You can hear Joy Division, Brian Eno, Aphex Twin and Pink Floyd all in one sound. Kraftwerk doesn't have a place in everyones heart, but they have a place in everyones ear. Revolutionary.

In my first and only Kraftwerk concert ( ca. 2006) I stood right in front of Florian and he stared at me all the time. First I felt uncomfortable, almost hypnotised . For "The model" he had a glas of prosecco on his cosole, gave me a cheers and we both said "korrekt". Unforgetable !

First heard Kraftwerk when I was 10. Man Machine and Trans Europe Express and I'd practise the drums playing along. I'd search record shops for the legendary Autobahn and Radioactivity, which were out of press by the time I'd heard of them. Finally found them on reissue and bought straight away. Anyway, couldn't find Ralf and Florian and guy I knew (avid record collector) had Kraftwerk and Kraftwerk 2, but wouldn't tape them for me, cos he was a "true collector" whatever that means. Out of nowhere, one day, while staying with friends I wandered into their local music store and did the usual - randomly perused through the electronic section and there it was. Hadn't enough cash on me, but begging friends I did. Bought it and have never stopped playing it. I understand why Ralf doesn't recognise this as a real Kraftwerk album, but I love it.

I bought my grandma (born and raised in Aschaffenburg, Germany) Kraftwerk's first three albums for Christmas a few years ago. It was the first time she ever heard Kraftwerk's music, and she listened to all three albums front to back, laughed and said "Wow, this is really psychedelic!!" Sadly, she left this earth on February 26th at 74 years old, but I just know her and Florian are up there having a good laugh about his music... Rest well Oma, I'm jamming this for you. 🤟❤

'Ralf und Florian" is the 3rd studio album by the German band Kraftwerk. It was released in October 1973 on Philips Records & saw the group moving toward its signature electronic sound. All the tracks were written, performed and produced by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, with the sessions engineered by Konrad "Conny" Plank. Kraftwerk: Ralf Hütter - vocals, keys, efx, bass, guitar, zither, drums, perc Florian Schneider - vocals, keys, efx, flute, violin, guitar, perc Konrad "Conny" Plank - sound engineer

I'm old enough to recall Autobahn on the car radio (used to ask my Dad to turn it up!) and been a big fan since my teens, saw them on the Computer World tour and still own most of the original albums on vinyl. And if I had to create a 10 track compilation of my all-time favourite tracks then Tongebirge and Heimatklänge would ALWAYS feature. In addition, Kristallo and Tanzmusik are surely two of the earliest examples of what we can call ‘electronic dance or techno music’...

The reason is that the creators, who were young at the time, used to party a lot, and stole signaling pads. They stole so many of them (more than 250) and brought them back to their office that they started using them as megaphones and organizing games like "signaling pad ball" and "acrobatic signaling pad". It ended up becoming the logo of the application they were developing.

I think Kraftwerk's first three albums are absolute gold. There is something very special about them. It almost feels separate to me from other music. It's a more cathartic and open feel. Their early music is very cinematic in ways, but never feels fake to me. Autobahn and Radioactivity I like a lot as well. Haven't listened to the others as much.

I have loved this album for 40+ years: the pastoral tones are beyond beauty and the dance-driven stuff are - of course - ahead of time. An Australian band, Died Pretty, used "Crystals" as a source track for their own beautiful epic...it would be wonderful for Ralf & Florian to acknowledge this album and bring it back to us in beautiful, gifted vision. Uh oh - there's"Tongebirge"! And it's utterly gorgeous...

Donna Rawlins French, I bought this in a small base exchange in Okinawa, Japan ~’75 for 10 cents. It was a cutout. I had bought Radioactivity about a year before. ‘Twas like night and day. You can probably guess to which I listen 2 more often ;) 40+ years? Yes, and woowww!

In the United States it was released in the record stores as a follow-up to Autobahn. Obvious that the record company wanted to capitalize on the success of Autobahn with a follow-up. As a young teenager I looked at the copyright dates and figured out the album came before Autobahn.

This record is pivotal in Kratwerk's history. Deserves the recognition, cause it's the transition and the development between the more "krautrock" style to the more pure electronic evolution. I'ts a brilliant album.
