I've had my M50 for almost a year and love it. Coming back to this video after several months has been hugely helpful. You explain the stabilization features better than any other KZreadr, most of whom say don't use the digital stabilization. But you have explained the intent of each. Digital IS "enabled" smooths out handheld jitters and bumps when walking, panning etc. "Enhanced" is for when you want a rock steady handheld shot without camera movement. If you try to pan it's trying to to make a moving object stand still and is constantly recalculating what that should be which is why it looks terrible. This one video has upped my game significantly (and helped me get full value out of the camera. Thank you. Now if someone can explain how the 4k works... It uses less of the image on the sensor, yet gets more pixels of resolution and then you can zoom in still further in post and get 1080p image quality.

Yeah, it's super handy! Love the size of it. Can't remember if I replied to your other comment about your 6D Mk II, but I am jealous of being able to have a blurry background like you would with a 16-35 f/2.8. I've been seeing a lot of people struggling to get the focus to be smooth on the 6D - I'm assuming that's because of the ultrasonic motors in most of the good Canon glass, but how has it been for you?

Best review so far. Not dwelling on how bad 4K is, and in fact i love how positive you are about it. I feel the same. The 4K is lacking compared to others but the camera has so much more to offer., and I think the crop factor combined with a fast prime makes it quite unique.

The crop on the 5D4's 4K video doesnt bother me since I have a Tamron 15-30 that it does great but the massive used of memory on 4K is the killer.

Justin, thanks for the video. This one ultimately helped me decide on the M50 a few months back. Annoying issue I'm running into though, the power toggle switch doesn't appear to do anything. Especially turn the camera off when I flip it into the off position. Is this normal on the M50 to have an always or passively on feature?

Yep, Memorial Cup! We made a bunch of vids for it over on Justin & Greg so I pulled a few shots from it. The VLOG we put out yesterday is actually WILD! Were down 7-2 and brought it back to 7-6 - crowd was going NUTS.

Probably my a6500 if I had the M50 in my hands. But my "Best Canon Camera" video was shot in 4K on my M50 and it looks STUNNING.

do you recommend the Sigma 24mm 1.4 ? does the 18-35 have noise issues with the auto zoom? I have heard some sigma lenses are loud with the autofocus where a constant sound is going

The 18-35 is fine if you use the genuine Canon adapter. Noisy AF with cheap 3rd party ones. Sigma 24mm 1.4 is beautiful but overkill for this camera. You could get the new Sigma EF-M 16mm f/1.4 and 30mm f/1.4 and those would be sweet!
