At about 15:00 in the video, there is rapidly flashing white light, most likely a glitch in the video capturing or game itself. Just a warning for those who are sensitive to flashing lights.

This game is rated E10+ not E there's a difference. This game was originally gonna be rated T but the time of this game's development ESRB had added the E10+ rating so Sega decided to go for an E10+ rating instead of T. Also there is a real gun called a Troy 223 which actually does have a pump on it. Even if said gun didn't exist until 9 years after this game's release.

It had a lot of potential. The gunplay could have been done better and the graphics were atrocious, even for its time. But the level design was top notch and some of the boss fights were really fun. Honestly, I feel like they could use the fuck it energy today. Not like they’re going to make them like they used to, so just go wild with it.

Honestly, yeah, between the original Sonic games up to Adventure 2 and ones like Colors and Generations, this one seems like one of the best from the weird mid-late 2000's 3D Sonic games so far. :p Heroes was okay, I still don't like Secret Rings (I had it for a while but never really played it), and I can't remember what to really make of 06... I still have yet to look into ones like Unleashed and Black Knight though. :p But yeah, the old 90's/early 00's and 10's/20's games seems like what you'd usually expect from a Sonic game. :?

This was my Favorite "Sonic" game ever made tbh The branching paths, vehicles, guns, even the story I played it so many times then finally got the True ending and man when I was a kid it just came out at the prefect age for me to really experience it. Shadow was such a cool character always thought Knuckles was dope but even he got surpassed.

The OP was to show you the two canon routes, Neutral and Dark which Last Story ends at Neutral where Shadow has the Emeralds he has collected alone and if you wait long enough during the last boss fight with Devil Doom, Eggman confirms that the Dark Route is canon by saying he lied about making him and makes his confession he saved him with one of his robots, only lost memory (which is not really all he lost) from that fall and says at the end "you really are the Ultimate Lifeform my Grandfather created.".

Definitely not the worst sonic game. This is the only sonic game where you get alternate endings, unique weapons/abilities, and an overall new experience for those who have never played this. I loved growing up and I still do. Sucks we never get anymore games revolved around shadow.. or serious toned ones for that matter

I remember a few years back when I played this on my ps2 continuously.

GTA SA MOD: Shadow the black sonic Skin

Shadow is like Jason Bourne in this game.

After 18 years, this and other Sonic games are the best memories I have

Here's something people need to remember, Shadow was in his Super Form while he fell and if you dont want to believe Eggman's last words in Devil Doom that he only lost his memory and didn't die, do believe because Super Shadow makes him Nigh Invulnerable and that fall gave him 1) A Severe Concussion or a blow to the Head which should've been fatal but it wasnt, 2) Affected his memories and 3) He became more edgy and apathetic because people with blows to the head do behave this way, however the Chaos Emeralds began repairing his body, restoring access to the Chaos Force and restoring his memories and mind as you see him grunt and in pain when the flashbacks showed up, I mean 1 of his memories was him in that pod thing during Sonic Adventure 2 and let's remember, this was before Black Doom and his kind arrived on Earth but it may also be before the events of SA2, either way his Alien kin weren't there and neither did Black Doom experience this AND nobody else was around him when these flashbacks appeared, he was collecting the Emeralds and this started happening minutes after he grabbed the Green Emerald. Also people complain about guns but do you see 1 in these? No so they're not considered canon nor does Shadow think of getting one and you only use them until Devil Doom which is when you get to use Chaos Spear which is again for those who played SA2 Battle, it's the game where they actually debuted in.

Thankyou I know this game video hasnt got as much attention as one would hope but I truly appreciate you did this

*I love how so much of this game is just reused assets from SA2 and Heroes.* The GUN mechs use the mech walker SFX from SA2, the gravity switches in Space Gadget use a pitched version of the haunted switch SFX from Heroes. The Tornado 2 uses the SA2 model, all main characters (except Rouge) use their Heroes models. The ARK levels that take place outside reuse a _ton_ of assets from Final Rush/Cosmic Wall, and look like remixes of SA2's level designs. The Heavy Dog/Blue Falcon boss theme is a remix of the GUN Mech boss theme from SA2. So many things are reused from those two games, I could go on for quite a while listing them all off.

as time goes by i realise two things shadow is the DC of sonic MARVEL and also shadow is the scorpion of sonic universe

I like how you can use a homing attack, pound enemies, & shoot them 💯 sonic just uses the homing attack 😭 that alone made this game fun.

Intro for this song went hard until going into the lower quality cutscenes that have pauses between voices

Fun fact: That's Tony-nominated actor Andrew Rannells voicing the various GUN Soldiers throughout the game. This game came out the same year he debuted on Broadway as a replacement for Link Larkin in Hairspray. And yes, he played James in Pokemon Live earlier too but he doesn't like to talk about that.

This game is the sole reason that i want to buy PS2 of my own,i played this when i do sleep over at cousin home,we usually just play PES,NFS and Downhill,but that night his brother buy a new game,we dont know what it is but when his brother came home he played this game and we just ended up watching him playing all night,my cousin wasnt really fans of the game but i love the vibe of the game so i played the game before my father pick me up,and i ask my father if i can have my own PS2 and he told me i cant have one since we have SNES (my father bought it back in college) at home that still work,but a year later my father bought me PS2 (fat) for my birthday i was so happy and it bundled with PES and GTA:SA,then on Saturday my friend and i went find this Shadow game but we went to 3 places and found none of the copy,one of the stores clerk tell me that they had a copy of it but only if i install hardisk to my PS2,and that kind of expensive for me but having full library of game make me interested,so i saving for 6 months and manage to install hardisk to my PS2 during holiday,i played shadow game for whole holiday,i manage to unlock the neutral and the bad ending during those run,might revisit the game after i went back home,hope my brother doesn't broke the PS2

If i were a game designer that can remake Shadow the Hedgehog, I'd slim down the branching paths. There's Evil, Neutral and Hero mode. Of course the gameplay would be better like retaining Adventure 2 elements and also having a strafe that'll keep the shooting fast paced. Instead of 10 endings, it should be 3 plus the final ending. The main ending is basically the hero and neutral ending combined where Shadow sticks to himself while also saving others when he's needed if Sonic and the others aren't enough. As for the story itself, I'd make it less convoluted and more simple and sweet as well as having a few more levels and cutscenes of Shadow's past and how he and Maria were close.
