I perfectly get what you're saying about "dynamics" with Newjeans' song, I had seen a lot of reviews who said Newjeans is becoming "boring" and "repetitive", and you're probably the only one I have seen who properly explained what you were looking for, because the other ones I have seen, most Newjeans fans would actually take it as "they just want everyone to sound like Blackpink or the usual KPop sound"...because thats what it comes off. Youre the only one who explained it in a way where it didn't come off as just shitting on Newjeans' style overall. HOWEVER, with liking Supernatural over the 3 other releases this comeback, is it correct to assume that maybe you guys just like it to be still as close as possible to a more bombastic, more upbeat sounds like the usual KPop sound? Because you also mentioned Attention and Hype Boy which are songs STILL more rooted in KPop...while I feel like Newjeans are actually branching to a lesser KPop sound as they go on and becomes more inventive by going as far as possible to the usual upbeat/high energy KPop sound. You liked Supernatural and yet it's not a very dynamic song, it actually repeats a lot. I think the more Newjeans branches out to other genres and not sounding like KPop, the more KPop-centric fans will think they are "boring"...but for me, having listened to different types of genres, each genres have restrictions and is not open to total deconstruction, or else they might just stick to KPop again, which seems to bring the "dynamics" as it follows it's own set of formula that is admittedly, more "dynamic" or "unpredictable"....but speaking as someone who is outside looking in, I see it reversed of how you see it...I think KPop is overly formulaic (albeit bombastic unpredictable, and high energy...and Newjeans is a deconstruction of KPop so they sound unique to me, it's also the reason why I think Newjeans brought lots of non KPop fans in their fold) Of course, we each have our own perspective, I'm just trying to bring in my perspective into it (a non KPop fan who started diving into KPop because of Newjeans) ....I also listen to guys like Elliott Smith, Phoebe Bridgers, Phoenix, Slowdive, Beach House, Blur, or genres like Bossa Nova, House Music etc...and so maybe I'm fine/I prefer with music that might be "boring" in the eyes of KPop fans. Maybe KPop fans like a "Ditto" that is very repetitive structure-wise (I think it's one of their most non-dynamic song) once in a while, but they still prefer THAT KPop sound. Nothing wrong with that, but I thank Newjeans for trying to be unique, they might not be dynamic in some KPop fans' perspective, but god, this industry needs that one group that is just easy to listen to and not just blending in with the rest of them.

My God i love this girl! She is actually my favorite idol. All she does is make me smile and she's an angel. My ult idol is a goofy, funny, beautiful soul. Beautiful inside and out. Who can do this concept aside from Chuu? And wearing the jersey with the 12?! 🥹🥲😫 People ask me why Chuu is my ult idol. Just watch her in Running Girls. An all star slow and Chuu is the maknae of the group. And the whole cast falls in love with her. I did too. We all need a Chuu in our lives.

Ive watched this MV like 20 times and I still have the biggest smile on my face watching it. One of my favorite/top5 songs of the year and I think MV of the year as well. Also just want to say, all the music released this past month or so has just reminded me of why I fell in love with kpop. And with Loona being one of the first 2 groups that got me into Kpop in the first place (way back before Butterfly released) having all 12 members releasing music with their respective groups and solo releases has made me one happy orbit.

Its a little of both.....internal bias and there definitely were some later members not featured as much BUT......there were a few that were prominently featured and def others I noticed during your patreon where you kind of were distracted/zoned out/looking stuff up /commenting so not focused on the screen while it was focused on the newer members you didn't know but thats natural. Hard to lock in 100% to an entire episode (especially if you want to do any type of commentary)

I agree with pretty much all you said in this video, this is my favorite song from them, solid all around. About the comparison with Sheesh, I feel like in that song they wasted a lot of potential in the chorus and rap parts. The pre-chorus alone almost sold me the song, but then the chorus and rap parts let me down, specially knowing how good they are.

Young K didn't work on this song, but Hong Ji Sang is listed as the sole composer/arranger/lyricist on the credits. He's a a JYP producer that has worked on a ton of Day6 tracks. That makes sense why some elements of this song reminded me of things I've heard in Day6 songs.

Thank you for showing support to TWS! There are other better songs on the album. I have yet to listen to the rest of the album but they keep their concept relatively the same but they explore a new sound with one of the songs based on the highlight medley I heard! This M/V is so wholesome and bright I am dying from cuteness overload. TWS also covered a red flavour- red velvet on their showcase today! It's so good! I really hope people start getting into them more! It's nice seeing age-appropriate concepts and sounds from groups.

I don't think it's simply an SM thing. The desires of idols change after such a long group period. Some want to dabble in different pursuits. I do think we'll start seeing an SNSD-like release structure from them

The problem is that SM's biggest soloist is Taeyeon and BoA, but they did all the work, basically. I can't give too much credit to SM. If Wendy can be just half as successful as Taeyeon, I will be happy.

I picked the perfect time to really *really* dive into K-pop because I had been on the outskirts for a while. I had never ever expected Red Velvet to do the whole spooky thing, which they've been doing for a few releases now, but I'm into it. I've heard portions of the other songs on the album, and I love it so much.

Young K didn't work on this song, but Hong Ji Sang is listed as the sole composer/arranger/lyricist on the credits. He's a a JYP producer that has worked on a ton of Day6 tracks. That makes sense why some elements of this song reminded me of things I've heard in Day6 songs.

I have yet to listen to the rest of the album but they keep their concept relatively the same but they explore a new sound with one of the songs based on the highlight medley I heard! This M/V is so wholesome and bright I am dying from cuteness overload. TWS also covered a red flavour- red velvet on their showcase today! It's so good! I really hope people start getting into them more! It's nice seeing age-appropriate concepts and sounds from groups.

I don't think it's simply an SM thing. The desires of idols change after such a long group period. Some want to dabble in different pursuits. I do think we'll start seeing an SNSD-like release structure from them

The problem is that SM's biggest soloist is Taeyeon and BoA, but they did all the work, basically. I can't give too much credit to SM. I picked the perfect time to really *really* dive into K-pop because I had been on the outskirts for a while. I had never ever expected Red Velvet to do the whole spooky thing, which they've been doing for a few releases now, but I'm into it. I've heard portions of the other songs on the album, and I love it so much.
