Many thanks. Just heard about this. I went to DIME to download it where it says it's on KZread but wanting to avoid youtube processing/lossy I downloaded from DIME. As the DIME version is missing the Johnny interview I thought I'd check it out on youtube. Then I see the flac links here! Oh well, my DIME ratio is OK so no problem. Again - many thanks.

@@MrJakeTucker Yeah, wanted to be extra safe with the DIME upload and not risk getting it banned for whatever reason, so only included the Club Zebra show which is totally unsurfaced. But dropped links here on youtube and Guitars101 as well to spread it out as much as possible.

@@rfustokvev Thanks for replying. My gig going years started in 1980 when I was 14. I came across a few people that did see them. I lived in West London and the older brother of a friend saw them at Uxbridge Brunel.
Where was it hidden for almost half a century? What a great live recording. Another proof that they really knew how to play.💣

Wow just wow. Another absolute gem unearthed and this one sounds amazing. So much energy, they're on fire here. Sid's doing great here too. All the funny guys still laughing at Sid's abilities need to listen to this. He's no virtuoso, nobody ever said he was but he could play OK and here's the proof. Loved the Pistols for 45 years and this sort of thing just fuels and sustains my obsession.

The thing about Sid is one of the great myths of music isn’t it. Time and again people who’ve got no idea say the same old rubbish. McLaren obviously didn’t help. I’m sure you’ve heard the Winterland sound check and he plays well there too. I agree the appeal of the Pistols has never dimmed… I keep thinking I’ll move on one day but no….

WHAT A GREAT TIME TO BE ALIVE!
Let's not get too carried away about Sid's playing folks. He shows potential on this recording but is passably OK at best at this point...and mainly because he wasn't messed up on heroin yet and was dilligently and being coached by Jones and actuallly put in the effort to get up to speed. Jones himself has said that Sid was working hard to learn his parts during this period and did bring a spark to things. Alas...not for long as he succumbed to his ego and drug habit. No Nancy? He may well have successfully emulated the Clash's Paul Simonon's transition from neophyte to decent bassist.
Wonderful......thank you!
I will say just well done to who found this it's live but also very good indeed

Its AI! its too good to be true. Sounds more like demos than soundcheck for the first section. Soundcheck normally is checking each instrument and then a couple of tunes like there is when Lydon is with them.

*Great band. I know it was his first media exposure, but Rotten's (now) constant screed about his litany/checklist of grievances is tiresome. If you're new to it, it does sound justified, but it's dated (and completely subjective). Britain was in the midst of a recession at the time, but they weren't anything near impoverished. His take on the 'swinging sixties' is totally amateurish, too - and he lived through it. Lydon's an intelligent chap, but his chip was far too obviously seen in the interview here*
