I'd rather see this than the main show. They may actually care about character development, and along with that, we may actually see things progress as far as relationships and identity reveals go.

Here's how I think it should go, a 1 season minseries showing how it all started, showing us some general story about Betterfly's battle with them, then give us maybe a Seaon 2 or special showing them dealing with the Supreme in their world, maybe AFTER the main show has dealth witht he Supreme.

The Shadybug and Clawnoir spin off is just so much better than the current timeline not gonna lie.

Honestly if they make a spin-off of that world, I don’t think it would be a PG show. With the stuff they’ve described, it’s all heavier than the dark moments we’ve seen in the main timeline. I think a spin-off would be perfect for the older half of the fan base. It should be a 12… maybe 15 at a push? I wanna see the grime and grit of what goes on in that universe!!!

Oh, if only they wanted I'm sure they'd be able to make it PG while still being awesome. Look at the Paris special: the scene where Shady and Claw pass through the portal is a prime example. Shady carrying the ripped-off head of Markov/Max perfectly gives you the "evil guys" vibe, stuff has become serious! At the same time it's still PG, it's not an actual severed human head, it's a robot, it can be repaired. The whole Paris special is an example of what these writers can do when they REALLY put their mind into it.

The thing that really got me emotional when watching this special is the fact that Adrien and Gabriel are working together in Shadybug and Claw Noir's universe. It's just so darn wholesome that they're allies instead of enemies. It is very touching that Shadybug, Claw Noir, and Betterfly are all working together.

I like how the Butterfly 🦋 is good, and the Supreme actually sounds like a threatening villain.

If they make a spin-off of Betterfly's world, they maybe could solve a problem Astruc has: The division of Astruc's vision of a purely kids show and the reality of having a big older fanbase. While they are likely to continue to let the original show follow the standard formula just with a new Hawk Moth, the older fanbase could switch to the spin-off with more potential and where many core critics of the older fanbase are no more, like: No more big reveal, no stalker Marinette, a useful Gabriel as a useful mentor, an actually antagonist, an interesting interaction between Ladybug and Cat Noir (more than this one love square) but also Adrien and Gabriel, no more ignoring of all mistakes and crimes the main protagonists (especially Marinette) do,... and a plot which leads to something.

I 100% agree that the spin off series would do so much more than the original since the fan base is young adults. I would love to see how AU Marinette’s life is, how they got their miraculous, Marinette not into Adrien, what her alternative career is & school life. I like how the fandom do believe that they are the type to cuss & enjoy it. However I would want to hire writers that won’t mess up the series

I’ve always said, little girls love angst. But genuinely the Miraculous fandom has ALWAYS thrived off of the balance of Fluff with a heavy dose of ANGST. This special was just purrrfect

Also the fact that Shadybug and Claw noir know each others' real identity would make the spin off more intense and have some interesting moments.

This Special revived my hope for this show. That's how good it is!

OG Miraculous has so much potential in going to darker themes with stories about trauma, bullying, grief or mental health issues. All of this is sprinkled in the series, but was marginalized, because "this is a kids show for 7 years old" and "has to be sweet". Reverse special is a darker take on MLB fans were craving for ages - of course everybody are hyped out. That would be terrible slap on the face and "we have got Miraculous in home" situation if we never see these characters again.

I've been wanting to really reboot this series for these past many years and have completely new artists write this show, and this could be that opportunity. They're evil at first, but then they try to survive in a dystopian world while trying to save humanity, Marinette and Adrien have a relationship that feels natural, and, Merinette has difficulties in her daily life like a real superhero. Her family is shit, most of the kids at school are bullies, etc. Also supreme knows their identities and they both know their identities. It's a great opportunity, my hopes have risen for the series that I haven't been excited about for a long time. Finally, I hope his disgusting costume will be changed so that the buns on his head can come back. The black clothes didn't have to go, they're pretty cool.

Outside of the budget, if it’ll suffer from the same writing quality as its counterpart, it may not be the greatest idea ~

I’m honestly really hoping the supreme is the hidden main villain of the next season. At the end of the finale we see Lila with the butterfly miraculous, but then something glowing comes at her. There’s a possibility it could be the supreme, trying to take control of another universe. This way, the story could tie to the other world and the characters from the reverse special could make another meaningful appearance:)

That's my theory. Coz the lil glowing portal at the after credits scene with Lila looked like a portal from another dimension.

I think the best outcome for a spin off in the Reverse AU would probably be a comic series. It would be less resource intensive to make, the pacing of the story could be optimised, and the characters dynamics plus the setting of the work could explored in an interesting way, and Astruc also doesn’t have to worry that much about it overshadowing his main show.

Here's the reason why I'm ok with them not making a spin-off... Miraculous has a reputation for ruining things... If they make a spin-off, they could end up ruining the characters XD

The Supreme (evil Fu?) could be Astric’s chance to have an actual villain instead of the joke that Gabe turned into.

The only thing I think I would change about this special is that it is set during Gabe's arc. I think it would have been cool to see them arrive after his defeat, and our main heroes are surprised to see alternate Gabe. Then Betterfly reveals himself to be alternate Gabe, and Adrian eventually comes to the realization that our Gabe was Monarch. But, twas not to be. It's fine, still a good special.

the other universe shadybug and claw noir know each other identities. this means their fights with the supreme could be totally different. But i still say Ubiquity's design was the best in the entire show. That means when Ubiquity is around that means every Alya in the entire multi-verse is transformed at the same time.

I think a spin-off Shadybug and Claw Noir would be amazing as long as they maintain the same good quality storytelling as they did in the special itself. It would be interesting to see the life Shadybug and Claw Noir have now as heroes with Hesperia as their mentor and friend (say what you want but as far as I'm concerned Hesperia sounds better than Betterfly). It could also show the struggles the two face with new transition like trying to let go of the fear of their past mistakes and adjusting to new things like making friends which might not come as easy as it was with Ladybug and Chat Noir, so it's a step by step journey for them qoth each adventure. It could also be a good opportunity for Hesperia and Claw Noir to heal their bonds as Gabriel and Adrien. We could also see who the Supreme is although I'm guessing that it's Master Fu. They could do somewhat the same thing with the other miraculouses that they did with Shadybug and Claw Noir where the Supreme seeks out an individual or one of the other kids if they aren't part of the resistance who are filled with pain and resent by some tragedy and give them one of the other miraculouses and after maybe two, three or encounters, Hesperia, Ladybug and Claw Noir are able to help them in some way and they join the resistance too and begin a journey of their own healing too. Or they could make the other miraculouses scattered around Paris under the assumption of being simple jewelry which Hesperia for some time has been trying to gather before the Supreme does and it is revealed that he does indeed have a few so far which wasn't revealed in the special because he was maybe still studying them on how to awaken the Kwami as the Supreme could have done something to them before they were lost. It could also be a mix of both ideas where the Supreme has some of the miraculouses and others are scattered across Paris. Either way, whatever they do, all I ask most importantly is that they maintain good quality storytelling.

Well they explicitly say that only the Supreme owns the Miraculous and that those that hold them (Shadybug, Betterfly, etc) all got their Miraculous from *him*, so I think it's very clear that they aren't just scattered about.

Oh, you are DEFINITELY not the only one! I want a spinoff of these two so badly! I think the romance alone would be interesting. I'd also love to see if Chloe is any different, how much worse she is in the other universe.

There's also so much potential to develop other characters as well, like imagine villian versions of our hero gang that come as a result of taking advantage of their struggles, or getting to see other adult villians using the kwamis since gabe said he wasn't the only elite allowed to have this access, there's so much potential to allow more characters to get development in this timeline who dont in the usual. And oof, this timeline could do so much for gabe and Adrien. Adrien seeing BF as a father figure, wishing he was his dad instead without realizing its his dad all along. A chance to bring them closer together without realizing it. The ideas are off the charts.

Honestly, I don't think we should get a spin off of Shadybug and Claw Noir for two reasons. The first being that these writers have proven time and time again that stuff like this is the exception, not the rule so they'll mess it up in just a couple episodes. The second being that while the world they came from is pretty bleak, which doesn't fit the tone of the show at all, meaning that they could easily just make the heroes win now that Shadybug and Claw Noir are good guys now, which robs the premise of most of its punch as it could easily just end up a copy of the main timeline with just cosmetic difference.

Making a spin-off does indeed require a LOT of budget, but I'm pretty sure that's only part of issue. The other part isn't even an issue at all, for us fans, that is. It's an issue for Thomas Astruc, who most likely won't make the spin-off not just because it's expensive, but also because he's worried that the spin-off will overshadow his show. A lot of people said that they like the AU characters more than the OG characters, and they were curious about that Supreme character. And Thomas, being Thomas, doesn't want anything to get the upperhand over his 'precious' show.

We need a spin-off for all of these reasons, plus I think it would be interesting to see Lila's character in the alternative universe. Are all of her lies from the main universe true? It could be really interesting to see how all of the characters interact, which I think is also why the writers don't want to make a spin-off. They haven't thought about it, and, with Astruc's hatred for Chloe, it could be difficult to write such opposing personalities

Well, i am still enjoying the "main" Miraculous show, even though it has its ups and downs. But, a spin-off to Shadybug and Claw Noir ? i would love to see this. Hell, i even would love a crossover episode with Marinette and Adrien paying a visit into their universe.

Sounds fun to see Shady, Claw and Betterfly fighting the Supreme! Maybe she| he has take control of another dimension; the anime one and the trio has to stop the villain? I would love to see that!

I would like a spin-off of this special, this and ladydragon because from what i seen i was impressed. Honestly if Zag wants to he could do like a Marvel-type universe with this and i think i would work.Although that depends on who is doing the writting (because lets be honest i don´t think there are enough hours in the day and enough days in a year for the same writting team to write like two separate series at least not properly), who is doing the animation and the whole nine yards.

I feel like the least they could do is to make an episode or some episodes that focuses on each separate party from the specials and then their plots converge at the end. Or maybe there should be a world-wide or multiverse wide problem and they should give a Tales From Basingse type perspectives episode.

I would love a spin-off, especially if it starts like the Origins episode, only the opposite, where rather than Marinette meeting Alya as she did in our version of Marinette, it's just Chloe relentlessly bullying Marinette and the teachers, like always doing nothing. At the same time, her classmates watch, and maybe in the background, whoever the Supreme is watching and sees Marinette as the perfect person to manipulate to be one of his servants and a holder of the ladybug miraculous. Cut to a scene with Gabriel trying to form the resistance or having a group meeting with others in the resistance about what's their next move or something along those lines. With the discussion ending and Gabe's assistant, either Nathalie or someone else, as we learned Gabriel stole the butterfly and peacock miraculous from the Supreme, I'm theorizing that Gabe and Emilie never hired Nathalie to help them as that is how they met initially, talks to him about spending time with Adrien only for Gabe to say that he can't as he doesn't want to put his son in danger after what he did to the Supreme and how Adrien shouldn't be involved in his mistakes. Maybe they do have lunch together, and there's a lot of tension in the room, and we see Adrien being disinterested in having lunch with his dad, and with some dialogue later, it can end in an argument. Also, with the Supreme in the background, whoever they are knows what Gabriel did; top that with Gabriel's bad relationship with his son, which makes giving Adrien the black cat miraculous all the better. Cut to a scene with Marinette having lunch at home to see what her home life is like, and we can tell it sucks from what Shadybug said and also how maybe Tom stands there and is submissive. Perhaps the only place Marinette has peace is her room, and that's when the Supreme comes in and entrusts her with the ladybug miraculous. Tells her how now she has the power to protect herself and take down anyone who's hurt her. If she's loyal to him and his organization, he'll grant her the wish they talked about in the special, which she's agreed to, seeing that Marinette is desperate for her life to get better. Then we see the same thing happen with Adrien and the Supreme entrusting him with the black cat miraculous, telling Adrien the same thing as with Marinette and mentions his mother, which gets him but also says how Adrien can finally somehow get back at his father. Adrien agrees, and the show begins. Until the special, we can see how everyone's lives are different from who's fighting in the resistance, who's loyal to the Supreme, the kind of laws that are put to suppress people in general, how Gabriel met Alya, Nino, and maybe the rest of the class, what their plans are, their wins and loses, different akumatizes forms, Marinette and Adrien not knowing their full potential when using their miraculous especially because I think that was Shadybug's first time using the ladybug cure, how Adrien first laid eyes on Marinette and what he does with his crush on her. I can see Marinette developing a crush on Claw Noir because, despite their dynamic, he is the only friend or person in her life she considers hers as with him. Marinette isn't alone, and it isn't healthy either. Then we see how using their miraculous for evil is slowly starting to destroy them, like they see a black vain that continues to grow because of their use of the miraculous, which leads to their makeover as emos and all that to hide their marks. Also, the Supreme puts Shadybug and Claw Noir against each other as Supreme probably knows that if they start working together and get stronger from that and learn how dishonest he's been with them, they can band together to take him down. After the special, we can see how they're adjusting to their new turn from trying to befriend Nino and Alya but obviously being bad at it as they are socially inept, how they build their love story, how Marinette tries to better her life at home, Adrien and Gabriel trying to be a family again, and how they plan to defeat the Supreme, and I do question how the Supreme will react to seeing Marinette and Adrien fighting against him, maybe loses happens and how the war will finally end. Hopefully, we get a back story to how the Supreme first rose into power and how they'll rebuild after everything they went through. I would love a spin-off. It would be awesome.

I believe that a spin off would be an excellent opportunity to continue this new storyline that the writers have decided to introduce. It would be disappointing if they left this to rot away.

If they do make a spin off I hope they first show them getting their miraculous' and being villains before they turn good

It was only 40 mins long but it had the best character development in the whole show between two brand new characters. Reverse Marinette is my favorite character, I can really relate to her a lot. The scenes when her tough facade breaks down and shows her true emotions hit hard. And the animations for ALL of their expressions is incredible, you could really see how raw their emotions were.

Just by your title Smarty I had to click it. Very deeply this world is too interesting and intense to be ignored!! I so want to see how and why Emo Adrien become Claw Noir!! His whole backstory before the special. I mean really Claw and Shady had their Miraculous way before the special in their time set. I just watched the special right now so I could come back and comment and I have to say you are correct, sir. It is a wildly confusing decision for them not to expand on this new world. It is legitimately chock full of awesomeness. Mysterious, actually intimidating villain who is clearly competent (enough to enforce rules across universes), interesting character arcs and emotional stakes for everyone involved, better (or at least more creative) costumes (especially Gabriel I mean it's spectacular), a new world with a wildly interesting premise, actual angst and emotional investment garnered from the audience...I could go on. I want more of this AU! I want to see them fight The Supreme! I want to watch more knock down, drag out fights with those dagger nunchucks and throwing whole cars at people! I want to see these other corrupted miraculous holders! I want to see the resistance fight the good fight!

The supreme is honestly an amazing villain, I hope we get to see him soon.

Also, Marinette and Adrian know each other secret identity in the parallel universe they could tell some great stories with that idea

I honestly just want the show to be rebooted and marketted as a show for teenagers like it was INTENDED to be when it was an anime.

While I do like the idea of a spin-off, I don't think I would trust these writers with it. Remember how much everybody loved the original concept for Miraculous before it went bad? While I want to be hopeful and say they could maintain the same writing quality in the special, I just don't trust the Miraculous writing team as far as I could throw em tbh.

Dailing the evil Marinette and Char noir down to side characters and making Betterfly the main really helped the evil duo to shine.. gave them breathing room

SPIN OFF!!! I need to see it. I think they really need to. It would really keep hype going for both shows- like it won't get too dark if it became a spin off but if it did you can always go back to the og. It would create a nostalgic feel to the og show while still keeping it alive. But going back to the spin off, at the very least remember the chibi tales thing? They could create these little shorts people can watch if they don't want to write out a whole plot. We could check up on the alternate universe characters in a way without it even getting close to touching the og series.

the dark world seem to fall in line a bit with the anime teaser trailer that jump started the series. and truthfully, a teenager level writing series is something we need. we need an messy, dark, and bit depressing show. instead of everything being plot armor and fake hard, make it difficult. and when i say it looks like that anime trailer i mean the darker edge it had.

The whole Multiverse concept only feels overdone and unoriginal because they usually don't do much with it other than using it as an excuse for cameos. Having a Multiverse is the PERFECT opportunity for "what if" scenarios that can breathe a lot of life and creativity into existing ideas!

Time for the fanfic communities to *Step UP*

I find “good” Gabe hilarious and also enjoy the snarky interactions between Shadybug and Claw Noir they’re just so funny. Would love this as a miniseries to see how they go against the ominous mysterious villain. Love a good underdog story!! I agree why not make this into a second special or miniseries? There’s like Smartypants said, a lot of creative potential and the writers can really have fun with it, push the envelope with this edgy alternate world.

only way to fix that would be to inverse it edgelord Marinette hates Chloe which means Chloe here must be so bubbly and positive that she can't stand her positivity and assumes its bullying when it actually isn't but that would require removing Asstruc from the writer's room

GOOD VIDEO, I like that there is a version of Adrien that does have personality apart from being a puppet with a pretty face

I love every episode and season. I can’t wait for next season. I am binging the series again.

I'd love to see a spin off! Especially reverse Kagami and Felix! And the new bond between reverse Adrien and Plagg. Once that horrid seal thing is off.

They need their own spinoff

Today's animation has tragically lost its darker themes, with a few brilliant exceptions. Unless they can somehow mask those dark themes, it'd be a real challenge to get a new shiw going

This spin-off won't be created because Thomas would have to put more work into it than usual, seriously, Thomas writes the script in a week (Or less) and doesn't put any effort into it, so if he were to create this series with our alternative characters, then he would rather ruin it because he would rather do the same thing as in this series, which still exists and pretends to have a plot, even though it doesn't work anymore after Chloe's arc that made the show fall apart, they tried in the 5th but the finale showed that this attempt no longer works Thomas was so obsessed with antagonizing Chloe that it destroyed the series and its structure + He used to distort the viewer, an example is Andre, who suddenly became a poor victim of his wife and daughter, yes, the victim who gave bribes, he should go to prison, and not to walk free And the other Andre was selling ice cream illegally, so Chloe did something good when she arrested him, and the show recognizes that she's evil because she arrests a criminal, cool

Honestly betterfly/Hesperia deserves a series centred on him rather than Shadybug and Claw Noir. It stops the risks of a spin off being too repetitive and a show with an adult protagonist can appeal to older audiences of the miraculous that grew up with the show. Also imo Reverse Gabe is arguably the most numaced character with a lot of complexities.

I don't even follow the show that often- and i just watched reactions of the special- but damn, I'm scouring Ao3 every day to see if the tag updated

Perhaps the Supeme or main baddie controls all the kwami of that Universe: that would be a huge twist. Imagine he or she wants to control everything and everyone

Shadybug's outfit is a lot more stylish than Ladybug and I am miffed about it 😂

Þere are some hints in þe introduction þat suggests Alternate Gabe found a way to break Nuru free of Supreme. I wonder if þat's what Supreme considers stealing a Miraculous. It would make Betterfly "stealing" two Miraculous more interesting since it could suggest he and Emily were given þe Butterfly and Peacock by Supreme and þe "þeft" would just be a narrative constructed to get þem back, showing whoever Supreme is isn't a trustworþy source of information. And þis is just one idea þat could fill a single episode (preferably þe opener if it immediately follows þe movie).

Thomas said that he was told that making a spinoff is too expensive. He said we might see more of them in the next season tho.

having a show with evil shadybug claw noir and what there life and butterflys life be intresting. love to see. imagine they swear too a little, but is fine. i want to see them evil then start to change better. and see it develop.

It be nice to see a proper dynamic of the characters we love who have revealed their identities to each other

It would be a really cool thing to see, but I'm just worried about how they would go about it, seeing more might ruin it, the writing has to stay at this high-level, and you don't want the characters getting stale, maybe instead of just appearing once a season they could do something where they combine things again throughout a couple episodes linking stuff together, but I'm just worried that the writing might fall flat or that it could get overdone which would then ruin it, because it all depends on how much they've thought through this new world, it seems like they've thought it through quite a bit in terms of what we got, but I'd be worried that maybe it need to be some serious thought put into turning it into a spin-off like how their world actually works since the characters came to our OG world but we never went to their world it was only showing a little bit at the beginning, so it all just depends on what they decide to do, if they can keep everything consistent and releasing through their plots and worldbuilding, it could be a really good spinoff idea, but I just be worried about it being stale overtime or not being as good as it was originally, if they have a few specials like this continuing the story Personally I think that's better than a whole new show, especially for keeping the writing and everything all at a high standard.

I think it would be cool if they do what phineas and ferb did in season four. In season four the show returns to the second dimension which appeared in the movie so that the audience can see how that story wrapped up

I think if they do a spinoff it should start from when Marrinette and Adrien get their Miraculouses as I want to know more about what they were doing as villains

A spin off of Shadybug and Claw Noir? Sign me up! I loved Shadybug and Claw Noir, and I like Hespiria. How often is it in tv that you find yourself rooting for both sides!? And we're all curious about the Supreme! Like did Fu go insane after the temple fell, or was he hungry for power and stole the miracle box for himself?! Would it start off with Mari and Adrien being evil and a later season kicks off after the special?

In my honest opinion i want Miraculous the adventure of Shadybug and Claw Noir spin off to happen. I really want to know their origins, how did they get their miraculous (even though the Reverse Marinette aka Shadybug explain that to Marinette aka Ladybug but still i want to know the full story), their previous mission, their lives and their present alliance with Betterfly (the opposite Gabriel Agreste) Alya and Nino in the aftermath of Miraculous special paris. It could be either PG or PG-13 depending if their many dark moments and a little swearing that is approved of Shadybug and Claw Noir side of the story spin off.

I think a comic would work.
