruit itself...going of luffy's personality. I also think he went to the Gorosei to inform them that he will be making a move against Blackbeard and they shouldn't interfere. (btw the Chopper disrespect is at an all time high! I freaking loved the chapter it gave me goosebumps but it occurred me yesterday that there is a plot hole here if gorosei knew about the power of luffy df shouldn't they have acted sooner like increasing luffy's bounty like to billion from starting or at some point before the time skip or sending an whole army to him including the admirals. Why are they reacting now?? Maybe I am missing something or forgetting but if not then this could be a major plot hole if oda don't give us a proper explanation for this

I mean he trained to the point his fruit was op. He had to reach a certain level to master this fruit and it’s not till he awakened that he started to enjoy it. His fruit wasn’t op from the start. He’s already at the level where he clashes with yonko s so he awakened at the perfect time imo

Great prediction. And thank you for keeping up glued to One Piece while they work things out. So Joy Boy was also user of the Hito-Hito no Mi model Nika. What would explain his death? How did he fail? Unless he didn't? The world turned against him and destroyed his kingdom. I don't think Sun God Nika is the type to force people into submission. But the people united and fought against him - forming the World Government. In order to show the people how good they had it. He uses his Nika powers to will himself to into the future, a future where the effects/efforts/intent of the World Government are truly manifest - where people are unhappy (controlled, discriminated against, manipulated, etc.). With people liberated, they can pursue their dreams. So what does the "D" stand for? Death. Dreams, Deception, Dancer, Determined, Dedicated, Defiant, Disciple, Denizen? At 18:34, you give the impression that "All Zoan fruits have a will of their own", does this mean, all Zoan types carry a will - the Will of D. So "Destiny" comes to mind as a potential for D.

If I'm not forgetting anything, I distinctly remember Shank's crew being the only ones who told Luffy his Devil Fruit's name and then Luffy himself just relays the same info he was taught. The name of the Gomu-Gomu no Mii was just spread around by both Luffy and the World Government to both his friends and his enemies. Meaning if Shanks deliberately hid the truth, then absolutely NOBODY could validate the actually name if it aside from the top brass of the WG and maybe Shank's crew. Information of DF identification has been a WG spread thing, so controlling it and misdirecting the truth is one way they control the limits of DF users.

Remember in elbaf island or island of giants where big mama came from, in one chapter it says about there was some huge disasters by “Sun god”. And we agree that straw-hats are going for sure going to elbafs and find some of the connections up there.

Now the final Match-Up between Luffy and Blackbeard makes even more sense. Darkness versus the Sun God

Im gonna make a wild bet that Hiyori was in the same chapter as luffy's awakening to either represent The Moon(Hiyori) and The Sun(Luffy),finaly Getting the High ground against the enemy. OR hiyori has ALSO someting important to show us, just as Luffy did in this chapter. But we will see it will later down the line. Maybe a Devil fruit!? I know....why now the reveal of Devil fruit ?I dont know but would be cool since they are for sure on the same chapter.

I'm gonna have to disagree with both of you reason is the Sun usually doesn't fight against the moon as I see it. See we still haven't seen zoro. There can come a part where zoro might play a role against kaido since his sword is the only one that can cut kaido, but the help of the Sun (luffy/nika) is required. And im gonna make a huge prediction years from now that the next moon will be Blackbeard(moon) with help of the luffy( sun) will beat Imu sama. See ying and yang dont fight each other. They coexist and are a compliment to one another.
