Very nice! I picked up sewing during this lockdown as i have loads of free time at hand. Just last week i drafted 2 patterns for bowties, one is a slim batwing shape with a pointed tip and the other is a asymmetrical half butterfly, half batwing. Today i was just about to start sewing one with a proper fabric, and then this video pops up. Thanks for this! Tips for turning it to the other side after sewing will come in handy. Cheers! :)

Good advice to baste before pressing. Thank you. Now I'm going to share some advice to you:. All neckties and bowties should be cut on the bias, you'll find that it makes the ties more comfortable, wearable, and easier to tie and untie the knots.

I never thought of basting the edge before pressing, that would work with collars as well.

Thanks for the video. It was great seeing how the bowtie is constructed. As a suggestion you should do a video showing how to tie both a bowtie and a tie with a dimple 😊

While I agree that you can damage the fabric and shape while turning if you are not careful... a have a good tip. Use the back end of a wooden spoon. They are generally narrow enough to turn the fabric while rounded so that they don't cause damage. Just take your time when turning so you don't stretch the shape out. It's advice I got when I took a tailoring course.

I've pre-ordered the english version of the book, but I'm wondering if you're ever going to make a book about 1920s suit jackets? I'm very interested in beltsac suits, which are suits with belts that go around the waist. Could you make a video about them? Or maybe a sewing tutorial, either in book or video form? I can't wait for more of your videos, keep up the good work! :)

Hello. I am very curious to know why this isn't the way long neckties are made. Why are those folded instead of sewn together like that? Is there a historical or a practical reason? Greetings.

Good question. I do not, even when I use silk, because I prefer the drape without interfacing. The knots tend to become too big and so on.
