Seyhan's wing flapping mechanism

Ғылым және технология

This is a video of a wing flapping mechanism I came up with. In the video voice-over groove pronounced as grove and I am sorry for this mishap. Today I am going to upload two 3D animation of this mechanism.
Here is another video done with this concept by smart ideas team

interesting mechanism , I think bird like flying toys will be the next rival to drones. can't wait to see this happen. Well done

Does lego use precision slide submechanisms? Better figure out a way to insert inj mold cheap teflon or polyprop parts.

⚠️ God has said in the Quran: 🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 ) 🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 ) 🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 ) 🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 ) 🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. Whenever they are provided with a provision of fruit therefrom, they will say, "This is what we were provided with before." And it is given to them in likeness. And they will have therein purified spouses, and they will abide therein eternally. ( 2:25 ) ⚠️ Quran

Hi Seyhan, That's a wonderful solution! It's exciting to know that Thang is going to collaborate by doing a 3D model. It's always great to see your videos. Thanks BTW: I think your design needs a name that goes along with your flap designs.

instead of using classic motors u can use electro magnets for linear movements lik the ones in the old door bells changing polarity will move the sliders up or down. Also u can make sliders from neo. megnates and use a single coil to move. The coil must be in the center so that the total weight of the system will go down.

Please allow me a suggestion: What about a solenoïd to achieve the linear motion (up/down stroke) instead of a rotation, wich induces friction between the (have to be there to suit the situation but the world would be a better place without these extra) mechanical parts (to get a translation from a rotation) and the worse: extra weight and lateralisation (due to the rotation of the motor)? With a sloenoïd between both of the end of the wings -it would have two steps: first to contract, then expand to achieve a "flap". Therefore the piece is working 100% of the time. (I hate things like the 4 stroke explosion engines with 3 "non-positive" strokes..) Flight stability is compromised unless it's compensated with... extra parts/mechanism... I really like your objective, methodic & rational thinking. Therefore the focus stays on the subject so "evolution of thinking" can take it's place. Once, I heard "less parts is better". My ex gf used to say "never go to another room in the house with empty hands and you will soon notice you're saving time when cleaning." .. I'm taking a try based from this way of thinking in this comment. I learn more than wing motion from your videos. Thanks.

Thank you for your interest and suggestion. Is there powerful but light solenoids out there. All the solenids I so saw so far much heavier than motors? I think they are power hungry devices, however I am not expert in the subject.

Neither am I, but the power (V*A) induced, the size/number of turns of wire, the weight/inertia, the travel lenght of the "piston" are factors wich must be choosed carefully. Building a solenoïd to suit a specific usage should'nt be that much of a challenge to you. And it can be coupled to a lever of some kind to slow it's speed, wich will -in this specific case- boost it's force, plus it can be 'timed' to counteract or follow the "bird's" movement, thus balancing it.. I'm impatient to see the evolution and the result. Best luck to you! Have fun!

I think u have a good idea but what every body is missing is the concept of human flapping wings so I have to have natural law working for u the wings need to flap grime cinder to end without giving up energy the way that could work is under natural tension and release so picture a recurve bow the arms are the bone of the wing the draw string is pulled curving the wing and then releasing causing a natural fast flap the only way to go is open it the flap or up and forward

  • @deancole5279

But us your idea to pull the draw cables and realest to grab again and repeat the Same motion now you have energy from tip to center not going to waist ither
