I really love this catalog. But it’s way too expensive for me-is there going to be a sale or coupon code? I think more people would love to enjoy this if the price was a tad more affordable for some of us that are struggling during this time,

You can get hundreds of colour pallets on Pinterest for free. I've saved hundreds and they're very helpful. I've also bought a greyscale colouring book to help me learn where natural shadows would be.

I don't know why setting shadows and highlights is so unintuitive (or at least that's how I perceive it to be). Experienced colorists like you seem to have an innate instinct for it that completely eludes me. I stick to the "imagine a light source coming from X" tip but I'm still incapable of creating natural and realistic looking shadows and especially highlights. On a different note, thanks for the time and work you put into your videos. Watching them is super enjoyable :)

Hi Lexi, It definitely comes with practice. When I started coloring, I didn't focus on light source, highlights, or shadows. I just colored and overtime, I learned after lots and lots of practice. You may enjoy this video that I posted yesterday. Happy Coloring kzread.info/dash/bejne/nHV3yctmabzTccY.html

Oh and btw thank you for the help with the brut swatch chart I don’t know what I was reading but I was looking straight at it all along but it just wasn’t registering with my brain that that was the file I wanted. That’s what you get when you have way too many things on your mind at once I guess. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you so much. This May sounds strange, but have you got any advice on what a nice (& unique) highlight colour would be for blue shadows ( I really hope that makes sense!! This probably would have been a better question to ask on your ‘favourite highlight colour ‘ video) .?

I love using this Sky blue light when I use blues. It’s my favorite highlight color. Another color I love to use for highlights is cream and it goes very well to give the blue a pop.

I found this helpful so more of the same please. Could you also please show how shadowing can be done with colours from opposite colours on the colour wheel as seen this mentioned a lot but not demonstrated. Thank you again for all the help I’ve gained from your videos.

Hi Shelley, I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I have done some videos where I show color combinations using colors from opposite ends of the color wheel. I have even recently colored some leaves using colors most colorists wouldn't think to put together. I believe I have some flower tutorials also using colors that are rather difficult to blend together. If you search my channel and look through my videos, you will find lots. If you need help, let me know and I'll link some for you. If you're in my Facebook group, you can ask there and I am sure one of my moderators or me will get to your question and respond with plenty of links for you. Have a wonderful day.

I love this tutorial on shading because you’re explaining the process! I had stopped watching videos because it’s pretty boring & frustrating to watch an artist color without any direction! Thanks for this & I’ll be watching a lot more of your “lessons”. A suggestion for color combos would be to check paint makers like Benjamin Moore & Sherwin Williams. They’re always suggesting complimentary color combos!
