Oh wow. Didn't know you could sew a bowtie. You live, you learn. Thank you Niklas for teaching us.
No prejudice against the bow tie but can't wait for you to show how to make a tie. Thanks for your content. It's very inspiring!
Very nice! I picked up sewing during this lockdown as i have loads of free time at hand. Just last week i drafted 2 patterns for bowties, one is a slim batwing shape with a pointed tip and the other is a asymmetrical half butterfly, half batwing. Today i was just about to start sewing one with a proper fabric, and then this video pops up. Thanks for this! Tips for turning it to the other side after sewing will come in handy. Cheers! :)
Good advice to baste before pressing. Thank you. Now I'm going to share some advice to you:. All neckties and bowties should be cut on the bias, you'll find that it makes the ties more comfortable, wearable, and easier to tie and untie the knots.
10 seconds in and I literally gasped out loud, Love love love the Mucha prints behind you! 😍
The sped up material in combination with the soothing music and the flickering spots of sunlight make this a very calming experience. Love it!
How do you work out the size of bow tie to fit your neck size pls?
I love all your videos and this tutorial is easy to follow and the result is stunning!
Very good videos coming from this channel!
I never thought of basting the edge before pressing, that would work with collars as well.
Love it! You've just given me a great idea with what to do with a gorgeous scrap of plaid wool I found in my stash the other day.
Thanks for the video. It was great seeing how the bowtie is constructed. As a suggestion you should do a video showing how to tie both a bowtie and a tie with a dimple 😊
While I agree that you can damage the fabric and shape while turning if you are not careful... a have a good tip. Use the back end of a wooden spoon. They are generally narrow enough to turn the fabric while rounded so that they don't cause damage. Just take your time when turning so you don't stretch the shape out. It's advice I got when I took a tailoring course.
I've got to say, I'm not a fan of the time-lapses with music. I'd prefer to have commentary or something along with it. Otherwise I love your videos and can't wait to see more from you!
Love the music and seeing the beautiful lighting from nature. Great ambience and kept me engaged.
😂🤣😂 new to the community and already putting inside jokes in your videos ❤️

I just couldn't help myself. :D
Nice!! The bowtie looks so good and the music selection was lovely!
Well done. Thank you Sir.
I have lots of sewing experience but I really wish you had demonstrated turning your tie without using any tools. I can't visualize how to make that happen. Particularly getting the bow through the "neck(?)"
Very good man !
Wow! I’ve been subscribed to your Instagram account for a while now and had no idea you had a channel on KZread! Thanks for the video on making a bow tie! I will be putting it to good use here soon.
Aw man, i was looking high and low for help a couple days ago, thank you!
I would like to have seen you sew the bowtie leaving the center open.
Ooh, I love bowties!!
Looks great!
Nice. Will try it 👍🏾
Interesting channel, found your Gereon Rath video by accident. Nice stuff.
I want to ask,do you need an interlining for them,if yes can i use suits interlining for fused jackets?
brilliant my friend
Very cool!
I love bow ties but they are overly expensive compared to ties with more material. Now I will make my own.
Excellent! Thanks.
I've pre-ordered the english version of the book, but I'm wondering if you're ever going to make a book about 1920s suit jackets? I'm very interested in beltsac suits, which are suits with belts that go around the waist. Could you make a video about them? Or maybe a sewing tutorial, either in book or video form? I can't wait for more of your videos, keep up the good work! :)

Thank you! Maybe we will be at jacket construction here a some point, but I'm afraid we won't do a book about that.

@@Vintagebursche Either way I'm looking forward to more content!
I bought some patterns but never tried making one .
Hello. I am very curious to know why this isn't the way long neckties are made. Why are those folded instead of sewn together like that? Is there a historical or a practical reason? Greetings.
i love u breeeeeeeeeeo
What are the strap measurements in between bows??
Hello! Thank you so much for this video! If I purchase the electronic copy of the sewing book, will it include the template to the bowtie for this video? Please le me know.

Can you do a pre-tied bowtie?
Hello Niklas! I just found your channel, today, and I am thoroughly enjoying it! I tried to retrieve the site to purchase your sewing book, only to be met with error 404. Would you please direct a path for me to acquire a copy of it? Thank you for your channel and if you get the urge to change any part of it, please suppress it!

Hello William, thank you for your interest. The URL in the video description works. Alternatively, you can go to vintagebursche.de/?lang=en and click on "Sewing Vintage Menswear" at the top.
How do you size it? Do you just make the neckband the same as your collar size?
@Vintagebursche

Basically, yes. I suggest taking a bowtie you have as a reference for the size. If you don't have one, make a mock-up.
Super Video!

Great video, Niklas! Where did you get your collar clip? I have been looking to get one but i cannot seem to find a good one anywhere. Thanks!

Flea market :)
Great video again, Niklas. Do you use an interfacing for bow ties?
@Vintagebursche
4 жыл бұрын
Good question. I do not, even when I use silk, because I prefer the drape without interfacing. The knots tend to become too big and so on.
Hi, I want to ask where did you buy the Mucha's posters?
@Vintagebursche

They are from a 2019 calendar I took apart. The calendar was gifted to me, but I guess you might find something like this on Amazon.
What is that book of sewing patterns and any idea where it can be found?
