Every single Polish person I've spoken to online wanted Blanka to flop, to send a message to TVP. I'm sorry for all Polish Eurovision fans because TVP will continue to rig their national final until the day they're no longer rewarded with a final place. Jann would have been in my top 3, Blanka is my last place. You personally have nothing to apologise for. 🙂

@@angelaburrow8114 Thank you so much! You have no idea how important it is to me that there are people in the Eurovision community who understand us. It's really hard to cut yourself off from a representative of your country. I am a Eurovision fan of 30 years. And seriously, since February, I've cried a few times from helplessness when people consider me a hater, because Blanka made herself a victim in several interviews. So - thank you for your empathy!

@PolishYourVision I really dislike Blanka, which is not like me. Normally I find positives about anybody but I simply find Blanka so unlikeable. In interviews she comes across as fake or plastic, with fake smiles. She reminds me of someone like the Kardashians but will even less talent. A KZreadr I watch said she shouldn't be blamed for the actions of TVP but I think her behaviour shows a lack of character. If I won a competition because of cheating, I would not take advantage of that but would simply resign. Of course I would want to win but it's a hollow victory if I only won that way. It has no value & would end up devaluing me & my integrity. The fact Blanka is happy to profit from the cheating shows she has little or no integrity, in my opinion. I cannot vote for an artist like that, even if I loved the song. Luckily I don't like it so there's no chance of even being tempted to vote for her. I'm very unhappy that the EBU did not investigate what happened with the voting in the Polish national final. I know people complained, including me, but I didn't get a reply, not even acknowledging receipt of my letter.

Poland's trick of throwing everything visually to mask the song is what ultimately led to Georgia not qualifying with minimal staging and no movement. Sigh. Iru's vocals really would have led her through to the final, in the past with the help of the juries, but saying through gritted teeth Poland did well.....

the stronger reason why EBU should bring back juries to the semifinals.
Man, this was a heartbreaking reveal to watch. Originally I thought the first semi final was much stronger, but wow I was really impressed with this semi. Nearly every country brought their A-game and elevated the song with their staging, and I wish there could have been 13 or 14 qualifiers. I had an inkling about Georgia not going through even though I loved her, and the moment they announced Albania first I started to get really concerned for Iru. Like I said though, ten amazing and well-deserved qualifiers, can't wait to see them all tomorrow.
Great redemption for Albania. Their performance was so good!

I was gutted that Georgia didn’t make it 😭
The minute that song came out, I just had the worst feeling that those stereotypically terrible lyrics were going to be the downfall of that song. If Iru had just sung the song in Georgian I think this qualifies. The staging wasn't perfect, but without really good singable lyrics, you needed that staging to be perfect. I think we're just at a level of quality in Eurovision now where poorly written or poorly translated English lyrics don't get a pass just on the Merit of being sung well.

my friends watching with me thought her vocals were really impressive but ...sadly got bored by the end :( i think the staging killed her chances a bit.
I was rooting for Australia and Slovenia, and may have resorted into prayer (which probably had no effect, coming from an atheist 😀) to get them both through. I knew it would be a tight race, since I feel everyone did really well. I would have liked to see Georgia and Iceland go through, too. But I'm so happy for Slovenia.
I am genuinely shaking for Saturday. It is like so many troops against a titan. Come on Kaarija

I wish if I could be there, the atmosphere is amazing, I’m upset for Georgia, she did so well
i had the exact same realisation after they called poland i really wasnt expecting both albania and poland, i thought only one of them or maybe even iceland instead waiting for slovenia almost gave a heart attack i was so nervous
ARMENIA 🇦🇲 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 she is amazing singer , what a voclas exactly like a studio version . and the staging just look so expensiv and clean 🩷🤍💜🖤
Slovenia is my winner and I was so fucking scared of losing them, I let out the loudest scream when they were finally announced. 😭 I also feel so sad for Iru. 😔
I was so,so nervous about Slovenia🇸🇮. And it was big relief when they called them. But I can't get over it that Georgia🇬🇪 flop. Iru absolutely deserves finals. It was heart breaking to see her crying and I would put her through instead of Poland🇵🇱. Yes, Blanka improved a lot, but Georgia🇬🇪 was better. I'm really sad for Georgian people.they send the best entry a long time ago and flop again.😪😪
Georgia and Slovenia were my two favourites and I will never get over this
With Alika and Monika especially in this semi-final, I think the weakness of the vocal for Greece and Denmark was just too apparent to overcome. Reilly wasn't bad by any means, but the vocal was just absolutely out classed. Greece was just an unfortunate victim of the young performer who was just maybe a bit too unprepared for the moment. I know folks wanted to hand wave the struggles during the rehearsals, but is very much should have been a concern.

The supposed weird massive disinterest in Georgia that was being reported was the one rumour that I caught wind of despite being busy over the last couple of days, which is why I took the ridiculous 4/1 NQ bet on them. (Shoutout to the bookies not paying attention there). Iru absolutely deserved to go through, but we needed one 'shock' at least. I hate how unpopular my music taste is. Lost 4 of my top 10 in the semis 😢
The second semi-final was messing with me😅I guessed 8 correctly, and at first put Belgium as a qualifier but then changed my mind because I started thinking that Poland and Albania would definitely go through (not necessarily a massive fan of both, but I appreciate Albania with what they are trying to do). I have put Georgia as a qualifier, but then again kinda had a feeling it won't work. And Cyprus' performance (visually) was excellent, but his voice didn't make me go crazy about that song, and I put it as a NO qualifier, and look now. 🤣Anyway, I am greatly relieved that Lithuania, Estonia, and Slovenia qualified 🤌(I had no doubt in Austria, Australia and Armenia)
Am I the only one who is more excited about seeing the split votes and detailed rankings from this semifinal than seeing who wins the grand finale? Still gutted about Georgia not making it. The only song I needed through from this semi...I just have this feeling they didn't even end up 11. Those Georgian wheels coming off the weeks into the semifinal was one of the weirdest things I've seen ever. What happened? Either it was ranked too high to begin with or someone did a lot to stop it from succeeding...which one was it?
Slovenia was my standout of the night Tom - probs in my top 3 overall 😉🇸🇮 Havent the semi finals added a whole new level of excitement to the contest! The Big 5 artists (unless they win) miss out on the ‘win’ moment of qualifying.

I think being an automatic qualifier is more of a curse than a benefit. Firstly they don't have the chance of performimh in semis which helps steady nerves, so their first appearance in the contest is the final, when they're against people who've experienced the semis. Secondly the casual viewer probably hasn't heard their song before. The first impressions of the songs qualifying from the semis was when they were compared to songs which weren't good enough to qualify, making the ones who did have the appearance of being better, enen if in reality they are no better, so they'll give off a positive impression meaning casual viewers will remember them positively from the semis. The Big 5 & former winner will not have this positive memory as they're being seen for the first time. They can't even be compared to potentially bad songs, because their competition is now all the best from the semis. This means they've less chance to make an impact. Thirdly there's some bad feeling over the Big Five especially getting a pass straight to the final, so their song has to be extra special to appeal. I think people expect more from a Big 5 song than they do for the ones who came via the semis. Just my opinion. 🙂

To say that I am upset is an understatement. I feel so gutted Iru will not be in the final. One of the best voices in Eurovision 2023, one of the most innovative songs while remaining true to its roots, amazing arrangements, I could go on and on. This should have not happened. I think that Echo was let down by its staging. Should the Georgian mask dancers of the video be on stage with Georgian drums this would have gone through. The first 2 minutes of the song just lacked the necessary impact to get through the masses used to more commercial styles like... Solo.... Maybe we should still have jury votes to even things out and ensure that quality acts make it to the final. It is a shame. She deserved her place. In my heart Iru and Blanca Paloma are the true winners of this festival. At an artistic level, nobody can match them. But of course, none of them will win. I just hope is not Poland at least! On the other hand, Albania smashed it. I did not have it as a qualifier but changed my mind after the performance. Australia brought the roof down. Oh yeah! Austria's staging was very disappointed. They lost the humour and so many cool things from the video... I am not sure they will make it to top 10 in the final now. It is worth to mention that Romania for me, went better than expected. Cyprus did well, but I am still not clear how many of the high notes are sung live and how many pre-recorded?

I got 17/20 which is a lot better than most years ones I didn't want were Albania, Poland and Portugal gutted for Georgia but those lyrics are fucking painful
Yeah, my Top 5 favourites from this semifinal : Armenia, Estonia, Cyprus, Georgia & Slovenia. Good luck!
As they were recapping every song I had to pick out my 6 least likely to win and it was HARD. So many of the songs had gone all out in this semi and made some choices really tough. Unfortunately I felt it was really obvious that Denmark, Greece, San Marino and Romania wouldn't qualify as they were recapping the songs. Denmark's was not quite a strong opener and the vocals were subpar. Greece felt quite bland until the last minute where I did in fact get goosebumps but it wasn't enough unfortunately. San Marino's song is just a bit samey, it starts, goes nowhere, then ends. Romania really suffered from the staging. He was all alone and I felt really bad for him. And the one backup dancer running in at the last second to smear paint on him really fell flat. Georgia and Iceland were tougher picks for me but I felt that they wouldn't qualify for a few reasons. Georgia's lyrics really aren't singable or enjoyable, from a few lines near the end, it seems as though the lyrics were an intentional choice to prove that love and power has no language. But the lyrics are so off-putting that it doesn't work. Nor did the staging really help out with the performance. Iceland suffered from very minimalistic staging, her voice was incredible but drowned out by the lack of interest in the stage layout. And when compared to the rest if the night's roster, it just didn't quite square-up to 10 others
Quite a thrilling reveal! Must say that I think everyone who qualified deserved it. Albania was completely under my radar, but their performance and staging were excellent. Same goes for Belgium: not a fan of the song but Gustaph sang so well and looked like he was having a blast on stage. Fully deserved! Georgia: I was never a fan of this song and even though Iru did very well on stage, the song and performance to me felt dragging and boring.
I can't deny it, as soon as I saw Poland staging and performance I knew it was quality and I didn't doubt that it would qualify. Especially with diaspora voting helping out... I just wish they could have rewarded Poland for good staging without rewarding them for essentially rigging their own National final. I just hope they don't do that crap again, because they're actually doing decently otherwise!

I have the same gripe I had for SF1, the announcement order at the end had zero tension. I had no doubt about the final three that were announced. Heartbreaking but unsurprising that TVP gets away with it.

also though I'm seeing that Poland took Georgia's spot, I'd guess more specifically Albania had a lot more to do with it. i think their niches are just a bit closer, and i think albania's full package and voting pool was just stronger in the end. both should have been in, though.
