The weird part about that "The End" cameo in the final zone, according to Ian Flynn it's not actually The End. Which just makes it a frustrating instance of asset re-use without thinking about lore implications, lol.

This game needs a massive update. Fix local multiplayer so that it's split screen! Fix the bosses so that they don't take 5 hours to beat! Fix some of the bosses so that they aren't jank as all hell! How the hell did I die to the press factory boss by getting smushed on the non-existent ceiling? And for the love of God, fix the spin dash physics! Also, can we please shorten the load times on the Nintendo switch version?! How come there is no background loading during gameplay? Developers got that right as early as Grand theft Auto San Andreas on the PS2!

Tip for the final boss: look at the missile patterns when he's launching them because if the blue missile is on the LEFT, you need to go left to find it. When you know that, the fight is so much easier

The fight goes from long to short in seconds. Everytime you face and run with the missile on what side you are guaranteed to immediately run into it as you keep moving.

Unfortunately it took me a good hour to realise it. After the first three hits, you can use Avatar to essentially finish it off too so the boss isn't that bad honestly

The entire final boss section of this video was hands down my favorite part of this entire playthrough, like omg i haven't laughed that hard in a while, especially at 50:09

To answer John's "where do I know banking rings from?" it was a mechanic in Sonic Dash, every spring you would multiply and bank the product of that multiplication so you could buy stuff with the rings.

This is one of the funniest videos on the channel. Great job guys. So glad you’re back.

Each character is riding the Egg Mobiles from the games they were introduced in. However, Amy's is from the Tidal Tempest Zone boss. Trip does get one, but it's based off Angel Island Zone's boss.

For the Egg Mobiles, Sonic and the others are each riding the one that debut in the same game they debuted in; Sonic in Sonic1 Egg Mobile, Amy in CD E.M., Tails in Sonic2 E.M., and Knuckles in Sonic3&K E.M.

I think what's funny to me about this game and multiplayer was that That was kinda a selling point of this game, or something they wanted to be the star of the show. If you look at the trailers, you will see all the instances of fun multiplayer with friends... but this game does look like it wasn't even optimized that well FOR multiplayer, which is funny and bizarre for me.

Matt: "That's why I went ahead, why waste time?" Johnny: "F*ck you Matt" Nooope I'm with Matt on this one cause with all I heard while I was sleeping one day and fully awake the other, nothing but chaos and complaining. Hate to say it, glad this is the finale cause my god, this game truly was NOT meant for MP. Though I wonder if a revisit is in order if Sonic Team SO CHOOSES to patch in FUNCTIONAL local Multiplayer.. 🤔

I really feel sorry for Johnny & his friends when it come to fighting that goddamn frustration of that final boss. Even Brevon of Freedom Planet 1, and Merga & Bakunawa Fusion of Freedom Planet 2 do the final boss battle so much better than what Sega has to offer. GalaxyTrail Games' final bosses' pacing feels right & the challenge is much more fair. When GalaxyTrail Games does the highspeed platformer quality so much better Sega themselves especially making sure that boss battles feels challenging yet fair at a same time, you know something's wrong considering the indie developer is better than the official company. Also, need I mentioned that Freedom Planet series feels less glitchy than Sonic Superstars. Just to show how incompetent Sega really is. With the exception of Mania, that company cannot give us a proper 2D Sonic that we wanted thus GalaxyTrail do the highspeed platformer better. Edited as of 1/23/2024. OH YEAH! FREEDOM PLANET 2 IS COMING TO CONSOLES INCLUDING THE SWITCH AT APRIL 4TH! THIS WILL HELP EVEN MORE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT STEAM USERS GET EXCITED WHOM THEY WERE DISAPPOINTED AT SONIC SUPERSTARS! Trip’s Final Boss is a bitch and a half… Not only is it a slog, but it’s multi-phase, and if you die in the later phases, you have to start again from the BEGINNING… I wound up using a glitch to just skip the fight… Granted, I didn’t get to play the credits mini game for extra medals because I never even SAW the credits that way, but it was a necessary sacrifice…

Hohn, you got it wrong. Tails is in the Sonic 2 egg mobile and Amy is in the Sonic CD one. You can tell as it looks exactly the same as the water zone boss from Sonic CD.

The game decided to pull out all the chaos for the grand finale, and it did not disappoint

I don't remember that jerky floor glitching stuff when I did single player on my Steam Deck. Maybe it's bugged on whichever console version you're playing. What a finale! So many laughs! The final boss in multiplayer is just so awful! I'm guilty of it as well at first, but Frozen Base Act 1 was completely skipped after picking the Tails level for Frozen Base.

Amy really is riding in the eggmobile from Sonic CD. Tails is in the Sonic 2 eggmobile since it has the "smokestacks?" and the front bumper akin to the Protective Armor from SA2. It's hard to tell because of how it's shaped, looking more like an egg instead of being more spherical like it's usually depicted. It actually looks more like the first and fourth bosses from the Game Gear Sonic Blast title.

Between rocks and more rocks...it's probably an intense dual of Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band.

I played this in Single Player on the Switch version and it’s so weird to see the kind of stuff you guys have run into. I’m genuinely curious if the Switch version is more polished than the PS5 version.

pretty fun LP but while the wild shit because of the co-op was funny, it's a shame the co-op makes the game which is actually good look a lot worse than it is, like I fully beaten the game in solo and I had no where close to the amount of issues & bugs you guys had, it should of had the split screen from battle mode. Also 54:43 Johnny I know you were kinda doing a compare to Origins Plus but the patch that came out when the Plus DLC released was free, you didn't had to buy the DLC for that patch & the one that came later, still I hope the game gets a free patch to make the co-op better to player and actually do free content updates like Frontiers did, though I wouldn't mind paid DLC if the content in it is mostly if not fully original. One last thing, I find it funny that the Sonic series is doing a marketing campaign that is themed around friendship and the major game released during it has the worst co-op mode ever to a point where you guys were getting mad.

For the Eggmobile thing, Sonic's in the Sonic 1 Eggmobile, Tails is in the Sonic 2 Eggmobile, Amy's in the Sonic CD Eggmobile, and Knuckles is in the Sonic 3 Eggmobile.

Cyber Station has a unique gimmick whatever battle bot you created becomes the Boss of this Zone. Ridley appears in Frozen Base Act 1, watch out buddy a Bounty Hunter is after you. Nice homage to Fantasy Zone and the final zone reverses time and you head all the way back to the beginning. Meanwhile final boss Timmy Turner "RE-DO" Sonic pilots the standard Sonic 1 Eggmobile with the wings. Amy pilots the Sonic CD Tidal Tempest Eggmobile who has a bubble shield. Tails pilots the Sonic 2 Eggmobile with it's slicker design. Knuckles pilots the Sonic 3 Eggmobile which first appears in Hydrocity Zone Act 2. Trip uses the Flame Craft Boss from Sonic 3 Angel Island Zone Act 2. The End is in the background for no reason. Egg Fortress reuses three segments three times. The strat with the missiles is if the blue missile's coming from the left of the background go left if it's on the right side run right. To show how terrible it gets with the multiplayer just look at 45:00 To prevent that from happening don't skip the cutscene for phase 2 as it'll lock you in that spot.

The chaos of this play through make me feel so sorry for you guys. Hopefully your next 4player will be much less stressful. I'd recommend Dragons Crown for more fun experience. Thanks all the same for this tough work
