Luke, I am sorry the tent is leaking but this is one of my favorites. I love the sound of “powerful winds” blowing in a forest. Takes me back to some of my favorite times as a kid! I would hide in the sparse forest near our home so my father could not beat me. I associate storms with “peace and safety.” At 77 I am over that trauma but I still adore wind and heavy rain. 🙏❤️🦅

I just shut down my KZread channel after 7 years of reviewing guitars along with my brother. We never reviewed a guitar that I didn't purchase at full price with my own money, except for a couple of my brother's personal axes. I didn't want anyone to question the integrity of our reviews because we were getting free guitars. I don't think it's possible to stay honest when you are getting free items for review because you always have to consider that factor. I'm rather proud of that.

@@susanwright6785 the best tent I've owned is the "Bushmen core tent lodger" combined with "DD Tarp 3x3 MC". Highly suggest looking into it! It's about $350 and what's so cool about it is the fact your rain fly can be multi-use since it's a tarp. So you can either have it completely pegged down for cold weather or in a lean to configuration for hot weather. I'm surprised more people don't know about it! You do have to learn a bit of tarp knowledge but that's easy once you get the hang of it.

I grew up in the White Earth reservation in the early 70's, one would think the bald eagle would be seen there of all places, north central Minnesota next to Itaska state forest and the Tamarac refuge, nope. I hadn't seen a bald eagke until I was 7 or 8, and that was a taxidermy specimen in a backroom within the no-go zone of a library in south central Minnesota. Many young people just do not understand how close this species of raptor got to extinction because of DDT. My first live sighting I was in my 30's, and guess where. White Earth. I was overcome with relief and joy. Better late than never.😅

Hi Luke, I bought a 2023 4Runner TRD Off Road Last year and love it. You may try this for sleeping comfort. Take out the bottom seats on the rear passenger side which will give you another 12 inches of room. The back is not level so I use my Helinox Lite Cot 23" wide and 73 1/2'' long. Leave out one mid section of leg. The front section keeps in stretched out and hang over the font seating area and the back two sections level everything out. Use a pad and bag and you will be comfortable. Enjoy!

Does weather make life interesting? I moved to Wyoming from Georgia, and a 20 degree day with 20+ mph winds is par for the course here. At 50+ mph, the wind picks up gravel to throw against the windows. We've clocked winds at 80 mph and temps as low as -36 (without wind chill). Wyoming's state wind sock is a truck chain!

I have been backpacking and camping for close to 50 years and still love it. Weather can happen before you know it, even if you look at the forecast. Things change in nature and sometimes you just have to deal with what you have before you. Make sure you have good gear and you will be fine, but you need to know what you are doing and not do anything stupid or nature will make you pay for sure. I backpack mostly from December to April. In the summer there are to many bugs and to many people. Have fun out there and be safe. I love Wyoming. Not to keen on the grizzlies, but you have to take care when you are in an area with animals that look at you as dinner. Bear spray does not work. A 45/70 rifle is what will do the job.

I love the clear door, and the sturdiness in that wind. The fact it maintains it shape in those winds is really impressive. If the company improved the seams and maybe figured a way to vent the tent under the fly, it would improve the performance and make it worth the price tag.

One of the most trustworthy vehicles out there, and the value it will hold is next to none. She might not be the best thing for gas mileage, but when you drive these vehicles, you can appreciate them for what they are. Have fun with her and enjoy it. Beast comes to mind when i drive mine, maybe that name might work for you 😊😊

Thanks for the review, Luke, I always look forward to your take on the many different camping products available. With regard to the heater's performance in this test, the clear plastic door and the gap at the bottom would not have been doing it any favours. I would imagine that, with the mylar-lined door panel closed, it would have been toasty warm in there.

Too bad that the tent leaked, I'm looking for a new tent to take with us in the airplane when we take a long trip to the Arctic this summer. Waaaaaaay back in the late 1980s I had a tent with a mylar lining, it was a 2 person tent, with integrated 'poles' that wrapped up like a bandsaw blade. You just kind of threw it in the air and it landed already setup all you had to do was position and stake it down. Folding it up confounded most people but if you had ever folded a bandsaw blade it was easy. Lost it in a fire and haven't ever seen anything like it since.

I have a oplarus 4 person tent for me and my wife and I love the idea of having a protected area for camp gear, cooking and a hang spot. Not many tent companies have good options or tried a concept that fell flat or was a cheap gimmick. That simple clear waterproof window looking out is a cool useful idea, a sense of peace at mind being about to see out while protected from the elements. Great stuff!
