Vianey Clevenger yes, to be a muslim, say the Shahadah, you can say it to in your room, anywhere, it is preferable to have witnesses from the muslim community, but not a must, The Shahada can be declared as follows : “ASH-HADU ANLA ELAHA ILLA-ALLAH WA ASH-HADU ANNA MOHAMMADAN RASUL-ALLAH”. The English translation is : “I bear witness that there is no deity (none truly to be worshipped) but, Allah, and I bear witness that Mohammad is the messenger of Allah.”

As Salam Aliakulm Elizabeth welcome to Islam! Yes! I would be glad to help you! There are 5 daily prayers that muslims pray! And before each prayer muslims do a washing technique called Wudu! You can look here on youtube on how to do the steps of wudu! The prayer schedule for 2016 can be found online or you can ask any Muslim from a mosque about what the prayer schedule is! And only if you are able do so go to Mecca at least one time in your lifetime! Yes you can get an Arabic Quran and a Arabic Islamic Language book from your local mosque or ask any Muslim how you can get one! With me being a new muslim my self I only know a little Arabic! As Salam Aliakulm is a greeting that muslims say upon greeting each other it means peace be with you and we return the greeting by saying Walakulm as salaam! And Inshallah means God willing! I remember how difficult it was for me at the beginning and how much I wished I had someone to guide me so I thought I should message you about this account called reverthelp on tumblr. They have been helping reverts out from all across the globe for quite some time. I ended up reciting my shahada with them and they even helped me out with how to deal with my family. Thank you. I have been feeling unsure what Faith I wanted to follow. What Path, I was married to a Muslim Woman for 12 years, since we separated I have been feeling lost, maybe even a bit angry. But I realized I was just scared, lonely. Islam always seemed to show up in my life when I needed something to make sense. It always seemed to fit, and I always felt and projected goodness when it was in my heart. I want to practice reciting the Shahadah, I want to show my children the faith and what it means to me.

+Marvin McHardy listen my friend, faith mean that you believe in six thing that we have it in Islam: 1-Belief in one God 2) Belief in the Angels 3) Belief in God’s Revealed Books 4) Belief in the Prophets and Messengers of God 5) Belief in the Day of Judgment 6) Belief in Divine Predestination which mean: (The belief in Divine Predestination includes belief in four things: 1) God knows everything. He knows what has happened and what will happen. 2) God has recorded all that has happened and all that will happen. 3) Whatever God wills to happen happens, and whatever He wills not to happen does not happen. 4) God is the Creator of everything.). Also you have to prove your faith by your indeed thats mean you can not be muslim with out indeeds such as: 1) The Testimony of Faith: The testimony of faith is saying with conviction, “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur rasoolu Allah.” This saying means “There is no true god (deity) but God (Allah),1 and Muhammad is the Messenger (Prophet) of God.”. 2) Prayer 3) Giving Zakat (Support of the Needy) 4) Fasting the Month of Ramadan: 5) The Pilgrimage to Makkah. if you need to any help please contact me.

As salaam alaikum everyone i hope your ramadan is amazing Insha' Allah. I really need some help tho. When i was 16 years old I met a Muslim in freshman year at high school he was 15. We became friends but soon after I had to move away. But before I left I ask him about the Shahadah. He told me what it was in english and I decided to say it to him. I was really young and I didn't know what I was getting in to and what it really meant (the feeling of those special words). When I left the school we lost contact and i couldn't pursue it. My whole family are Christian and they don't like Islam. especially my dad. so i locked it up. But now I'm 20 years old and i have been really looking into it. I now know what I say and mean and I feel the words when I say the Shahadah. Im really scared because I didn't follow the ways of Islam, never prayed never read the Holy Quran. I didn't do anything for five years... Im scared because I ruined my new birth.. My pureness.. Everyday I think about this and the level on being scared rises.. I know Allah (swt) is most forgiving, most merciful. But I know i can't take advantage of that. This all leads up to these two questions.. Did my Shahadah count even though I didn't understand it fully? Can I take my Shahadah again and still be reborn? Please, Insha'Allah someone help me with my two major worries. Islam is for everyone. The Creator created everyone. Islam belongs to the Creator, whatever Creator created is ours to take but in a way the Creator prescribed. So we spend this life the way he prescribed for us. The peace you get after that is immense. You wont know it until you try it. We try everything, why not give Islam a try? Live according to islamic principles for one day and you will understand alot about it. You may or may not accept it but will understand alot.

Geek Sheek If you want to become muslim you have to believe that there is no god except allah and muhammad is his messenger. and Jesus is his messenger. ( if you say it and believe this words in you heart, you are muslim)

I've read the Qur'an a few times and all the major religious books. The Qur'an is so true and pure from Muhammad peace be apon him that I have taken my vows and I was raised in a roman catholic family and yes I am white. Salam Alaykum, I loved your comment but you said "pure from Muhammad..." which I was a bit confused about. Could you probably explain what you meant by that, because I may have misunderstood. The Qur'an is the pure word of God and was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The most important belief of Islam is the oneness of God; monotheism. This is what is mentioned in the first part of the Shahadah (as taught in this video), when one says "Ashhadu an laillaha illAllah" which is translated to "[I testify that] there is no God but Allah". The second mentions that "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah". What I would suggest to you is to go to a Mosque and to speak to someone knowledgable about the religion. try not to go online; this is not the best thing to do. There are a whole lot of hate-sites and much like that; basically with the intention of sending people away from Islam. Unfortunately, these much of the time receive the top-searches on google; they will be there first when you search topics on Islam and send nothing but falsehood even to those really interested in the religion. Because of this, I would really suggest going to a Mosque and speaking to someone there. They would be more than happy to help you in anything that you need. For now though, I do know some websites that are good. I suggest this one: www.islamreligion.com If you scroll down, or on the left side bar, you can see a bunch of options to choose from. Read through some of those articles as they contain the basics of Islam, and lots of things that may help you. Ah you are correct I didn't noticed that I forgot to put "pure translated by Muhammad (peace be upon him) from God" my mistake. I should have reread what I wrote. Sister if you can ask for a help of someone, family or a friend, things can be easier. You need to ask someone you can trust to go to a mosque, and ask for an Imam. The Imam can help you because they are qualified to do so. You can pray to Allah no matter what you situation is. The imam can help you out and will teach you.
