What happened?
They didn't include the dog that Neuville hit in the first shakedown killing it. Rest in peace dog.

@@84gabryy I tuned into the shakedown on KZread live, within the first minute of watching, unfortunately the dog ran into the road. There was nothing the driver could do. Neuville tried to avoid it and it was the first thing he mentioned in his interview and he said it was unfortunate. I just wrote my original comment on order to give some archival context for people in the future. And yeah, I am totally in agreement that it was not a highlight. I mentioned it mainly because within about 30 seconds of me clicking onto the live KZread stream, I saw it happen and it was just very unfortunate timing, that I ended up but watching any more shakedowns.

What’s the ground clearance on these cars?

Depends on which rally they are driving. On rough rallys like Kenia they have more clearance then on smooth asphalt like Japan. It can even change within the same event for different stages. If your question is about the dog, the ground clearance is not enough to let it pass underneath unharmed.

Unfortunately a stray dog was in the racing line and Neuville hit it and probably kill it :((
