Do you have any videos on tips/weaknesses of setting up an apple watch as a child's only phone? I'm searching for a solution for my 12 year old, don't want any browsers, social media, or Wi-Fi hotspot abilities. Right now I'm leaning towards a Sunbeam F1 feature phone but it doesn't seam to have gps tracking abilities for the parent. I have a series 6 (cellular) apple watch I could repurpose if it is a decent solution. My kid is clever about getting around parental (and even chromebook school IT) controls.

But when we check his messages, it shows both of ours messages locked as well. Could you tell me whats wrong?

Hi Family Tech, thanks for this video! I've just set up my 8 year old child to the parental control system and set up the app approval option. This works well with any app that is suitable for her age but with apps that are for older kids, like 12 year old, she can't even ask for permission, the app is automatically blocked, is there any way to overrule this restriction?

You don’t need a different iphone. Your internet provider can show you search history even after it’s been deleted. All messages, even deleted ones, are available upon request from phone provider. Snapchat and TikTok will provide you with complete logs of who your child has been in contact with, messages, and every video they view. If they’re very young I’d check this without their knowledge. If they’re later teens I’d let them know you could find this all out if you wanted to but give some privacy

All messages, even deleted ones, are available upon request from phone provider. Snapchat and TikTok will provide you with complete logs of who your child has been in contact with, messages, and every video they view. That’s a bonus bc it lets them think you are giving them more freedom but you can really monitor and keep them safe. If they are older teens I would tell them you can see everything they text if you wanted to but also let them know you will give privacy if respect you with messaging. Snapchat is the biggest danger to your children especially if they are tweens

Your internet provider can show you search history even after it’s been deleted. All messages, even deleted ones, are available upon request from phone provider. Snapchat and TikTok will provide you with complete logs of who your child has been in contact with, messages, and every video they view. For a 10 year old, monitor all of this without them knowing. If they are on snapchat or TikTok get them off immediately. The amount of explicit content on TikTok is unbelievable and snapchat could expose your child to predators and could even expose their location to random people if they have that setting on.

  • @MrSpinnaahh

Yup! First your going to ask to see her phone. Then you place that phone in a microwave for 30 seconds. Next, after she’s done screaming, you hand her an old school, no data, flip phone. Warn her that disobedient children get downgraded tech until they’re mature enough to handle fancy tech. When she asks “what about my iPhone!? It’s cooked!” You say “Ohhh that was my phone, that I bought and let you borrow it. I decided to nuke that phone. If you want a new one, I hear ebay has low prices on refurbished models. Good luck.” She wont turn off anything ever again. Btw Im a Dad of 3 kids, 2 decades of coaching sports, I substitute teach at private schools and I’m a religious ed teacher as well. I make it a point to know more about technology than my kids however if you can’t TRUST them to operate the phone or car or whatever you give them then they’re too immature and it’s time to show them what not having said item feels like. I prefer not taking stuff away… thats too easy. I prefer giving them a downgrade which aggravates them more lol. 😎

Snapchat and TikTok will provide you with complete logs of who your child has been in contact with, messages, and every video they view. If they’re very young I’d check this without their knowledge. If they’re later teens I’d let them know you could find this all out if you wanted to but give some privacy. Snapchat is the biggest danger to your children especially if they are tweens. Them just knowing this will do far more for you than any of these paternal controls they can get around could do.

This is sick. You parents don't understand mental insanity. We are still people. We still need privacy. You want to make this so your children are safe??? As soon as they can move out. They will. And will disobey every single "rule" you made. None of this is doing anything. Its just hurting your child.

@@loveeatingchipsss We have already tried the free rains method only to have a police officer bring our child back home in the middle of the night from sneaking out with her friends. Turns out she has been smoking pot, drinking behind our backs, not to mention what we found on her phone. So she is lucky she has a phone at all after all she has been doing. Phones are dangerous to the mind of a child. When she gets to the age of 18, sure she will leave and thats fine, one day she will have kids and see for her self. The problem is these days is that these kids dont like to be told what to do, until they start paying their own way, tuff luck kiddo.
