'going seventeen' is the name of their album where boom boom is the title track (2016). their show going seventeen started middle of 2017. also, the santa ver. practice is more of them just being crackheads in santa and rudolph costume while still nailing the choreography.

  • @khazelming

Also, 'Going Seventeen' is their 3rd mini album. With 8 tracks and Boom Boom was the title track. Afterwards, they released the first season of Going Seventeen, the variety show that you have heard of that's ongoing until now. It was supposed to be just compilation of vlogs and behind the scenes of their activities back then. It just progressed and developed to a full blown variety show starting 2019.

They've actually performed Fearless 2 more times during award/year end events but Mnet's stage had the best camerawork so that's the one I'd recommend. The gaon perf was really cool with the traditional korean drums in the intro though

6:27 that’s s.coups! i see the lucas vibes there lmao. also if you wanted a bit of a funnier video to learn the members better, there’s a video called learning the members names through their funny moments (or something similar) and also a video which is a guide to the members laughs which i also love :D but for actual guides i don’t really think it matters too much which one you watch, you can always watch more in your own time! also the high adlibs later were indeed dk!

haven't gotten to your reaction yet but regarding the cat wanting to be on your desk: cats like being in high places so they have a better vantage point! therefore, desks and tables are usually where you'll find them-- it's not super common for them to want to sleep on the floor if there is an option that's gives them a better view of the room. so if you put a bed on the desk, he'll probably wanna sleep there! that's a great idea! ok, now onto the seventeen reaction lmao edit: yesss I'm glad you liked it! boom boom is definitely an underrated svt title track, but I think it mostly has to do with that people just tend to prefer others more? but your taste is *chef's kiss* as thanks and getting closer are my top title tracks as well.

going seventeen is the name of the album this song is from, they then started going seventeen in 2017 as an 'any extra content' kind of thing but it evolved into a weekly variety show sometime in 2019! also, idk if anyone else feels this way, but seventeen the movie isn't really worth it? it's just very long for no reason and the clips included aren't even the best for showing who they are. i think it would be better to watch seventeen's youtube docuseries from their 2019/early 2020 world tour called 'hit the road'. there's 13 episodes about 10-15 minutes long (plus a shorter prologue and epilogue), and i think it will really help put names to faces as well as give good insight on their personalities. gonna definitely re-sub to your patreon when i have the money again and i'm glad to hear you're feeling better now!

tbh I kinda felt the same about Seventeen the Movie. Don't get me wrong, it is a helpful guide with a lot of info, but its just so long and idk, kind of hard for me to keep focus on it. And that's kind of why I still recommend the Subpar Guide to Seventeen to people because even though it's a few years old, most of the information is still relevant and it's not too long so it's easier to sit through.

  • @luthienmpl

@@coolgirl312 I got into them only in the last 4 months or so and watched both guides trying to learn their faces. I went into the subpar guide knowing only Woozi, came out of it being able to recognize maybe 5 people more but retaining close to nothing of the actual information because it was simply too much in a too short amount of time, even though I enjoyed it a lot and vibed with the humor. The movie does have its weaker points (Jeonghan's part isn't my favorite) but because it takes its time the content left a far bigger impact on me and I came out of it feeling like I actually had a handle on most of the members (still had to watch a couple GoSe episodes to stop confusing Mingyu and Wonwoo though lol)

@@luthienmpl right, I felt the same way with jeonghan's part, iirc they pretty much only showed that clip of him visiting his friend or whatever and I feel like it could've been much better, but I believe the video overall is really good and contains a lot of useful information.

The guy you pointed out at 6:33 is S.Coups, leader of the Hip Hop unit and of Seventeen has a whole. :D You probably noticed on a rewatch/while editing but in the MV Woozi was the dude who was too busy snacking to watch the video feeds XD Maybe it was the glasses that threw you off? Boom Boom kind of gets lost sandwiched in between Aju Nice and DWC, and the MV has a cool concept but the implementation ended up kinda lackluster. But the song is really fun and I'm always happy when it comes on my playlist.

  • @highleee8611

BoomBoom is a title track that fell victim to having something overshadow it in every sense of the word. Its the comeback right between Aju Nice (Seventeen's most successful title track in Korea) and Don't Wanna Cry (Their most successful title track internationally). It also falls victim to having it's B-Sides being more iconic and popular than the title, with songs like Highlight (The most popular Performance Unit Song) and Smile Flower (The Fandom's Song) being in the exact same album. And finally, the third thing was the connection you were making, the Mini Album being named "Going Seventeen", everyone associates it with the Web Series and not the album. BoomBoom is literally just a situation of everything around it surpassed it in some way that it falls to the side when people are talking about SVT Titles, despite it being one of their bests musically. (it also doesn't help that the song came out during award season of 2016, so other things were overshadowing it even at the time of its release)

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO and you posted it on Carat's birthday! so cute! (happy birthday carats!) Yes Going Seventeen is their album name in 2016, and then on 2017 they release their "extra content" for their behid the scene vlogs called Going Seventeen! i think they paid homage to the album name, but it turns out really fitting as it evolves to "wherever you are going, seventeen will be with you" kind of message. On 2018 they release Going seventeen spin off, with longer episodes, in Going Seventeen 2019 they are more focused to variety, they create their own logo song and opening videos for the show, and even have meeting presentation for ideas to further emphasize their participation in the show and so leaving the "behind the scenes" contents shifting it into a new show called "Inside seventeen" and in 2020 the scale got even bigger and the popularity rises. Going Seventeen 2020 even will release a magazine as merch as the members self-made a photoshoot during Going Seventeen 2020 last episode! hehe thank you and will wait for your reactions to any guide or GoSe

the next song actually is don't wanna cry funnily enough dhfkjf also going seventeen was originally the name of the album that boom boom was on, their web show was started a few months later (more around don't wanna cry era) and was named after the album :3 but yeah to be honest boom boom is probably the svt title track that gets the least love. personally it's lower on my list of svt title tracks bc i find the chorus a /bit/ too repetitive, but that being said i don't hate it by any means. and of course I'm sure ppl have other reasons why it's not their favorite. it's definitely a favorite for some people though! but since it's not super loved even by fans Carats don't tend to suggest it to new people as we kind of want to put our "best foot forward" so to speak and present people w some of svts more universally loved title tracks if that makes sense

BOOM BOOM may not be a fave by most Carats. At first I was confused too because it sounds so good, I like the MV concept and the choreo is dope! But then again, there were stronger title tracks of SVT and their album releases are so simultaneous that this became underrated... Also, listening to the Going Seventeen Album where Boom Boom was the title track, the bsides & unit songs were either more relatable(?) or special. Afterall, SVT discography is too rich that it was really really difficult to hype all of their songs when each of them have its charms.

hi! i’d like to expand upon another comment and say that the personalities of seventeen is incredibly difficult to capture, making the guide extremely long and thus, birthing the hardship of paying attention ;; i do think it’s a pretty good video, and while there are some clips that can be switched around for the members, it does a good job at highlighting them. hit the road is something you can try looking into; there’s a dedicated episode towards each member and while i personally don’t like htr much myself, (for reasons i won’t dive into) it’s good to get personal insight from each of them :] no matter what you watch, i’m going to be very pleased! and i will probably subscribe to your patreon to see the content 🎉

+ well i guess i can expand and just point out htr seemed very exploitative? of svts struggles? while i understand the sentiment and being intimate and showcasing their own hardships, there was very clickbaity scenes and.. it wasn’t for me personally but i know some carats enjoyed it so i won’t say much more ;; especially as a seungkwan fan, it was painful to watch lol but maybe i’m just sensitive

@@KpopPrince I didn't get that feeling from Hit The Road at all personally ? I feel like it dived in just as deep in their struggles as the members wanted it to and no further. Every episode was narrated by the members themselves, even the hard parts and they just wouldn't have talked about it if they didn't want to. I'm also a Seungkwan fan and I have no idea what you're talking about ? I found it reassuring because it shows how strong-minded and in touch with his emotions he is and how he finds healthy ways to deal with his struggles. Wonwoo's and Coups' episodes are probably the hardest emotionally, but the way S.Coups approached his anxiety issues was very tactful. Wonwoo's scene might be the most "clickbaity" but if you rewatch his episode, it was honestly just a small scene in it. It only leaves a big impact because, of course, you never like to be confronted to what your idol suffers through behind the stage to bring you their best performance. Wonwoo himself said that they wouldn't have thought of doing HTR before (because of those hard scenes) but they thought the connection between SVT and Carats was strong enough now and they wanted to show everything without dressing it up. And mostly, they wanted to show that all the hardships are worth it for them because going on stage and meeting Carats brings them the most joy.

@@KpopPrince I found that HTR dealt with the "drama" of going on tour fairly well. Nothing seemed to be played up, and I recall Wonwoo explained that it might seem shocking to Carats but to them it was just part of everyday life on tour.

Boomboom was pretty overshadowed unfortunately :( it was released right in between Aju Nice and Don't Wanna Cry which are two of Seventeen's most popular songs, so that's why not a lot of people remember it! I was there when Boomboom was released tho (it was my first cb with Seventeen!) and I was so impressed by their shift in style! Before that, all their title tracks were much brighter and this was like their first step into experimenting with different styles for title tracks!
