"jack of all trades, master of none" 175 HP. + can use every weapons available in game, but only when those are dropped on floor. - all weapons gets a -50% ammo nerf and a 25% damage nerf when used by the mercenary (except for melee) his default are: -Shotgun -SMG -crowbar [a quick update was needed]

The Merc is like a fusion of every class. In Open Fortress, he can use all weapons from all classes, and the features of his outfit have part from different classes. Soldier grenades, Spy mask, Heavy gloves, etc.

I just wish valve would add him as the 10th class (P.S, I hope the Scout and the Mercenary can be close friends, if valve add him. It's kinda sad that Scout is the only class who doesn't have a close friend like Soldier and Demo, Pyro and Engineer, Heavy and Medic, and Sniper and Spy

unlike other, usually 'quiet but deadly' or at least 'decent introduction' kind of meet the teammates, this one is rather more chaotic without grace, and i absolutely love it. it fits the character so well.

If he was a class I would suggest these thing - health at 150 with speed a bit slower than normal - he would pick up a weapon that the enemy last hold before killing them - weapon he pick up can only fill his primary slot - the weapon he pick up will have ammo capacity of -75% - ammo boxes and resupply locker have no effect on picked up weapons only his starting weapons - he starts of with a pistol (secondary) and crowbar (melee) - certain weapons can effect his movement speed this is what I come up with

Honestly it makes sense whatever he carried has way less amo than normal for balance, but I still think it would be crazy to equip something like the sticky launcher with any hits can weapon. Demo is balanced around being extremely strong at mid range but weak at long and close range because of self damage and harder to aim projectiles and damage fall off. But if mercenary were to get a sticky launcher AND a good self defense weapon, that would potentially be overpowered. Maybe for the sake of simplicity it's impossible for mercenary to pick up most types of primary weapons to preserve the uniqueness of the classes and for balance. But most secondaries are free. This still leaves a massive amount of options of for potential shenanigans, plus if you counted melees too. But of course, some would be barred, like most of heavy's.

Sweet SFM dude, Open Fortress is a really underrated Source mod, seeing it get some recognition is a bliss to see, keep up the good work man, "Frickin' Awesome"

Deathmatch Mercenary is my favorite character. He is just so very Underrated/Underappreciated.

I wish this character was Canon. He is giving of Deadpool vibes and I love it. It is like the perfect counter balance for the mercs.

The Deathmatch Mercenary needs to be the Tenth Class.

150 health, starts with pistol + crowbar move speed is slightly above average. can pick up most dropped weapon, can pick up new weapons from medium and large ammo crates (Not dropped ones) stuff like stock shotgun, cannot pick up weapons like the sniper rifle and flamethrower to outdo classes at themselves

That is a really cool idea!! Like you start off with a two shot crowbar, then you have to resort to using the weapons of the enemies you just killed, but you only have limited ammo so you have to kill another class. If you run out of ammo you resort back to your crowbar.

It could be a really fun gimmick having a class based around being able to pick up weapons from all classes and modify them based on his loadout a cool name would be something like the artificier or the inventor

In the mod he is in, he can carry up to 5 different weapons. Sounds op, but he is not a bullet sponge like Soldier or Heavy, so I think it is pretty balanced. (ツ)

I perfer the idea of 2 weapon slots, maybe 3. Where he has like, basic weapons (crowbar, Pistol and maybe another) but can pick up a weapon for that respective slot. For example, if he has two slots. He can put any primary / secondary in his pistol slot and any melee (apart from, the incredibly class specific ones. Like the Wrenches, Knives or some Heavy melees.) Or if he has three slots, he can use the previous two slots I mentioned before and another. But with slight changes, such as the pistol slot being reserved for secondaries and the main slot being reserved for primaries. So for example in this example; Let's say he picked up a AWP, the panic attack (since it is technically a secondary, I'll allow it) and the atomizer. He can reliably bodyshot with the awp at Long range, Deal with any scouts at medium to close range with the set spread of the best shotgun in the game, and double jump to get more mobility to get into better spots. Essentially a more reliable randomizer that isn't 100% stupid

@@ratt__mann9220 If he was to be added in the original game, that would be a nice way to balance him, yes. You would never know against who you would be fighting, but would also know that he is not capable of building sentries, giving ubercharges or going invisible/backstabbing.

Class idea for him: he still has his unique weapons like his chainsaw and crowbar, he CAN pickup every class’s weapons but when using it is much less effective (i.e less damage or so) and he has one slot where he can put the said weapon to make it balanced.

please make a meet the Civilian, it would be so good

I would like to clarify though: this class idea, _with_ the other classes able to be used. like a game of 2fort, with the engies in intel, snipers all over the battlements, someone holding the bridge, and whatever else in between, and then just some guy in a ski mask running around with two force-a-natures and a crowbar in the sewers to just absolutely destroy that one player who keeps on capping.

hp: 175, speed: 107%, main gimmick: starts with dual pistols that fire every 0.20 seconds, deals 15 damage each, can steal dead enemies weapons (cannot collect any of spies cloaks) primary: dual pistols, secondary: tommy gun, 3rd slot: crowbar and the 4th slot is a radar that can be activated every 40 seconds and can ping where any enemy and enemy sentry is. tommy gun deals 10 damage and fires every 0.10 seconds. crowbar deals 70 damage and swings every 1.5 seconds.

The mercenary is basically fusion of all 9 mercs

I love the Bruce Campbell reference at the start.

He’ll have a more advanced pick up and drop system so he’ a teamwork class that can share items for his team.

Here's the stats: 200hp, and the same speed of a soilder. Primary: tommy gun, 10dps. A stock pistol for secondary. Crowbar for mele same stats as the stock bat, crits on headshots. The deathmatch can kill other mercs for their weapons with them just having -10%dps. He can't pick up mini guns due to them being really heavy. Disguise kits and DPAs have a 20% chance of spawning. Special weapons: power fist same as heavy's fist but -5% dps, every 20 seconds a boost can be activated, this increases speed and mele damage by 50% for 15 seconds. After the 15 seconds your speed and attack speed decreases by 20% for 5 seconds. Second special weapon: chainsaw, +75% damage -20% movement speed when in use. The chainsaw has a special kill taunt that makes you swing the saw like a mad man killing multiple people that are around you.
