@@atomiceman1239 I'm not sure Lasco will be a factor at trials. He has shown tremendous growth, but a lot of Cal swimmers aren't nearly as good Long course as they are short-course. Seeing how good he is off the walls, makes me fear the worst. He beat Casas off each wall except the start...

@@verward walls are still important long course, just half as important. that being said I do agree that the 'above the water' speed Casas displayed implies that he'll be a threat come long course, maybe challenging Murphy? regardless, united states backstroke is looking prime coming into these olympics, but they'll have their fair share of international competition given the 2019 world championships results

Kelly Mojica i was so sure that the 200 im, 100 and 200 back, 200 breast, 500 free, and the mile were all in jeopardy

@SpaceQuackHD What team are you talking about? Cal had Seeliger on, so it's not them.

@Kelly Mojica I don't think it's covid directly, but sort off indirectly. Basically all teams except Texas and Cal went all-in on the conference meets. I think that for a lot of swimmers the double taper didn't work out very well. For some reason Whitley (who was the only person on texas/cal who had a shot at a record) didn't have a great meet (don't roast me pls). But if you look at the year as a whole, it was actually really fast, just NCAAs wasn't fast.
