I HAVE HAD A TON OF REQUESTS TO TEST THE SEVR 2.0 VS THE RAGE HYPODERMIC NC BOTH IN 2 INCH CUT TO SEE WHICH PERFORMED BETTER SIDE BY SIDE!!
AS SEEN IN THE TEST BOTH BROADHEADS HAD GREAT WOUND CHANNELS AS SEEN IN PREVIOUS TESTS BUT THE SEVR 2.0 HAD SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER PENETRATION THAN THE HYPODERMIC NC AND HAVING TESTED THE TOUGHNESS OF BOTH HEADS ALREADY THE SEVR ALSO WINS IN THAT CATEGORY
SO AFTER THIS TEST THE SEVR 2.0 FLAT OUT OUT PERFORMS THE RAGE HYPODERMIC NC

Ive shot the Sevr 2.1 and 2.0 and I like them alot. My main thing I love is the fact they truly shoot identical to a field tip. Ive tested it numerous times and its a huge relief to throw on a broadhead and its gonna go in the exact same spot as your field tip if they weigh the same. Ive gotten complete pass throughs before given broadside shots and also quartering away shots with no deflections yet.

This is going to be my first year using a crossbow a RM415 with a 608 grain CE piledriver bolt 100 brass insert and 150 head. I’m heading to Illinois in November. Also my first year using a mechanical head. I’m taking Schwacker 251s 3” cut and Sevr Robusto 2” to hunt with or that’s the plan if they both group well and I’m betting or hoping both will. The landowner my old airforce buddy swears by the Rages in his crossbow. I’m going to find out what is what I’m sure. Thanks for your videos, really like them. I have been bowhunting with a compound since 1988 but a lot of this broadhead technology is new to me.

Saw on Archery site that the sevr 2.0 ( what I was going to try ) had bad penetration. , Dull blade new and bad blood trails . A lot of post said the same thing ?
@BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA
3 жыл бұрын
I didn’t see dull blades but it does lack in penetration
Coming from a guy that has shot 40-50 deer with rage and a few with the sevr 1.5. I can 100% tell you the sevr is 5 times more durable than the rage and they work great but I can also 100% tell you that the blood trails from the rage are a bit more devastating. It sucks they aren't as durable but it gets the job done everytime. Ive shot many big bucks through the scapula with the rage and blown through. Some times you get a small exit hole with the sevr if it pivots. When this happens your blood trail isn't very good for the first 20-30 yards but then opens up. The best rage they ever had was the red chisel tip. I just prefer the 2 inch cut over the extreme chisel. If they came out with a 2 inch red chisel tip head with the nc I wouldn't shoot another head ever again. I shot 7 deer one year with the same rage chisel head

@allenr6687

The problem with larger fixed blade heads in hunting is you aren’t always shooting in the most comfortable positions.It’s very easy to torque a bow or put to much face pressure on strings resulting in a bow that is no longer “tuned” and that large fixed head is going where it wants. Sure a mechanical is going to be off but not nearly as much.
Have you ever compared the Sevr 1.5 vs the 2.0? Just curious how much more penetration the 1.5 would have. I enjoy the videos and your tests, you have an awesome channel!

What happens with SEVR is when it penetrates, if you push down on the wings you will see the SEVR open up just a little bit more! Also, SEVRs blades lock into position and moves around bone if it should hit it which makes it more devastating!!! I wish I could send you what the 2.0 did to the Turkeys I shot! Complete pass thru as well as devastating holes and broke BOTH OF THE BIG WING BONES! THEY SHOULD HAVE CALLED THIS HEAD THE DEVASTATOR!!!! Great test just adding my .2 cents. Thanks for the video. Should put a piece of leather or something over the front of the gel. It will simulate the “skin” it goes through, which helps mechanicals deploy fully with the resistance it gives. Sometimes ballistic gel can be a little too soft. Cool video!!

I shoot that Rage in your hand. I will say that I do agree the blades are a bit more fragile than they should be. But two stories since I went to the Rage Hypo NC 1st deer was quartering away. I put it where it needed to be and it took off the top of the heart and sliced both lungs on the inside against the heart. Something a 1.5 or 1” simply won’t do with that same shot. 2nd deer, same exact broadhead: Shot was Behind the front shoulder slightly quarter away. It cleaned out both lungs, and blew straight through the opposite blade at one of its thickest parts. Pulled the joint apart and all. Dropped her on the spot. Edit: it did break one blade off at the shaft. But the damage was already done. If that was an entry impact, I’m not so sure. Rage Hypodermic NC has been incredible for me. But the rage 3 blade SC, and SS, have let me down 3 times. Once on an awesome buck that I thought for sure was double lunged. Shot was slightly high, but maybe 2” -3” from the vital V. Blood for 150 yards and gone forever. I know that if I had the Hypodermic NC knocked that day, that buck would be on the wall. If you’re gonna shoot rage. The Hypodermic is the only broadhead I would use.
I shoot the sevr 2.0 and love it I shoot obsession fixation 7xp at 18.5" 73lbs with a easton 5mm fmj arrow 500 grain at about 290 fps and it is poison on whitetails

I get your angle it’s why I switched to fixed head’s especially after the most testing we did I don’t for-see returning to mechanicals although I still want to kill one with the thrive 1.5 single bevel mechanical so I don’t rule it out entirely 🤣

It’s 78.5 lb draw not 80 but the speed isn’t slow with that arrow weight, the vxr isn’t a screaming bow speed wise by no means but archers understand there is A LOT more important statistics than IBO speed ahahaha my triax with the wake limbs is 83.5 # draw maybe you mixed them up

Barbed heads are illegal in NY & personally not a fan of them either, we have tested the meat seeker, it was ok better options in my setup without the added risk
