UN-believable. I spent so many years trying to figure out this song. I probably heard it in Early 85 while still in the second year of secondary school (would have been 13 going on 14 at the time). Absolutely loved it back then and it has been popping up in my head over the decades. Then I was trying to search 'Scout In The Street' a few times over the last decade or so, and just couldn't find it. And now, I'm laughing because it is Shakatak. Must have been my brother playing this on the record player back then because he had some Shakatak. I've waited years for this moment. I was honestly starting to think I might not ever hear it again. Managed to knock two tunes off that list in one evening. The other one was 'Julia And Company' with the song 'Breakin Down'. I love the internet.

Back in the day, Shakatak were all you ever used to hear on the radio back in the early eighties. They were that good! Their music is typical of the period. Jazz funk, slappy bass with some lead guitar and keyboards from Bill Sharpe. They had few changes in their line up, but it didn’t dampen their amazing ability to churn out the hits. Loved em and as so many still keep saying, there ain’t nuffink like it out there today more’s the pity!

Yet only got to number 9 in the UK charts
Great track from back then love all jazz funk tracks. This was during my RAF days takes me right back to great discos on the base. Always lots of locals come there too there were no discos around, so the base was the place to be.
who's watching for this in 2019 ? Qui regarde ça en 2019 ? Les nostalgiques de la belle époque sans doute...

I was 13... and I remember when this beautiful plays everywhere... ❤️
In1984 I still loved jazz tinted disco music, a genre that was officially dead & buried in july 1979.
Shakatak since 1983... only the Best ..
Great song. The times when we had quality music.

An amazing song. I think it was an underated band. By the way, the dancers in white and yellow are very beautiful.

First time I heard this I was on a high school exchange trip to Geneva Switzerland. Immediately bought the cassette so I could listen on the way home.
A shame the official video isn't on KZread, it's all done in one continuous shot, very clever.
Amazing
Big fan since I was 12 years old back in 1982

Looking for the TOTP clip where the then BBC DJ Simon Bates introduces Shakatak and their new song then helpfully points out how hot he finds the singer!
One of the best disco songs ever made!!!
