M . Y Sufism or Tawassuf is integral part of Islam, it's the inner spiritual dimension of Islam. And sorry but the opinion Music is prohibited is indeed majority but it doesn't mean there are no opinions in favour of Music from classical scholarship. Imam Al Ghazali (rah) gave a fatwa according to which music is permissible in certain conditions like that of meditation as practiced by Sufis, similarly there are many scholars who have considered music permissible. Your aqeeda is not universal, there is difference of opinions. And if you're to quote Hadith then you should know most of the Hadiths which seem to prohibit music is Daef i.e. weak thus can't be used to declare it prohibited, rest of the Hadiths have other interpretations which don't necessarily lead to total prohibition of Music, in fact we have other narrations where Prophet s.a.w had permitted use of instruments.

Soumya, beautiful name, There is nothing to stay afar from Islam as it says we are all created from one soul. It is a matter of self introspection and soul searching. Finding the answer truthfully for how did we come here, why are we here and where are we going? Chapter (4:1) People, have fear of your Lord who has created you from a single soul. From it He created your spouse and through them He populated the land with many men and women. Have fear of the One by whose Name you swear to settle your differences and have respect for your relatives. God certainly keeps watch over you.

There are almost 2billion humans in our region. One quarter of worlds population. Now imagine we all worked together, supported each other and produced together. We would had been a Superpower. We didnt need any oil fields, gas wells or diamond mines. Our workforce alone would had been our asset. Unfortunately, we have failed to recognise our potential in the fog of religious hatred.

sufis did great job spreading islam in the sub continent .their teachings brought change in the communities toward their life and strengthening their spritual believes.they were so strong in their character that rulers like akber and many others used to moved to their shrines bare footed.they were at a very high level of spiritual believes. very close to allmighty allah.this foreigner qawali group fana fi fan did great job to pay them tribute in best possible way.salute to all of them.extra ordinary table beats at this very occasion by amina.congrats .i never enjoyed qawali that much and tabla played vital role.

sehwan sharif where this shrine is situated is highly conservative area no women can even think to dance among hundreds of men surrounding her.but actually its not dance we call it dhamal .a situation where a woman or man is so much under the influence of mystic music and the lyrics that his or her body starts moving in a special way and it keeps on increasing on the higher side of the beats.you can say for certain time period your body is not under controle of your brain and totally under the influence of your soul.excellent performance and thumbs up for cinematography for showing faces of that culture.

For those who don't know : They are singing about a very famous 12th-13th century Sufi Saint - _Lal Shahbaaz Qalandr_ who was born in Maiwand, Afghanistan, his family was originally from Baghdad, Iraq but he spent most of his life in Sevan, Sindh, medieval India. He travelled all across the North-Western front of Hindustan to spread Sufism. After his death the Indian Poet _Amir Khusrow_ from the courts of _Alauddin Khilji_ of Delhi Sultanate, wrote this piece of Poem (sung as a Qawwali) in his honour. However Khusrow passed away before completing the piece, thereafter the rest of the poem was completed by renowned Punjabi Poet _Bulleh Shah_ from the same era. To honour Lal Qalandr people across India and Pakistan sing this Qawwali. The signature lines of this Qawwali goes like this : _"O Laal meri pat rakhiyo bhalal Jhule Laalan" (x2)_ "O red robed Lord, may I always be protected" (x2) _"Sindhri da, Sevan da Sakhi Shahbaz Qalandr"_ "O Lord of Sindh and Sire of Sevan" _"Duma Dum mast Qalandr"_ "My breath is for the Jubilant Saint" _"Ali da pela nambar"_ "The Lord is above us all!" _"Ali Ali Dum Dum ke andar"_ "The Lord is inside us all!" _"Duma dum mast Qalandr"_ "My breath is for the Jubilant Saint" _"Sakhi Shahbaaz Qalandr"_ "O Noble Saint" *Fun Fact:* here in the poem, you can see Lal Qalandr being referred to someone called "Jhulelal" many times. This ref. is made to the God of Hindu Sindhis - "Jhulelal" (God of Indus River), many Muslim Sindhis believe that Lal Qalandr is none other than but the re-carnation of Jhulelal only.

Been to Sehwan a few times while growing up in Hyderabad, Sindh. My mother's family comes from Sehwan Sharif. This brings back memories of childhood for me. Every kid knew this song and everyone knew Sindh to be the land of sufis. Isis can bomb them but they are already lost to Oneness, they just freed their bodies. All waves emanate from the same ocean indeed. This battle within Islam will be won by love eventually.
