As far as 90's military comedies go, this one and Down Periscope are seriously slept on.

The original tv series of SGT bilko was pretty good too also fun fact the top cat cartoon by hanna barbera was based on it

Down Periscope was excellent. For me, best scene of this movie is the boxing match.

McHale's Navy with Tom Arnold was also good. Along with Down Periscope, it felt like two sides of the same coin, even though Periscope was a better film.

I love the save that the soldier came up with at 2:00.

I love how Bilko just looks away at 1:04 as to say "You're on your own kid..." 😂😂

One of the best comedies ive seen. 😂😂😂

I don't recall ever seeing a full bird walk a major around for a tour, and let them lead it to boot... LOL, love this movie though.

Was thinking the same thing. But for the most part the uniforms in this movie are squared away at least.

It's a bad movie, but it's such a guilty pleasure.

@@jessicaregina1956 Yeah I know but thats such a stupid mistake to fix, couldve just swapped their ranks. Especially the scene at 2:07 where Colonel bows his head down in sort of fear to Major. Colonel outranks Major by 2 ranks, and it is the highest ranking officer that isnt a star (general rank).

The Colonel isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, and the Majors from the Pentagon doing a review of his base so he wants to avoid getting shut down.

Major was there to determine if the base should be shut down and the Colonel was basically in cower mode, not wanting to be shut down. It is brought up about his behavior at the end of the movie tho.

It's the same movie universe like Stripes, where the basic training unit shipped out along with the drill sgt. to the same AIT school and kept in the same exact unit.
