This is worth every cent they charge. Its an epic vessel, magnificently designed and the standard of services, quality of food is like nothing else.

Norwegian Cruise Lines (~8% global market share) -- the smallest of the big three that includes Carnival Group (~50%) and Royal Caribbean Group (~25%) -- has Regent as their flagship product, Oceania as their luxury product and Norwegian as their mainstream product. IMHO, Oceania offers the best value to luxury ratio. You get all inclusive specialty dining (that is just as posh as Regent's) and very well appointed mid-size ships -- especially the new Marina and Riviera. If you don't care for expensive artworks and an obscene amount of marble the experience is similar. For perspective, Oceania cruises are typically $1000 to $2500 for a 7~8 day itinerary. Regent's is a little less than twice that, whereas NCL is a little more than half that. Seabourne (Carnival Group) and Crystal (Genting Group) are their direct competitors for the luxury market.

Yes, it would be nice to stay in a suite like this. But no mention of price. My friends always book Regent, and usually for a 10-14 days cruise pay north of $20,000. Their suites are around 300 sq ft., so about the same size as a mini suite on other cruise lines, at about 1/3-40% of the cost, and these rooms are just fine. Are they as plush, perhaps not. However for me, it is better to save my money and go on 2 cruises for the price of 1. One of my friends arguments being it's all inclusive, the liquor is included, and the cost of the excursions is included. Well, having just got back from a cruise of 15 days, my excursions were $1,200, and my bar bill was $300. I paid $7700 for my cruise in a mini-suite. They did the same cruise, paid $25,000. To each their own, the friend of mine can afford it but only goes on a cruise once per two years. I do 1-2 per year.

I'd like to go on this cruise line but it's hard to justify the price. It's nice, but I can't even really afford a Disney cruise without probably saving for a while, let alone this. Itinerary might make a difference, but I could probably fly or take at train to some of their stops for cheaper and spend more time there.

They are a premium no doubt but keep in mind Regent includes everything in their cruises. No multi-hundred or even thousand dollar extras like alcohol or excursions. Once you include the value of what you get it becomes closer than a lot of people realize. Still higher? Yes, but not horrifically and it's a premium experience.

But by the time you’ve paid say on average $7000 for two cruise’s a year thats almost the exact same as your friends have paid for the luxury cruise every two years! And is that $7700 including all noninclusive add ons ?

It's also included with ultimate balcony dinner, unlimited shore excursions, butler service, unlimited WiFi (unlike some of cruise that WiFi is not as speed and only for 1 device), L'Occitane shampoo, conditioner & body wash, Hermes body lotion & body spray & guerlain face lotion & hand wash. All your dinnerware (utensils & plates) are from Versace & u could hold mini party in your suite (complimentary). So yea, there's budget, but there's also benefits

We are forgetting to point out that Titanic WAS the most luxurious ship of it era. It was inevitable to be beat with technology advancements and changing trends. A cruise ship in 2120 will be different to one in 2020. Titanic is over 108 years old

Just came back from a cruise on Azamara Journey, they did away with a live casino. It was a 2 week cruise and was nice. We booked Regent for next November 2019.

If I save up for my entire life... I might just about be able to afford a really nice portrait of this ship.

It’s a very valid comment to health-minded travelers (the vast majority of passengers, in fact) seeking to avoid toxic second-hand smoke.

Just a lot of hype for a nominal amount of pocket change from the rich big wigs who are empty inside and bored out of their minds! No real entertainment and not a lot of people perhaps makes this attractive? Bonvoyage...............NOT!

I definitely won't throw money at a boat that is telling me " if you are RICH this is where the big players meet. The boat is empty doesn't look entertaining. I would be spending my money on something adventurous not life threatening but something with a lasting experience in a positive way of course with my LOVELY WIFE .....but that is me
