In case any learners are not sure, Hadar says she is not native but her English is ABSOLUTELY impeccable. I honestly thought she was native. Her fluency, clarity, enunciation, etc, are better than many native English speakers.
I do it every day and sometimes can't stop lol. I've fallen in love with a great orator (Jason Silva) and it's been improving not only my English but also my life in all respects. Hadar, thank you for sharing these brilliant pieces of knowledge with us. Thank you for being my teacher!

I like shadowing; the steps are: Concentrate or pay attention, choice addequate voice, slow the velocity recording, work with script, compare own voice, focus in specific paragraph, quality no quantity. All right.
Your English is perfect! You sound just like a native speaker! You are so amazing and such an inspiration to us all! ❤
in brief: In this video, Hadar discusses the benefits of the shadowing exercise and how to optimize it for improving English language skills. Shadowing involves repeating what someone else is saying, helping learners develop intuition, understand sounds, and notice elements like melody, intonation, and rhythm. The video provides tips for conducting shadowing exercises, such as playing the audio without pausing or playing a line and pausing to repeat it. Hadar stresses the importance of setting an intention when doing shadowing exercises to focus on specific improvements. To optimize shadowing practice, Hadar suggests selecting a speaker whose voice resonates with the learner, slowing down the pace of the audio, using a script to follow along, and recording oneself shadowing the speaker. Repeating the same phrase or paragraph multiple times can also be beneficial. She encourages viewers to share their experiences with shadowing exercises in the comments section and invites them to join the InFluency community for more practice.

Hello Teacher! Thank you for awesome advice. It's great that nowadays we have the opportunity to use such great techniques as shadowing. I try to do this exercise as often as I can and, to be honest, I'm in love with this method! Sometimes I feel that I hit the wall, but your videos and videos by other passionate english teachers or learners inspire and encourage me to boost my skills. Thank you a lot for your work!
I agree that this Mimicking/Echoing/Shadowing is a helpful technique in improving your English, more specifically your sound production. I used to use this when I was still learning the sound of the language. Actually, I still do once in a while, especially when I feel like I am losing the sound. Thanks for the video, Ms. Hadar.
Your "shadowing technique" is convincing from the start and gives us everything we need at all levels to learn good fluent English. Thanks, VM Hadar!
Hello Hadar :) I used to follow all these tips when shadowing, but what I noticed was that I was always being stressed and tired of doing things consciously, so I changed tactics and stoped forcing myself to do the shadowing technique intentionally, instead I started using English as if it were my native language and whenever I came across a spectacular sentence I would shadow it for fun.
Self-taught is something so important and it's what can make you go further and further and, finally, achieving some of your goals. I've learned a lot from youtube videos and youtube teachers. I always remind my students of how important is studying every day and immerse yourself as much as you can in the target language. Being restless is essential.
I love shadowing technique , that's why I was doing it while listening to you now- I really like your voice, accent and charisma.
Hadar, you are just incredible because you gave us a tool to practice without having someone to talk to. Of course, for anyone of us, there is nothing better than hiring a coach.
I do like this exercise! Basically, it works for me. In addition, it helps me to memorize things in English (songs, scenes, monologues and so on). And, it's simply exciting to think about the what, the who, and the why behind each shadowing exercise. I usually make a decision about this based on smth that I've heard or seen or thought or even dreamed! So, there's real intention and motivation every time I do the shadowing... Now, I'm trying to work more systematically... Thanks a lot for these practical tips, Hadar! Recording is gonna be my next upgrade 😉
I really enjoy listening to your videos ! I lived 20 years in the US and now I am teaching English in Brazil! Your videos are so helpful. Thank you.

Could you practice with me
I've been doing shadowing exercises on and off for the past few years to improve my English speaking but didn't find it to be very efficient. There are 2 main takeaways from this video that I think could be a game changer for me: 1) Practice with intention 2) On/Off method with recording. I hope these 2 tips can help me practice with more focus and see improvement. Thanks Hadar!!
Your English level is an inspiration for all of us who want to learn this language and need some guide and need to see what we are capable of, thank you.
I think, learning 2-3 gr structures and then shadow them in the context is the best practice ever. And you don't need many audios for that. And also its very helpful if one learnt the audio by heart
Hell yeah, I thoroughly enjoy doing shadowing and that's exactly what I am here. So many thanks for hitting another home run with this amazing lesson.
I admired you after this video I’m an Iraqi married woman who suffered a lot to achieve her goal in studying English literature but now I’m in third grade and looking forward to speaking fluently
Hi Hadar, I'm not a native speaker also, and i still learning English now. Thank you for your sharings, it's useful.✌ I totally agree that shadowing is a very effective method to practice speaking skills, and it can train the listening skills too. It's an amazing way, you will feel that you are progressing pretty much.
This channel deserves millions of subscribers. Thanks Hadar for your effort!! I would love to imitate your voice.
Excellent! Thank you your tips!
Shadowing is the best thing ever, especially at higher levels when you have more awareness of what exactly you’re doing, or work with a tutor🔥
Wholeheartedly this is such a great teacher I'll practice English with you all the time every single day
Hello our Dear Teacher!!. I've been practicing this technique for a while now, and it's part of my weekly habits. I agree that we have to set up specific goals. For instance, I've been focusing on the flap t which has been a nightmare at the beginning of this process. It's been a while now and honestly, these exercises are paying off. I am a passionate English learner and a host in the Influency Community as well. This is one of the best experience that I've gotten through because within the community I've been having the opportunity to share my passion for intonation, rhythm and melody. For sure one step at a time, we'll be able to share our knowledge and skills about the flap t as well. In the end, it's gonna take time to get rid of your old habits, but when you start to see and feel results wow, that's an awesome feeling!!!. Then, you can even start sharing your passion with other learners and it's gonna be really touching to get in touch with students who are on the same page, and are willing to help one another. Thanks for sharing a meaningful and fascinating video. 😊😊

@@ferhancevik9972 Hello Ferhan!!. When I started shadowing, I picked up an actor that I like a lot. My advise is, pick someone who you can relate to. It could be anyone, an actor, a speaker, a singer and so on. Try to listen to him/her very carefully. Especially at the beginning, slow down the speed. Try to identify the speed that fits to your needs and abilities. It's also a listening exercise. So, as our Dear Hadar mentioned many times, you can make it if you can hear it. Pay attention to all small details about pronunciation and intonation at first. One step at a time!!. Make a huge numbers of repetition of the same paragraph until you feel confident and satisfied about it. After a few repetition, make a record of yourself, and compare yourself to the original one. Try to notice if you mispronounced something, and use the google tool how to pronounce "that word". Use that word in sentences starting from Youglish. Then come up with your own sentences. I'm sorry for the long explanation, but it's an ongoing process and those tools and techniques are going to help you to keep your weekly practice intentional and enjoyable. Have a nice day!!!

I can't do this exercise while I'm driving, because it takes my attention. Sometimes I need to think more, and I could crash my car and injure other people. Sure, I'm beginner... maybe about some months/years for now I can do it, when English will be more naturally for me. Now, only when I wash dishes, to help my grandmother with household chores.
So helpful lesson ! Thanks for sharing this.
I often practice shadowing, and I agree with you that is a good way to learn English. Your video is wonderful, thank you for sharing.

I've been doing shadowing for almost half of a year now and the person I picked for my practicing was Matthew McConaughey recently I've noticed many native speakers started to tell me that I have a very specific flow to my accent and my vowels and just the way I talk sound very US southern that's it's almost impossible to guess where I'm from as they told me so this shadowing thing really does work 😆
Hello teacher!!! You have a very good diction. Even speaking quick, I can understand you very well, using the tecnique that you teach. I speak French, Italian, Spanish and trying speak english. thanks a lot for these pretty overqualified tips that are extremely different from the others, bec These are more focused on the natural learning habits and technics rather than vocabulary and grammatical issues. I really appreciate 🙏
I haven't done or heard of this idea before. But looking forward to starting the shadowing exercise tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.
A great great mastery of speaking and communicating, to the point. Thanks for all that
Well, this is actually quite beneficial. The thing is, a lot of people incorporate this stuff into their day-to-day, and make an attempt to sort of get better at English - or whatever laguage it is. In these moments, you emerge, and bring light into these people's eyes. And finally, shadowing is great technique is a resounding tech if used right! You can certainly make some progress in 1 month time if you apply everything as said in the instructions. Oh, too much said. Have a nice day, this tech is totally worth it!

@@akriti_bangtan7245 Hi, it's really cool, that you're learning a language! I combine: 1) repeating simultaniously as she's talking 2) pausing than repeating the whole sentence. If I don't manage to repeat it right away, with the first try, than I can do it again, but usually I just continue on going even if I made a mistake or wasn't fast enough to keep up with her. It all is okay, so chose what's best for you and, most importantly, what doesn't exhaust you, because learning should be a fun experience, otherwise you won't be willing to do it. Wish you luck)

Hi @Hadar. Thank you a million for your pronunciation videos! I’ve watched my share of pronunciation classes, and while there’s always something valuable one can glean from different teachers-somehow your approach to teaching English pronunciation deeply resonated with me-you have this unique touch that’s truly experiential and intuitive. The way you explain and describe the mechanics of sound production is both precise and easy to follow. Your meticulous attention to phonetic nuances are perfectly balanced by the super engaging way you demonstrate pronunciation techniques and to top it all-don’t you make that process sound super fun and simple!:) Bravo!
