Seeing Daigo with Ryu makes everything right in the world

I would love to know why he is using modern controls. I feel like losing jumping mp and hk, and I think light and heavy bakkai too, is just too big of a sacrifice to make. Especially when you're at his level.

Im not Master but im a d4 jamie, i like the modern controls, i don't see too much difference in practice.

​@@Tolti77light bakkai is amazing for ending combos and it's an easy entry for supers. Heavy bakkai is even better, it maximizes your damage when you get a nice heavy in when you're level 3. Also you get a flat damage reduction on modern... Which is detrimental when it comes to close fights. Not saying you're wrong in using modern but losing options and max damage in certain situations hurts. Especially with Jamie compared to some characters that do the same damage with 2 hits...

light up kick gives same situation as light bakkai just damage diff. He gains anti-airs that would be hard normally like when he dash forward and dp a back jump by daigo at 1:05, a poke with instant palms in neutral with no input 2:25-2:35, and instant ex bakkai through fireball at 7:30

​@@jordantian8861 palms still need the input, but yes, insta DP and insta bakkai for fireballs is a good plus in modern.

You can ask this for any body using modern on any character. He’s almost legend with it, he prefers reactions over damage
