'Shamima Begum should come home', says terror watchdog
Shamima Begum and other British women who joined Islamic State should be allowed to return to the UK, a terror watchdog says.
Jonathan Hall KC, the reviewer of terrorism legislation, will argue that British women or those who are former citizens should be allowed to return from Syria because that is the position taken by allies such as the United States.
He is also set to raise concerns about a new generation of extremists being reared under the “cubs of the caliphate” programme in northern Syria during a speech at King’s College London on Monday evening.
Ms Begum was 15 when she travelled from Bethnal Green, east London, through Turkey and into territory controlled by the so-called Islamic State (IS) group in 2015, before her citizenship was revoked in February 2019.

'Allowed' to come back is the wrong word, she should be 'made' to come back; what she wants shouldn't matter. She is a British person who illegally entered Syria, so of course she should be deported, just as we would expect a Syrian to be deported who came here illegally to join a terrorist organisation bent on overthrowing the British government. She is our responsibility not Syria's, bring her back and punish her here if we must. We can't cleanse this country of bad people by removing their citizenship, we should accept that there are good and bad people here as in all countries and deal with the bad by punishment or rehabilitation. Or do we agree with the racists, that, people with traceable heritage to other countries are not fully British and their citizenship is only conditional, so that victories by Britons in the Olympics or as part of British teams are not full victories, achieved as they are by 2nd class Britons.

Shamima Begum, the radical Bangladeshi born in Britain is a British problem, says the African and the Arab born in Britain.😁😂
End of argument yes!
The only reason she's having such difficulties is her name and identity. There are many who even fought in such wars who are in UK now.
I do believe this girl has made the most appalling choices but one thing I do know is that not all 15 year olds are the same. The girl felt very isolated and didn’t feel part of this country due to racism and made the mistake that she would be accepted and loved elsewhere and able to be closer to her religion. She was stupid and wrong but really didn’t know what she was doing. Also when she talked about the heads in bins she had to say it didn’t affect her because the women in the camp WOULD have beaten her. When a 15 year old feels isolated they may run away with someone or anything as their emotions are so high. Those that say their 15 year old is stable and would never do such things, they are lucky because they probably came from a very happy and content family environment and no external issues. This does not mean she isn’t wrong but a 15 year old has a completely different mindset especially when so unhappy than say an 18 year old or something. This girl needs to be tried somewhere but she will be a totally different person now to that of her 15 year old self. She was stupid and underestimated where she was going as well. She definitely needs to be imprisoned somewhere although she believes herself that she will never leave the camp ever.
Yes… you cannot leave a citizen stateless. We need to deal with our own problems, and she is one of them. We wouldn’t tolerate other countries just dumping their criminals on us. This is a hypocritical stance on the part of the UK.
