Thanks Barry for taking the time to put another piece of sim racing gear through its paces mate !
Always looking forward to your reviews! Due to your reviews, i have bought the Thrustmaster T-GT and now the Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals. Keep up the good work!!
Just waiting on this arriving. Apparently there’s some improvements been implemented since this review. Can’t wait 👍🏻
Barry should be getting alot more views, his detail to his reviews are far superior than others
SRG need some T-shirts and other merch with "So...Lets Get To It"

I‘d like to have it as a ring tone 😆
Looked at this before going for the Aiologs. Main drawback is the lack of throw, pity it's not adjustable in that regard. Awesome review as always
i have the combo set and i can say they’re great
"Punching above it's weight" all I had to hear. Will get the handbrake combo

*patiently waiting for logitech g923 teardown

impatiently waiting for logitech for a decade to provide us with a decent shifter and or handbrake without taking the damn thing appart and voiding the warranty. After good 2 months im allready on the hunt for my next ecosystem. Basicaly i can dissapoint you that from what i can tell a g923 is just kind of a firmware upgrade on g29; therefore allowing it to have maybe a bit more resolution than g29. other than that i still think its wiser to spend another 100 and just get a decent setup if youre serious about your times.. Because no direct drive wheel and its components and software will compensate for your lack of patience in braking and or rough ankles and therefor inconsistent times.

Watch G29 teardown - it's exactly the same wheel. Or just watch review at Boosted Media Nothing new, sadly
dont hasitate to buy this item. it looks nice does the job very well, its sturdy and build like a tank. if you got some money left you can even do customized paint jobs on the levers like i did. thanks for the great support and paint job SG-racing!!
How's the tactile feedback compare to the Aiologs? I'm guessing this has a mostly linear feel (I doubt the switch contributes much compared to those springs). Aiologs has that ball bearing mechanism to give a little hump in the force curve. The Pro Sim has the ratcheting mechanism. This I'm guessing just has solid thud at end of travel. Really cool and simple design and heavy duty, but I'm worried I'd miss the tactility.
i have to LOL at the pro micro in the box. theyre trying to make it look more than it is. should have just stuck the board in the unit and be a cleaner install and just say, hey, it is what it it. its still quite worth the price
You are the Barry Burton of sim racing.
I got one of those since early this morning and got to say they completely redesigned that shifter on the inside, the switches are in a different position now and look different too. I haven't opened it so far but I'll take a closer look later today. Overall it feels a lot better than a 3D-printed shifter (had the DSD Pro Seq before which is somehow almost twice the price) and it feels a lot more solid, stiffer. Got to take a look how I can manipulate the actual shift though as it comes really late in the entire movement. It has reaaaaaaally long throw now (30mm in both ways so 60mm overall, that is almost 10x what the DSD does) which is somehow nice but also annoying that you really have to hit the end of the throw to actually make a shift. Edit: opened it up and found Proximity Sensors instead of switches. Explains the late response to the shift

so is the redesign a worse setup? was just about to buy the dual shifter and handbrake!
@empii911

@@gmarl238 no it is better! It might just not be ready to go right from unboxing you might have to tighten the screws which fix the sensors a bit to get the response exactly when you want. But the thing is superb considering it’s price anyway
Barry, can you review button boxes!
Really like but not sure about that throw Can you review the handbrake too please Barry
It's nice and thick
Why is a 9pin connector used instead of a usb connector.
getting "a little bit more" than you paid for is about the highest praise you can get from the srg
Looks like a thors hammer. Pitty the throw is a bit short for what id like it to be.
Shifter's measurements would have been nice. Height etc. And about reviews, maybe it would be good time to review Simetik K2R rig. Sublime stuff in its price range and still quite a few knows about them. I've had one two years already, although not K2R, but earlier K2-version.

Chris Johnson i have their GT pedal set, really stiff quality stuff
Nothing new! When you opened it, I was saddened. 2 micro, 4 screws and some washers. I can do it very well by myself at home ....
So they went completely overboard with the metalwork, used your standard microswitch setup instead of hall or any other contactfree solution, and then have a free floating arduino board in their electronics enclosure. Thats not impressive. But clearly to make Barry like something, its all about how many kilos it weighs, all other things are secondary.

What doesn't baryy like you know
g923 is almost the same as previous ones
Heavy duty hardware. You could prolly use it in a real car. Thx Barry.
One more solid sequential shifter on the market and now we just need to ban paddle-shifting in race-cars. Btw I already was able to brake one of those switches with my sequential and got a replacement. It's always the weakest point of every shifter with this concept.
@sgracing1369

U cant brake them because the bolts stop the leveler from any forcing contact with the switch!
@Leynad778
3 жыл бұрын
@@sgracing1369 The switch is still the weakest part and will have a limitation on how often you can trigger within a lifespan. Afaik there are magnetic solutions that could replace this part.
That's 2 contacts and a ground. not power, signal and ground...
I’m 3rd 🙄
