Shameless is a brilliant show. 1 one of my all-time favorites up there with Dexter and Breaking Bad

@@user-um4ki5xj7y The British show was copied and made American. Too British? it's set in Britain in a British council estate. The american one is a typical shitty rehash of a British show - All the actors are good looking, nobody has any real character or soul. Bland popcorn show.

Favourite show, thanks to all the actors who put so much time and effort into it

How did I miss this? I guess I know which show is jumping to number one in an ever growing never ending "to watch" list

This TV show is one of the few masterpieces that I've had privilege to watch with so much Heartbreak pain and suffering humour and Shameless acts always seem to make a better

I First met this show only one year ago. I was having dinner with my parents and decided to put the first episode on Amazon Prime (such an error). I was so embarrassed and switched to something else. I thought it was too much of everything. Too strong, too violence, too many bad words, too drugs. So, I turned back to the same old zapping over many shows, never finding one I truly appreciate. I know most people can understand: you simply have too much choice on streaming platforms. You end up starting series and never finish them, over and over in an endless loop. It was two months ago that I decided to give this show another chance, just because it was on the top rated list on Prime video. Well, I found out it's a fascinating portrait of life, it's simply stunning and amazing how it describes situations that can happen to anyone. It's hilarious and made me cry at the same time, on countless occasions. Gave me, an Eu citizen which has never been to US, a full portrait of society and humanity that moves people to do what they do. This series is pure gold and art, it's quickly becoming my favorite show of all times. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

I haven't watched the UK version, only the US. I watched like the first episode of UK and it certainly didn't fit my taste, but I may go back and watch it again and sit through more than half the first episode. It took me two episodes to get hooked in the US version, actually. So while I can't say much about the UK version, why do people hate the US's version? The show released such raw emotion with a mix of drama, romance, and comedy. All the characters are portrayed by amazingly talented actors. It creates a spectacular atmosphere for a poor, lower class, highly dysfunctional family that no matter how pissed they are with each other, they'll group together again in the end. While their clothes aren't torn, and they wear make up, and they look in shape, they are a poor family. They aren't homeless. I have multiple friends who are extremely poor and they are still in shape, wear make up, have decent clothing. The family has the squirrel fund to keep themselves together, and if something happens to their squirrel fund, they're fucked. Lip said it himself, "You hide the god damn money!" They portray real-life issues that most people don't give a shit about. The show perfectly shows a family in need of a helping hand, where many people can relate to the struggles of the family. Each and every character has so much depth and complexity. So... I don't really understand how people can dislike it.

British people prefer the original UK one, normally people in the US prefer the US one. I suppose the British one hits British people in the right areas and they can relate to it more and I'd assume the same with the US one.

The British one is actually genuine. Has real characters and is relatable. The US Version is like every other US version of something. Watered down, all the actors are good looking, feels fake and not genuine.

I will start to watch this show tomorrow. Hope I enjoy this🤭

I watched this story of turkish version and i loved it , but this look orginal one british version so will have different lifestyle and culture but i love the story nice drama

Just finished the series last night on netflix. In the last episode, I don't know why tears welled up when the flashback scene started with Frank in a dying state. Perhaps it's because I watched them grow up in this series. It's too bad Fiona wasn't in the final episode, and funny how Debbie appeared in my dream last night. In the dream, she walked in the hallway and took the paper that Frank wrote for them. I guess I'm just too sad that they didn't read the letter that Frank wrote for them. To be honest, I feel sorry for Debbie and Phillip because they didn't seem to get any happy ending, especially Phillip. I thought he would be the one to change their family's fate, but I was totally wrong. Althought the ending is not like what i imagined, it added a realistic and unexpected twist that left me reflecting on the character journeys throughout the series.. T.T

*Ok. The UK version has British comedy which is not understood or translated well by outsiders. The US version does seem to be a good American show, so if this was an original show and not just a remake, period it’d have gotten less hate.*
