Seven Stars in Kyushu, Japan - The Ultimate Train Experience!

2023 marks the 10th anniversary of Nanatsuboshi Cruise Train - Seven Stars in Kyushu - and we were lucky to participate on a test run to see the recently completed refurbishments and experience the new four-day, three-night route. Words cannot describe how gorgeous this train is, nor can we explain how impeccable the service was, how delectable the meals were, nor how much fun the excursions were - but this short video can!
Take our word for it, but if you don't note that the Seven Stars in Kyushu was voted the top luxury train in the world for the last two consecutive years (2021, 2022) by the readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine.
On the new route, we stopped in Yufuin, Oita Prefecture, Aso, Kumamoto, then took a ferry to Unzen, Nagasaki Prefecture, and then traveled back to Oita before returning to Hakata in Fukuoka. This video shows just a sampling of the many scenes and some of the activities. It’s really something that has to be experienced in person, and I hope someday you can.

    (1) I would like to see tourist trains like "Seven Stars in Kyushu" operated on a route connecting Scotland and London. Specifically, after enjoying nature in Scotland, the sightseeing plan is to enjoy shopping in London and then return home. (2) I would like to see a sightseeing train like "Seven Stars in Kyushu" introduced in the United States. Specifically, it is a sightseeing plan that connects Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

Why are Japanese trains so great and British trains so rubbish. It’s not fair.
