Yeah, lots of power but doesn’t seem overbearing, the keyword limitations for the detachment stratagems seem both good and fluffy (unlike the Custodes one), interesting enhancements that change how a unit plays in some cases, plus it just seems like a lot of fun. Good codex!
This is it lads revolution time! I own (big ebay find years ago) 96 of the 120 needed grotz, 15 kans, 6 field guns and 16 grot tanks + 1 mega tank. Time to finally finish my grot army.

I like the mek guns, but the static play style never appealed to me. Im thinking, 1 Stompa, 2 Mork/Gorkanaughts, 3 Deff Dreds * point cost contingent, and maybe a bunch of Kans and grots. Spinkle in some boyz if I have extra points. or some Grot Tanks.

Predator snagga boyz - Great, Custodes Orks - Great, Big green horde - great And probably my favorite detachment: Meka Dread army! It doesn't matter whether they are all suitable for competitive use, but they definitely have a good vibe.

It's incredible how much more FUN and POWRFUL BOTH this codex is compared to custodes. Ludicrous.

Ork Codex seems to be the first one in 10th that has people legit hyped for it. Everything else came out to dismay or indifference. Whoever is writing Ork codex needs to handle more going forward. Fire whoever wrote Admech and Custodes... and whoever nerfed World Eaters into the ground just to be safe

@@whichDude Tau are pretty good tbh. Marines have ironstorm wich Is op and gladius still good. Necrons have been broken for the last 2 months. Tyranids suck but they got good rules and can be fixed pointwise. Orks are looking VERY strong. On the other hand, DA are unplayable, AdMech has no rules and the same fate has befallen the custodes. Most codexes May be a letdown but some of the are plain horrendous

If Big Mek Mega Armor led Meganobz can push the button in dreadmob.....oh boy
I think a big question for the Dread Mob detachemnt is: Do the Big Meks gain the "Mek" keyword? Because if they get it too, that is a big boost for the infantry units of Shooting that can access the rule and allow the little Meks to focus on Vehicles and Walkers with the +1

Acording to the core rules a "unit with a chareter shares there keyword and the other way around" so I would say yes 😁

@@respawn939 as of right now though Big Mek's don't have the mek keyword only the Big Mek keyword which rules as written doesn't allow you to use the dread waaagh ability. if the get MEK then that would allow them to do so. it's the same with snagga boyz, painboyz,weirdboyz, and burna boyz despite being boyz they don't have the BOYZ keyword so they don't benefit from green tide.

@respawn939 that's true but I'm not talking about shared keywords, I'm talking about the fact Big Meks as of the Index, don't have the MEK keyword that would be needed to let those units benefit from the shared keyword rule.

Played a game yesterday using the leaked detachment rule. Just with current points and starts. Beat black legion. Really fun. Killa Kans put some work in.

Buy the Custodes Codex, we have One less option for our army rule Sisters of Silence Detachment that inflicts Battleshock tests, otherwise known as "Thousand Sons? Fuck you" A Votann cosplaying as a Custodes Enough Bikes to make a White Scar player blush A combined detachment that protects Custodes from mortals and Psykers whilst increasing the attack of the Sister, otherwise known as "Thousand Sons? Fuck you twice." A detachment that says once per battle, you can just go "Oh, you wanna do damage? You crit on 5+ now and have +1AP" which is just "You play Knights? Imagine this. GET FUCKED." I love the new Custodes Codex for being so absurdly over the top they are in terms of the bullshit they pull out, but they got kinda shafted on rules for the model range. It's a choice of playing your HQs, playing your Sisters, playing your Custodes, or playing your Sisters and Custodes with the detachment choice effectively not mattering all that much unless you have two different units of Sisters that you are fielding. That would be funny though, 1770pts of just the Sisters models and three Rhinos.

Dude the Custodes Detachments are all awful. The Custodes need the FNP to make them playable as a faction. Did you forget us dropping to last when we lost the FNP to DW?
My friend runs a stupid but fun Aircraft/Vehicle Heavy ork army, I hope that these new updates might work with that to make it less aweful
Does GW not see a quality difference between the two codices?

I've never really been a fan of flamer weapons on battle sisters, but green tide (on top of my already growing love for flamer seraphim) is starting to change my mind.

I mean, "rules" be damned, if you turn up with 2000 points of grots and somebody refuses to let you play them, that person isn't worth playing with.

You know, I have never met an Ork player who wasn’t a hoot to play against. I have a feeling this trend is going to continue.
I hope there is a couple more changes across the board that were just not yet revealed but so far it looks awesome! Dreadmob especially sounds Nasty in both Power and Chance of killing yourself! Good Orky fun!!
Worth noting for the boyz detachment I belive the re roll saves of 1 applies to all ork units with 10+ models. So there is some minor benefit for non boy 10+ model units.
I hope the Kult of Speed one is good. My army is all bikes, buggies and koptas.

I joked that no rules could make up for taking our bosses away, but this may have done so. I'm so excited!!!
Looks interesting but I do have a few concerns going forward, chiefly: - Orks CP farm is now even more unreliable, they're left jumping through hoops vs other factions that get it for free from taking a character that they likely would have taken anyway. IMO there are a few things that are common enough across all armies that they should be a staple of every army's design, that being a 1CP generating character and a free battle tactic cast, since armies without these tend to suffer compared to those that have them. - a lot of weapons staying the same isn't reassuring, there's a lot that could have been tinkered with, Orks are also exceptionally weak to -1D as it halves their damage output in most cases, most of their weapons staying 2D will continue to make this an issue - Flash Gitz are likely to be shelved this edition in favour of lootas, not being able to be led by a big mek (which means likely not being lead by a regular mek either) gatekeeps them from the detachment they would have been best with. With them already losing Kaptin Badrukk it leaves them in a very precarious position, unless they receive a way to reroll hits or some other kind of buff/change, I don't see them being taken. However I'm generally hopeful, the new detachments look all at least usable if not good, though I feel I may end up sticking with war horde but that's a personal taste thing since I've been playing goffs since 8th edition, and I think the detachment still mostly holds up, though bully boyz is tempting. The other thing is whilst most weapons appear to be staying the same, there are a lot of units receiving changes, the weaknesses of earlier codexes were datasheets not changing, so hopefully orks will actually receive a bit of a boost from their codex as they do need it.

@@kieranduchayla6657 Depends if they get the nobz keyword in the new codex, I know statwise they basically are nobz but currently the only keywords they have are infantry, grenades, and flash gitz. Even if they can use the reroll strat in bully boyz, it's worse since it now requires a precious CP and it's only in one detachment which is also not the one you'd want to use them in.
Wow I hope whoever wrote this codex writes the rest of them, these all sound super fun and super cool

A nine-model Squig unit with a 9" pre-game move sounds terrifying. 32 wounds worth of squigs with 5+ Feel No Pain.
Super hyped overall, knew the Squigbosses were gonna catch a stray nerf. Not sure how I feel if Mozzie can actualy lead Squighogz since...you know...his entire lore is him preferring the company of Squigs than to his fellow Ork

Ohh : Ok cant complain about wacky ork stuff being removed TOO much, cos that Dread mob detatchment is PEAK. But that is a shame that my boys arent gonna be popping every now and again due to their own backpacks xD Always loved that rule.

Nothing bad about these detachments so far, looking like we're going to have a good codex with several different styles of play the krumping gitz. Now if the meta chasers can just stay away that would be most welcome.

Interesting sidegrade for Squigosaur. I thought the index profile was a bit silly, but now he's going to be so annoying to take down surrounded by a whole unit of Squighogs and Smasha Squigs

God, this makes me wanna run a double Gorkanought in Dreadmob for the dakka dakka dakka, maybe even a Stompa if it drops to maybe 600-650-ish points
GW bringing back a bit of the randomness to Orks in 10E, along with the very characterful rules is something I was not expecting at all, but it's extremely welcome! That said, it's really weird how the new Ork Combat Patrol is literally ALL Beast Snaggas but given their lack of boyz keyword it locks them into just the BS Detatchment to get any benefits, when I always got the impression that the CP boxes were meant to be more well rounded, outside of their specific game mode.
While I'll probably mostly play waaagh horde, (sustained hits being my favorite) but so far I like these detachments especially bully boys and mek mob
So when I said the Kroot felt like Boyz wow they really are like that but with honestly a little different might even be a little lesser. Anyway wow Orks looking good still gotta wait for the points but love the orks. I might have to try deep striking mega nobs.

I love the themes here with Orks. Never a bad day to be green. I am sad Squighog Boys lose access to +1 to hit. They're gonna need a decent points drop since they were balanced around that. Other than that I'd say I'm excited so long as we don't get costed into the ground. Mozrog being a distraction Carnifex will be missed.
I actually said "Oh, thank fuck" out loud as soon as I saw Boyz had gained a sticky objectives ability instead of the stupidly situational Warboss thing
So what is happening with the new mek? Is he the only one now or is there another data sheet for the old forcefield mek?

@@scribesarchive289 They are my second army, because I wanted a low-model count elite army. But I have yet to play with them outside of a couple of HH Zone Mortalis games. So I don't really care about if a codex is good for tournament play or not, but the Custodes one seems to be a bit lackluster, compared to their index rules. We'll see when the full rules drop.
I was not entirely sold on the Ork Codex. Dread Mob sounded fun but i was a bit sceptical, but now everything i see just looks INSANELY FUN! I AM SO GOD DAMN STOKED TO REROLL ALL MY HITS ON A STOMPA!!!!

Don't forget tho sticky objectives with the rules commentary supercede it so it's lost at the end of start of any phase.
Stopped playing orks in january because I didn't had fun with them I will now have fun with them

By Gork I am so happy with this codex. Nothing looks gamebreaking (thank Mork) but everything looks soooo fun. Whoever wrote these rules really gets Orks and why they are so entertaining to play.
For real I reckon auspex would be an inquisitor. Unrelenting, unyielding..

This all mostly sounds like great fun and I'm all for it. Bit of a shame that Tankbustas don't seem to have been sorted out, though, their current datasheet is an abomination, largely because their current kit is one too.
As much as I have loved burning everything to the ground with my Sillymanders im stoked to get new ork rules so I can decide how to finish building my orkz

@whichDude I actually had built a meme list for TTS using predominantly grot tanks with flamers. It seems like killa kans are gonna be the way to go though since they are more affordable. Especially with the new mech detachment. Even then....something like $400 in kans for a meme seems...rough.

Rules seem fun buuuuut... kinda hyper specific, usually only applying to small number of specific units? If your list isn't hyper taiolerd to the detachement you're missing out on a lot...
