In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about Maratha Confederacy after the defeat in Third Battle of Panipat. Peshwa Madhav Rao was a popular leader but died young due to TB. Balaji Baji Rao’s brother Raghunath Rao act as a reagent during Madhav Rao’s regime but act against the Maratha interests and was house arrested. When Madhav Rao’s younger brother Narayan Rao became the Peshwa, Raghunath Rao plotted against Narayan Rao so that he could himself become the Peshwa. ये रघुनाथ राव बहुत ही महत्वाकांक्षी थे सदाशिव भाऊ के चचेरे भाई थे अगर 1761 के पानीपत के युद्ध में अब्दाली के खिलाफ सदाशिव भाऊ की जगह रघुनाथ राव को भेजा जाता तो ये पक्का जीतते इन्होंने कहा भी था कि मुझे ज़्यादा सेना और पैसा देकर पानीपत की लड़ाई में भेजो लेकिन पेशवा ने इनकी बात नही मानी।
