The best instruction I've ever seen, I have problems with electronics its my problem, and here's a step-by-step guide to parental control setup for children taken on my phone.
Every parent needs to get with this! Great simple instructions! 😊

This was very helpful. Thank you
Thank you so much! You really helped me out. The people at AT&T were clueless.

hey man - thanks for the great advice. i can't belive this and the earlier video haven't had more views. this is by far the best guide out there in terms of content, delivery, explanation and presentation. amazing stuff. thanks again.
Great explanation, finally i understood difference between app limits and downtime. I do recommend all parents to get on this, such a great way of control those devises.

Thank you, glad it helped!
This was really helpful but it isn't working on my son's computer, I have "only allowed websites" and he can still get into youtube and other things, then I put app limits on those for 1 minute and that works for his computer but it still lets him do it on his phone. I have been to the apple store many times, and called them many times and no one can help me figure it out. I am hoping you can? It is impossible to manage when he has to do his homeowork on the computer and also talk to friends to do group projects. Thank you in advance.

If I don’t want my child on it at all during the week, how do I set it up?
In this situation, can the child / teenager bypass the password using his icloud password, or his iphone password (given that it is his iphone)?

No, and you can lock the iPhone passcode from being changed as well
Question - if I go thu the setup and block the Settings app in Screentime on my kid's phone, and I need to go in and update the iOS or individual apps, and I need to turn Screentime off in order to do that, when I go back in to Screentime, do I have to start from scratch and re-setup all the restrictions EVERY time that happens OR does it save the settings and when I turn it back on it just goes back to the settings that were setup intially? Thanks - great video!

Hi Zackary! I don’t believe you can remove or totally restrict the settings app itself. But if you set a strict limit (even 1 minute) and the Settings app becomes unavailable, you can approve an hour or all day usage just for that day and perform the updates needed without affecting any of the other settings.

@@beardfm You're right thru Screentime - you cold with the old "restrictions" subsetting under Settings... I miss how granular it was using that vs. Screentime... I think Apple could do better, honestly.
Hey… Thank you. I have a question when you were talking about app limits… I one time tried to add a limit of 2 hours across all apps, and ONE HOUR specifically for tiktok. I think that was giving her 2 hours

Of all apps (including tiktok) plus one extra hour of tiktok.. can you help me figure that out?
Hi, thx for the tutorial. My child's screen time was working fine and it popped up "Send request" or "Enter passcode" when time was due. However, the screen time doesn't work recently. When the time is due, it doesn't have the "Send request" or "Enter passcode" anymore but "Ok" or "Ignore it". So my kid can just easily press "Ignore it" and then "For the whole day". Am I missing something for the settings?

Hey Kevin, is the Screen Time passcode still enabled in their settings? You may need to check on the physical device Settings > Screen Time > "Use Screen Time Passcode" if it's not enabled.
I am having the hardest time setting this up. I only want my kid to be on his phone for two hours from 5pm-7pm. How would I set up downtime? Or do I do by the app limit? Thanks.
@beardfm

It's a little weird to get in that small a chunk, but I would set "Starts at 7pm Sunday - 5pm Monday" and make sure you set "Block at Downtime" as toggled "on"
I need help does anyone know how to get rid of the ask for one minute ? My daughter has so many games she can click one more minute and she could be on it for hours one minute between the diffrent games
Is it possible to have separate screen time passcodes for each child?
@beardfm

Yes! You can set it per child.
If you set a downtime & turn OFF App limits, does that mean the entire phone is disabled (Apps, phones, messages) for that set downtime?
@beardfm
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, unless you have an app selected in the “Always Allowed” section.
On my phone it says under the DOWNTIME On until schedule. Does that mean it is locked until the end time?
@beardfm
Жыл бұрын
Correct
So I have set my kids iPad for scheduled downtime from 8pm-8am. I have the option of turning on downtime until schedule. But when I do it gives the iPad the 5 minute warning as soon as I turn that on. I just want it to be blocked from 8pm-8am. I have no app limits because they don’t really need it. Plus they’re in school most of the day. Do I not “turn on downtime until schedule”?
Hey mate how can we increase limit ( I mean if I want to increase limit by 1 hour on all apps ) than how to do it properly
@beardfm
4 ай бұрын
Hey there! It would require going to the app limits and manually adding an hour to each category you have programmed
Do you notice screen time isn’t accurate on apps? I’ve set 2hrs on messages and look at my kids usage vs what it says and it’s miss calculating and locking down the app from usage. Thanks for all these great videos!
What if you do not want your child to have access at all on any given day? Also, thank you!
Is it possible to remotely lock a child's iPhone? That's all I want to do with parental controls.
@beardfm

For that I would login to iCloud.com with their account and lock the device remotely.
Hi, Cannot able to download Netflix app on my son ipad mini its says “due to restrictions set for this device, this app cannot be downloaded” maybe I did something wrong. Please help
@beardfm

You may have to set the app restriction age to 17+ in order to download and open. If you have ask to buy enabled they will have to request any new apps so you can still monitor what’s being downloaded.
My kid is not able to access KZread as soon as I setup screen time settings. Is there a way to fix this?

What if kids has hacked the screentime passcode? A lot of counter-parenting supervise vedios out there !

I change the passcode regularly, make sure it’s not related to any info the kids may know. And be extra careful whenever you input the passcode that they can’t see.
My kids are 13 and 14. I can’t figure out why I can’t have access to there contents. I don’t want them to be able to add any number. Help please

Are they part of your iCloud family, and is there a screen time passcode set they aren’t aware of? If so, go to their screen time settings > communication limits > during screen time / down time set as contacts only

Sorry about sending a comment. I looking for a button for you email but couldn’t find it. So I do have the contacts only on my end. But when I go to manage contacts it says pending. Do u have an email I can’t message you at so I could send you a couple of pictures of what it says and looks like.
“Mother’s” don’t know how to keep passcodes secure… 😎

Using 1Password or the built in iCloud Keychain would help!
