The Cinema Snob reviews the movie version of Sex and the City.

"Carrie wait I'm sorry" said with all the passion of a McDonalds cashier reading your order back to you.
I honestly like when Brad gets genuinely passionate about this and other stuff that surprises me. It's just sweet how you care about the original series and characters
I just realized Brad knows more about sex and the city than an inner city homosexual.

I'm curious as to how you came to think inner city homosexuals have any interest in Sex and The City....I don't think most of them even watch that much TV.
The snob has the best angry face I've ever seen.
All those closets and no War Room jokes? That's a missed opportunity, Brad.

I don't know what I was expecting to see today, but it certainly wasn't Brad reviewing Sex & The City and also referencing The Critic. But what the hell, I'm game :)
This review has become one of my new favorites just because of Brad knowing Sex and the City better than its own creators.

I always think of the old-school Family Guy episode where Brian's gay friend calls in a favor, making it sound like sexual hijinks will ensue, and it turns out he just wants to watch Sex and the City with him. Brian's summary: "So... it's a show about three hookers and their mom?" always pops up in my head whenever this franchise is referenced.

Jay Sherman cameo and paper throwing away for good characters written terribly are best part of the video.

Whisper it, but in all seriousness, I really had assumed that someone had made a porno spoof of SATC and had named it SITC (or vice versa). I genuinely wasn't expecting the actual film. Totally worth it it though. Lauras 'fake carrie' monologues initially caught me out as well. A little more work on the audio levels and I'd probably have completely fallen for some of the subtler ones.

Who else finds Snob's reviews more convincing than the Nostalgia Critic's?
@beethovensfidelio

At least Cinema Snob actually researches the movies he reviews. He’s incredibly film savvy given how he is able to name drop movies that actors starred in at the drop of a hat.
I kinda love the show too much to have ever found the will to watch the movie, knowing they were gonna shit on the entire development of the former, like you said. But this review? This I can do. Thanks for making it bearable, Snob. (Plus my mind is also blown that you watched the show and know *exactly* why this movie hurts. I didn't expect it.)
@MyssBlewm

Rebeca A. Yes, stay away from the films. I stayed away from the show for a few years because I thought watching both movies was a good idea. Eventually, I decided to rewatch the show and was surprised at how good it was because I only remember the pains of seeing the characters become parodies of themselves. Snob's review was a lot of fun. LOL
So The Snob is a Miranda. BTW I was a big Sex and the City fan until the films came out and ruined any good will I had towards the franchise. Rewatching the show recently, it was pretty good! The last season kind of sucked because I wasn't very interested in Carrie's various plots, especially since I hated how her whole arch was whether or not she would end up with Big. I really enjoyed everything else, though. And yes, I fucking hated how the movie ruined the series. The second film was way, way worse though.
The best character, Harry....the one who says the least. Sums up the movie perfectly

At times Brad does reference the Critic in his reviews
I told my mother what the subject of this video was, and she immediately seemed to have an extended PTSD flashback.
It warms my heart that you're into Sex and the City. My friends and I spent many a weekend afternoon in high school yelling at the show - in an engaged way, not a hatewatching way - and it makes me sad that in a lot of circles you can't admit to having enjoyed it.
Anyone else shocked and, by God, kind of impressed by Brad's intimate knowledge of and appreciation for "Sex and the City" lore? I know I'm referencing the wrong show, but thanks Brad. You watch it so I don't have to.
Looking at this movie, my constant thought, looking at everything is, "It must be nice to have money." Every character is this wealthy, vapid stereotype blank slate and they're designed that way on purpose so that idiot viewers can put themselves in their shoes and see themselves and their friends as these characters in their fantasies. This movie of course doesn't do that justice by having one shit in her pants, but you know what I mean. Many people have fantasies of having these New York adventures, finding love, dating guys, going out with friends to trendy cupcake and wine bars (Yes, this is the show that started that trend). Many people have these fantasies of having this "upscale life" and these "goofy adventures" and by making these characters as blank and stereotypical as possible, it allows people to assign themselves to one, one of their friends to another, another friend to another. Everyone has a friend who's "The funny one.". Everyone has a friend who's "The straight one." etc.. That's how they wrote this show.
When you watch a chick-flick and your girlfriend gets drunker and angrier than you...

Wow. kudos to the Cinema Snobs for making Sex in the City entertaining!
I worked in a theatre when Sex and the City 2 came out Now, I can no longer say "I wouldn't watch that if you paid me" because now I have. Twice.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY YOU DID THIS BUT IT'S SO GOOD THANK YOU
I almost died when the theme from "Mannequin" started playing...AND you worked in a reference to the "Girls just want to have fun" movie? Not fair -- you made my wife love you even more.
"Love Letters of Great Men", which Carrie borrows from the library, was a prop created for the film and no such book existed during production. Demands from fans wishing to purchase the book led to many editions of a "Love Letters of Great Men" book being published. The official tie-in version was compiled by John C. Kirkland and released the same day as the film, and other editions were compiled by Ursula Doyle and Becon Hill.
You do realise you now have to snob the sequel... dear God, the sequel...
Ah, 2008, the year when WALL-E came out, MCU started, and, two shitty movie adaptation of long forgotten television show suddenly appeared in our theaters. Why?.

I am amazed at how much free time those women had to go to fancy auctions, out to eat, shop and just fly off to Mexico. I mean two of them had kids and they all had jobs but I have learned not to question this show or series. lol
The Critic was taken from us much too soon. The show that could stay relevant forever by critiquing modern cinema was cancelled, while The Simpsons that stopped being relevant decades ago are still going on.
I love the show, and I still love it to this day. I used to have the DVD of the entire series as well as the first one and the sequel. but I have it on digital now, but I haven't bit torrent the first and second film yet. This is the movie that I enjoyed so much, and I would love to go back and re-watch it again and again and again.
I really want to binge watch the Sex and the City tv series with The Cinema Snob. We could even do it with a dress up montage.
This is one of the all time best CS episodes ever. Fricken hysterical Brad!!!!
The only thing that's worse than a tacked on post-series movie is one that disregards continuity and character growth. And I don't even watch Sex and the City!

Honestly, I think the post-series movie thing CAN work if you are talented enough to write how well you can appease the concept from the most logical way possible instead of making shit up that mis-represents and ruins your franchise's legacy.

The Farscape and Firefly movies were both awesome. Granted, they were written and directed by the shows' showrunners, and more importantly, made with passion
Jay Sherman to review a 1990's - early 2000s TV show set in New York.... You're the fucking best, Snob. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
Not a bad Jay Sherman, man. So great to see people still remember how brilliant that show was.
I remember my ex-best friend dragging me to see this as well as the sequel. I didn't watch the series and I had no interest in seeing it or the movies. At least I got popcorn and soda, that was the only good thing that came from seeing the movies.
I agree this film's major issue is MPK. The show had a great writing staff and Michael should've collaborated with them on the script. You had me cracking up about Charolette's crazy eyes. It's especially funny because I first saw the actress on Melrose Place and her eyes were especially crazy but I also remember her actually being psychotic. And yes Jhud was getting her mammy on. In regards to the sequel I had to immediately apologize to my friend for taking her with me to go see it.
The Snob is such a forum weapon. I need most of his quotes in separate video format.
I'm not sure why moved from New York to Springfield, IL, but it's good to see he doing somewhat okay.
I think the more fucked up thing about the dog humping is that the director had to cue the dog to do that every time offscreen.
I love it when Brad makes his angry frown face. That's the only reason in glad this move exists.

I don't know why, but Jay Sherman's laughter cracks me up.
I think the most shitty thing about Samantha's breakup with Smith is that she said the exact same words to him that she did when she left Richard, because he was never going to stop cheating on her.
I never thought I'd hear Brad sing macho man but now I've heard it I want the full song 😁

In Sex in The City the main 4 girls break up with their boyfriends no damn reason. They meet a guy that they have good chemistry with, and some convoluted, insignificant, stupid thing happens that breaks them up. That is basically the premise of the show, it sucks.
