Who discovered this technique? in the records of ps2 and ps3 I do not remember anyone having managed to climb the last platform.

I'm not sure who discovered that technique but it's used as a backup strat in full game speedruns. Since all the extremely good time attack players can jump off the colossus onto the pillar, they have no reason to use the slightly slower strat, and all the world record times are going to use that harder trick.

It's just the position. At 2:09 you can see how Wander's feet are planted near the back and how his body is aligned with the colossus. Once you get in that position and charge your stab, you shouldn't shake off.

It was probably by the first SOTC Speedrunners called Unidone or Shirapon. Shirapon plays the game till today while Unidone I don't know. Don't think he's playing or at least is not sharing his vídeos anywhere. Shirapon's Twitch: www.twitch.tv/shirapon021212

Thanks Riku. Even digging through Shirapon's videos from 8 years ago, he uses the jump from the colossus onto the pillar, so it's hard to find an exact source of the easier platform jump. Also, any chance on you playing the PS4 version to get the Kuromori record? It seems all the pros except Stormglad are sticking to the PS2/PS3 versions, or they stopped playing. :(

To be honest this might take awhile for me to have a chance to play the PS4 Version. But soon i get my hands on i'll definitely try to get Kuromori's records :) Stormglad actually is playing the PS4 Version. I think he just uploaded the 1min run from Gaius NTA Record Also has Quadratus and Valus as well. Also very good times. You should check it out :)
