Steve Jones is an unbelievably underrated guitarist.........I saw the Pistols live and HE held it all together.....his solo album Fire & Gasoline is a banger. The Pistols were much more than a punk band......they were a rock band and great at it too......👍

Rotten is a great singer. He's intense and has his own sound which is perfect for Punk. The Pistols were such a great band. A bit unfortunate they broke up so soon but still one legendary album is better than a string of mediocre ones.

You need to listen to Submission, New York and EMI these tracks are excellent songs. Submission wasnt on the UK edition 11 track album but it was on the 12th track and U.S. releases. So it does count as a song on the album its a great catchy tune. Submarine mission of love. EMI is a total diss at the label completely its probably one of the first diss tracks made in music.

Spend a little time researching the Sex Pistols. It will pay off. They were amazing and hilarious. So much drama with them. From Malcom McLaren's discovery and creation of them. Their publicity stunts. Giving huge record labels a big shit sandwich...and then doing it again...and then publicly mocking them. Their ill fated US tour. The downfall of Sid Vicious. Here's an early clip of them on Live TV that went the way you would think. Then the Sex Pistols released the song, "EMI" in which they stick their fingers into the eye of EMI. This clip was done 6 days after EMI kicked them off their label. As mentioned, they already spent the 40,000 that was fronted to them by EMI. EMI's statement was, " "EMI feels it is unable to promote this group's records in view of the adverse publicity generated over the past two months." Then A&M signed them and they did the same thing to them. Then they made the very strange film "Who killed Bambi" which mocked EMI and A&M and gave directions on how to rip off Record labels. The Blonde girl in the clip is a very young Siouxsie of later Siouxsie and the Banshees fame. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aox7x8GhnsbZmbA.html

Still hoping that someday you'll check out the best L.A. punk band, X. Their first four albums were produced by Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek. Their sound is punk, but is really corralled by Manzarek and made a bit more acceptable by mainstream audiences. And John and Exene's vocals are truly unique when they're "harmonizing". Those first four albums are critically acclaimed, and the first two are on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time list. edit: It seems their second album, 'Wild Gift', has droped off of the December 2023 updated list, but their first album, 'Los Angeles', is still on it.

Saw them about a decade ago in Atlanta. The Detroit Cobras were the opening act. It was a standing room venue. While watching the Cobra’s a guy next to me asked for a light. I looked over and it was Billy Zoom. After the set I talked with him for a few cigarettes. What a nice guy he is.

A decent track, but it never really stood out for me, I'd kind of forgotten about it actually. I myself care much more for Liar by Henry Rollins. (Liar by Queen ain't bad either {different genre though})

You can listen to " Stepping Stone " and " Lonely boy " sung by Steve Jones. Not that pure energy, but tremendeous too !! Came just a little bit later !! That band is iconic for all the lovers of rock&roll ❤❤❤❤❤

Jones never sang '(I'm not your) Stepping Stone. It was a staple of their live set sang as always by Rotten. Never recorded in the studio, although the demo is on 'Swindle'. Maybe you mean Silly Thing.

'Ole Audiophile to JP: I was a child of the 50s & 60s. By 1977, I'd married & bought a house. Punk rubbed many of us the wrong way because of the way it was performed and recorded. Rough & ready they played & rough & ready they likewise recorded most of it. The artists bragged about un-high-fidelty their music was. It was an early first strike to me & many of my audiophile pals. It eventually grew on us like moss grows on a decaying log. MTV was both a blessing & a curse, they said it all in the lyrics of MTV's first song 'Video Killed The Radio Star'. It eventually did by bringing Pop music back from the dead & back to the mainstream. By 1985-86, mainstream rock had serious damage done by Hair Metal acts, Ballad rock & Grunge. The Grunge evolved, that helped a great deal but by then most of us had abandoned purchasing music & delved deeply into motion pictures as HIFI stereo VCRS had plummeted in price. Thanx/FYI during this era...

I did not quit music completely but I quit purchasing Rock. Many of us delved back into Classical & started exploring New Age for it's wonderous dynamics. That didn't last... Then along came KMFDM to the rescue. By the mid 90s, I was locked & loaded again.

you gotta react to 'Nothing Left Inside' by Black Flag, maybe a live performance, or a performance of another song from the B-side of their My War album. People often say that Black Flag invented the Sludge Metal genre on the B-side of My War.

It's a minor track on the album and has elements that sound familiar from other tracks but it's still a great blast 47 (eek!) years later. Please do listen to Did You No Wrong which was the B-side to God Save the Queen and perhaps should have made the original album.

Good morning, I can't help feeling that this reminds me, that. "The Mercy Seat is waiting. And I think., and I think. my head is burning. And in a way I'm yearning. To be done with all this measuring of truth. An eye for an eye, and a truth for a truth. And anyway I told the truth. But I'm afraid I told a lie.", ( and I'm not afraid to die.)-- Nick Cave. Peace & Love.
