I played this game 4 player and it's just a complete mess. Like, borderline unplayable. The amount of bugs was unreal to the extent I can't believe they marketed the game as 4 players. So I'm looking forward to this

You know what is funny about Jun Senoue's 10 seconds songs? He was also the composer of Green Grove Zone act 2 for Sonic 3D blast. The Longest song in a 16 bit Sonic game. It's 4 minutes without looping.

Wonder doesn't really let you interact with other players, though, from what I tried. Rather lame, honestly. Bumping, jumping into each other, tossing especially, that was the most fun part of NSMBWii and beyond.

I think the problem is just that Sega isn't allowing him to do what works for him. Classic style music clearly isn't his strong suit but sega keeps forcing him to make Classic style music. I don't even think it's that he's a weak composer. I was listening to an official remix of the Splash Hill themes in a medley and it sounded so good, like it wouldn't sound out of place in Adventure. My friend tried to tell me this game was just as good, if not better than mario wonder. I just laughed at him.

I was going to count the score gotten by every player, but sadly only the Fruit Acts show that individually, so here are the rankings on total rings: (These are counted by how many rings they have at the end of an act, so lost rings don't count.) #1* - Sonic: 363 #2 - Tails: 250 #3 - Knuckles: 230 #4 - Amy: 197 *Sonic did have a solo act in this episode, so there is an unfair advantage, but removing the 49 gained from that act still has him at #1 with 314. Also, I heard 3 mic peaks overall, 2 from Johnny and 1 from Elliot. Let's hope that number increases!

I feel bad for Jun. Dude is amazing, we all know it. Yet when he does Classic, he gets tunnel vision. Now everyone meme's and makes fun of him. Some are even saying don't come back.

Fun is Eternal, as is Sonic. He never stays away from here for long.

Speaking as someone who studies music, Jun Senoue was never a bad *composer* when working on Sonic. It's the *instrumentations* that're the problem here. His Sonic 4 songs have been re-arranged without changing the composition and sound great. To really get what I'm talking about, find any tereible soundfont rendition (such as Linkin Park in the FF7 soundfont) or any Ultimate Guitar/Songsterr rendition, especially the ones where they replace the vocals with like a Oboe or a solo vox. No Tee Lopes can survive bad instrumentation. (Edited for clarification)

I think Jun sunoe is a great composer. But not genisis composer. He did great with both sonic adventures and his megaman 4 medley in smash is great

Sonic Adventure might just as well be my number one favourite Video Game Soundtrack ever! Fully knowing that this wasn't only Senoue but an entire team of composers.But this guy could work absolute wonders.However, indeed, his interpretations of a Geneis era OST seems to be reflecting of what a today's 14 year old would imagine a video game OST of the 90s would have sounded like...Simply,Game-Boy like sounds with a one note tone going through the entire melody...whereas the Genesis was able to produce a large variety of tones, especially in Sonic games! If you would ask a young kid of what he/she thinks a Genesis track would sound like without ever having heard it, Jun Senoue's tracks would reflect that, unfortunately that does not lead to any good results...

hate to be um ackually here but the LEGO Skins in Superstars are actually tie-ins to new lego sonic sets that came out recently, with more set to release in the near future, but of course they do have Dimensions in their DNA (with Sonic having the same headpiece mold)

As someone who played through the whole game with 3 people, it wasn't that bad. You just have to tell your friends to "chill the f*** out" and move as an unit. Which is why I think this got past play testing at SEGA. Because if you're playing this game with the intent of leaving no one behind (slowing down for someone to catch up, not blasting at top speed until you're at a spot where you call can go) you can stick together 70% of the time. But that doesn't excuse not being able to toggle the camera. And at the end of the day, SEGA should have seen some of this ahead. I want them to patch it, but like you said, SEGA will just wait for the Plus Edition.

When SGB played cave story as a multi player a while back. They judged the game as a whole unfairly because it was a game that wasnt made with multi played in mind. This game was made with multi player in mind and they still messed it up. So the boys grievances with this game are more then valid

Superstars is essentially Sonic's turn on the 4 player co-op experience that Mario did back with New Super Mario Bros Wii, except the problem is Mario's take works because his game's are more slow paced and the players can do what they want with each other that leads to chaotic fun while Sonic is the opposite, his game's are more fast paced and for what we see in SGB's playthrough leads to chaotic stress as everyone runs too fast not everyone has a chance to keep up which could mess up the camera especially when dealing with the level gimmicks.

This game has it's problems but it's a fun time until Trip's story that's where it careens off the proverbial cliff. Some music is great, others loop so suddenly, boss music is criminally disappointing, anything that isn't Jun Senoue in this soundtrack is a banger. Bosses your mileage may vary on each one. I like that Fang came back after Triple Trouble and Trip well that speaks for itself also she's adorable and clumsy.

Like i said on Twitter. This game isn't terrible but maybe multiplayer wasn't a great move. The game has issues no doubt. But as a single player experience it's great.

Ah Superstars - it’s a fun time on single player! Personally I put it slightly below the Rush games, but above most of the Advance games (overall - I feel there are some individual parts that are worse than Advance)

I like how because of the title youtube thinks the game is sonic heroes.

I’m glad SGB is back on Sonic, but I do not like this game. I can’t even get past the final boss before Trip’s story and after hearing some of the complaints you guys had on it and what could be in the upcoming Johnny vs Sonic Superstars video, I probably won’t play it again. I do love Sonic Frontiers though and hope that’s a game for a future play through.

Well it's been a while, SGB doing a Sonic game.

Typically composers don't always have free reign on what they make for a project. Had Jun Senoue composed in the style that fits him it likely would have clashed with the rest of the OST (even though they kinda do anyway), so as a result Senoue was likely limited with the type of arrangements he could make. Now, why he is keeps getting typecast in this style that clearly isn't his strong-suit I couldn't say, but this may be the explanation.

You CAN play online with friends through Steam Remote Play, but that doesn't fix the issues with the screen, since it's just the same local play screen for everyone.

This is going to be 1 hell of a chaotic multiplayer mess, & im all for it I'm gonna really enjoy this playthrough
