And he did it just by being himself. I mean, an act based on 1950s nostalgia could so easily have gone into cheesy, over-the-top pastiche but he managed to quite skilfully avoid that, in my opinion.

Hey, just today was listening to your fantastic song again on BR 1 Radio Bavaria. I never ever will forget your song, it was my time with youth and the 1980´s. Now with 62 today I was driving down our country roads and your song was playing! I have a severe broken shoulder and after 3 months on the way of recovery. I will put your song to my daily exercise to get my shoulder and right arm working again. Thanks Shakin Stevens out ouf Free State of Bavaria within Germany!

I love this song as it reminds me of the great tunes that came out in 1981, my favourite year of music. I wish they would still play it on radio, seeing it was number one for 3 weeks and in the top ten for a lot more.

I honestly love the 50s revival scene from the early 80s, absolutely great music.

I love this song since my Childhood and now I am 52 and still love it!!! ❤️❤️❤️Shirley is also my favourite, but this song is my very best beloved!!! ❤️❤️❤️👆🏻

I think we were all a bit too cool for school back then so really great pop music was a secret pleasure for many people BUT NOW, now we’re living in this modern techno hell nightmare where no one has any style, class or talent at all, we can really see how fantastic, uplifting and brilliant so much of the music from the past truly was. This song by Shakin Stevens still sounds amazing today.

Feel so lucky to have been born at a time when I could grow up listening to the last of the real music, sung by real singers. Sadly now, though, all those artists from my youth are dying now, but their music will live forever.
