Heads up for anyone who's thinking of going here: you get to eat for free on your birthday. Me and the family live about 20 min away so that's usually a good birthday feast lol. Then walk off the fullness in the big gift shop on the bottom floor.

I grew up 20 minutes from Shady Maple and it was me and my dad’s favorite breakfast spot for so many years. I lost my dad almost 2 years ago and this video reminded me of so many great mornings with him at Shady Maple. If you ever make it back there-go for breakfast and you won’t regret it.

Oh I took your advice and I went t to shady maple I would give that place a three and that’s being nice the place was horrible food was cold all picked overYou had to walk about a quarter of a mile just to get your food and the time you got back with your food it would be cold the glasses that you got to drink out of taste like soapy water very expensive do not go there

@@stephaniecoleman4126 you're literally the first person Ive ever heard say this. Ive been there many times with family and friends and everyone always goes away satisfied. For a buffet the food is top tier. Sure its not gonna be like a 5 star restaurant, thats not what its trying to be. The amish are good people and they actually care about the service they provide unlike most american dining places now.

Thank you for doing a Blog on Lancaster Pennsylvania. One of my favorite places on Earth. I go at least twice a year when I want to get away and just relax and eat very very good food. This is definitely God's country.

You did great in regards to filming in the Amish community and look at you, you found another great hat in PA. Good for you buddy.

I fully agree. I worked in the Shady Maple grocery store and it would just upset me to have tourist throw their cameras in the plain community’s faces.

Nate, I am loving these PA vlogs. I am from the Gettysburg area and visit Hershey Park, Knoebels and Shady Maple a few times a year. Shady Maple is so freaking good! The homemade desserts are amazing and we love visiting the gift shop below. It is an adventure in its self. Can't wait to see more PA vlogs!

I think I gained 10 pounds just watching him eat. Maybe I'll go there when I'm 90, and it will be my last meal.

Oh no, dont wait, come and enjoy. Shady maple us just p.ain down home good cooking. The ham loaf or ham balls are my favorite. If you just can't face choosing from all that food go to good and plenty for family style dinning, there is a lot less food but its just as good. There fried chicken and ham loaf is still my favorite.

Love this!! Shady Maple and “Sight and Sound” are a perfect Lancaster day! So many cool things in Lancaster! Love these “hometown” (PA) videos.

I grew up in the Hershey area and graduated high school there too. Now I'm in FL like you. I do go back up each year. The Amish area is a must as well as Hershey. Thank you for your wonderful videos!

Shoo Fly Pie is made with molasses, brown sugar, shortening and flour. It was probably the molasses flavour that you thought were raisins. The Amish dishes and the fruit pies and whoopie pies are delicious!

Shady maple is my most favorite place to eat in the area

Love this content. The shady maple farm market is a giant grocery store and is a gem for those of us who live close. We haven’t been to the smorgasbord since the pandemic so thx for sharing this so we know what to expect when we do go cause we miss it!! And yes, while dinner is good, breakfast there is The Best!

Shoefly Pie is molasses-based. My parents visited Lancaster every fall and brought back amazing breads, sweets, relishes, etc. Whoopie Pies and apple dumplings were a must! I know the big buffet and family-style restaurants in Pennsylvania Dutch country miss the bus trips coming through. Thanks for the memories!

Shoefly pie is actually molasses, no raisins! I get the mix up, though. Definitely check out the shop downstairs at Shady Maple next time you go!! It's the best part. And their breakfast is incredible. I always get a MTO pancake with white chocolate chips and peanut butter chips with banana slices :)

Breakfast is my favorite meal at Shady Maple. The made-to-order omelets are great, and you just cannot get a better donut. For dinner, you missed the fries! They are on the salad bar. One of the best sides they have! Tuesday nights they also have peel-and-eat shrimp. And the ham balls (definitely a Lancaster County thing) are delicious, but they don't have them every night. Love that place!

You put down food like a true champion. That was a gold medal Olympic buffet performance, pal.

It's right off of Rt. 23 in East Earl PA, in Lancaster County but near the Berks County border headed towards Morgantown.

We visit this area a few times a year! What a great place! We live the Shady Maple Market and always stop for whoopie pies and their amazing donuts!

This place looks SO good. The plate with the brisket, sausage and steak looked AMAZING...

I grew upside of a large Amish community in Ohio. There was a restaurant that we would eat at. Best jam & jelly too!

@@PagingMrMorrow always is with the Amish. If you ever literally visit Amish country, go to one of their restaurants. Won’t regret it. The one in Plain City, OH is by candle and lantern light. You get the entire experience.
