Love the way you teach And your explanation. Excuse me, but I am old, but to prepare us for the proficiency certificate in English of the university of Cambridge we studied when to use shall and will.
Gill is a true example of why the UK has always been known as GREAT BRITAIN. She is totally adorable, engaging and commands your full attention as the lesson progresses. Gill is completely calm and talks beautifully, and the viewer is drawn into listening to every word she says, and at the same time enjoying learning the lovely English language. God bless you Gill, you are a treasure ❤️

Absolutely agree with you RG. I love Gill's teaching style which is superior to many others'styles these days. Gill doesn' t have to scream loudly or yell senselessly like many younger English instructors online.

In the old days of England, these ladies who would never tolerate foreign neighbous speaking wrong English used to invite the neighbours over a tea with a nice invitation card and gave them free English lessons.

Thank you for your lessons. I was born in ex-USSR space and when i was 40 yo I've moved to US. And however, I'm watching a British lessons, they are also helps me to understand an American English.
The old grammar books gave the example of the man in the pond. He accidentally said "I will drown and no one shall save me!" . So he drowned. (He ought to have said "I shall drown and no one will save me!" had he been hoping that he be saved.)
Dear Gill, I really love your scarves you wear on each video. Honestly, you're such a sweetie. God bless you, lots of love, and respect and admiration, from the USA, from a retired mother from of 9 children, one husband, and 11grandchildren, for you and your fun, clean and inspiring channel. I spent from 1987 until 2019 homeschooling all our children. I felt so privileged to be their teacher in every academic and special arts classes. I never tired of it. I enjoyed it completely. May you keep abounding in your passion for this channel, you've made it unique, and your teaching is laid out with the easiest learning techniques in mind, and you yourself, your style, personality, color, are a sensation in itself. I just finally had to take this moment, after years of watching your videos to write in the comments and let you know my warmest thoughts. Susan

Thank you miss Gill, I am learning little by little and the moment only I can say it, I am a latinamérica ☺.
My personal approach to ‘shall’. Shall has got at least three different meanings. 1. It refers to future actions in general and replaces ‚will’ 2. It refers to a very subtle obligation or an obligation someone is willing to follow voluntarily 3. It refers to an obligation in a legal context
Love your teaching. It's clear and very useful. Thank you.
Nice to see you Gill, with another lesson! We missed you.
I from Brazil, I love your English class. Thank you.
I have been listening to u for a long time ..i admire u so much...a million of thanks❤
In my childhood, we used Eccersley book sets where explaining future tense was just 'I/We shall', and I saw 'shall' fully written in the formal letters. Never in colloquial English. Only as you explained, shall I/we [do something]. My youngest children never saw "shall" in their school books!
The best teacher of English I have ever seen
Shall - a hint of hesitation and Will - is affirmation. That is also one of the thing that I learnt during my school days.

Is there any hesitation in the phrase 'The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States'? Maybe another guy can be Commander in Chief?
It reminds me of a song "Shall we dance...shall we danse 🎵" The King and I, with Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner.🤣😘 Thanks for the lesson

Hello Gill! Thanks for this lesson. In fact shall reminds me so much of The Ten Commandments. Like Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife and likewise. Thou shalt not steal etc.
It was a very helpful video. I was always confused with the usage of will and shall. I like your voice tone and accent. It is really easy to follow. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the class.
Wonderful class. Greetings from Brazil
Gill, thank you for explaining the difference between 'shall' and 'will.' When I was in high school, my English teacher became concerned because my writing included "old" vocabulary like "shan't." I had to update my writing style and vocabulary which I'd learned by reading the classics.
Thank you for this lesson!
Gill, thanks for the lesson on when to use 'shall' and 'will'. Is, Should I book the tickets? better? Clearly, its is a question not a suggestion that shall conveys.
